- Polar bear armor is pretty terrible at the moment. 1 talent point and 5 tech points get you: hyperthermia any time you spend more than 30 seconds not outside in the arctic. No joke even in an empty building, you'll start overheating. This is ignoring how many polar bears you'll actually have to kill to get a full set(it took me 14ish polar bears, which is about 10 more than I actually want to deal with).
- % reduced ore weight: Applies to ALL ore, including sulphur, coal, oxite, and silica. This means with a backpack and talents, you can have anywhere from 35-60% reduced weight(depending on if solo) for some of the heaviest and annoying things to farm when you need them in bulk.
- Higher tier food buffs are great. My favorite is wine+pickled carrots+cooked prime meat/cream of corn. You'll have well over 500 stamina that only takes roughly 10 seconds to recover courtesy of the +100% stamina regen from wine.
- Pickled Carrot+Hunting Rifle can one-shot sneak attack polar bears level 60ish and below. 2 headshots to kill up to level 98 polar bears(the highest level I've run into so far).
- Antibiotics remove cave lung. Most probably know this but for those that don't, there ya go.
- 3 points in hunting gets you wallhacks. The healthbars can be seen a fair distance away and through terrain/buildings/etc.
- The 5% movespeed talent while carrying an animal counts bunnies and baby deer as well. They also don't decay while on your belt.
- Like antibiotics, this is for the newbies: Solo talents still apply when you're playing with other people if you're the only one online.
- Another newbie tip: Herbivores spot you from much further distances than predators. Combined with health bars you can easily identify wolves that are otherwise hidden in the brush by gauging proximity long before their nameplate or alert status shows up.
- If storms land when you're in a bad spot, don't fret! You can run between saves(every one minute, which you can check by looking at the escape menu) and log out before the next tick. The game will save your position, but not the storm progress or your exposure bar.
- EDIT: Forgot to mention: You can give workshop stuff to other people, but they won't keep them when they leave the planet, you also won't get returned/refunded the item when you leave. We specifically tested this to see if we might be able to kit out other people in our group if they were to get the game later down the line.
Enjoy lads, hope it helps.
