With new animals also come new trophies that can be crafted and placed in your base.

Lastly, we’ve got a preview of a new weapon type that is coming to Icarus next week.

Originally posted by Exctoris: If you are using an NVIDA GPU and have updated your drivers recently to NVIDIA Driver 565.90 or newer you may be experiencing more frequent crashes with Icarus and other games. We have contacted NVIDIA and let them know. In the meantime we suggest reverting to 561.09.

Welcome to Week 152.

This week, we’re completing the Tier 3 tech tree project of having a T3 upgrade for every available T2 bench, with the addition of the Windmill.

This sits between the Tier 2 Mortar & Pestle and the Tier 4 Material Processor.

We’ve also got some hot news on next week’s new item and what it means for some upcoming additions in the weapon and creature categories.

Jump in and have a read.

Notable Improvements
  • Added missing meshes for the remaining canteens and oxygen tanks, so all versions are now held in hand correctly
  • Fixed Shadows in the final Nullsector cave as there was some strange ‘artefacting’ going on
  • Bats no longer collide with players and other NPCs. Improved targeting behavior of bats means they should miss the player less often when attacking. Increased chance for bats to break out of their idle flight loop to attack nearby target

Welcome to Week 151.

This week, we’re giving Reinforced Wood a makeover and a new name - Beeswax Wood. This will have the same stats, but a new look and design.

We’ve also added static boss health bars, something we discussed a while back and was important in preparation for some exciting, upcoming content.

Jump in and have a read.

Notable Improvements:
  • Fixed a timeout issue when hosting prospects if the loading took over 60 seconds
  • Fixed an issue that was causing long loading times due to array copying. This was causing unnaturally long load times when hosting or joining games
  • Removed the 180s session timeout that sends players back to the main menu if they took too long to load (was possible to see this on hosts / singleplayer)
  • Fixed a bug where the shield would block poison/miasma damage. Shield now specifically only blocks 'melee' and 'projectile' damage

Welcome to Week 150 - another milestone we’re proud to achieve with you all.

We released the Null Sector last Friday and, as we mentioned in the post, spent the start of this week at our company ‘Re-Orientation’. This has meant we’ve had less than three days this week to spend on the patch, so we have focused on fixes for the Null Sector and improvements from your feedback.

If you missed the post last week we do a full breakdown of the Null Sector here.

This Week: Quality-of-Life (QoL) Improvements

Welcome to Week 147.

This week comes with a massive quality-of-life addition: an in-game wiki of items craftable in Icarus as a new section of the Field Guide. This includes where to find them, how to craft them, what to use them for, and what they’re connected to.

We also introduce some new exclusive bobbleheads for owners of Stationeers as a thank-you for supporting the studio.

Plus, we have a small update on where Null Sector is up to and what’s coming next week.

Jump in and have a read.

Notable Improvements:
  • Prospects without local save files are no longer shown on the 'Load' screen. This should fix the issue where players would incorrectly see past multiplayer games in this list without having access to the save file
  • Mounts are now bound to the account that claimed them instead of the specific character. This should fix the issue where players bringing down mounts that were claimed by a differ...

Welcome to week 144.

This week introduces the new Arctic Vesper, which is found in nests spawning in the frozen expanses of Icarus.

We also briefly mention the new cart attachments coming next week.

Notable Improvements

Welcome to week 141

This week, we continue our project clinic.

Originally posted by author: We are working on some big changes with the ‘Nullsector’ (the Prometheus Free Expansion). We are aiming to provide some very different (but good different) experiences not seen before with Icarus. Some of these changes are a bit spicy and we are doing lots of rapid balance iteration at the moment, this includes overhauling the quests for a more narrative focus. The Nullsector will be released when the experience hits the mark it deserves.

This week continues the expansion of the Icarus weapon tree. To make pistols more useful, and avoid only adding onto the end of the tech tree, the current One Shot Pistol is moving to Tier 2, along with a new a cheaper ammo recipe. This makes space for the new Semi-Automatic Pistol on the Machining Bench at Tier 3.

The Free Prometheus Expansion is progressing well as we implement feedback from closed play testing. We explain more about how you'll use Beacons to explore the ‘Null Sector’ dark zone below.

This Week: New Pistol & Rebalance We’re adding a new Semi-Automatic Pistol this week at Tier 3.

This comes with a rebalance and restructure of the pistol tiers to clearly differentiate the different weapons.

Welcome to week 136.

This week we’re implementing comprehensive changes to how seeds and crops interact with biomes and weather patterns.

One of Icarus' unique foundations is the immersive weather system, which requires genuine consideration in many decisions you make including building materials, biome selection and even structural design. Biomes add unique resource pools and availability, along with impacts to survivability and ailments.

One area of the game which has not been affected by these impacts, however, is farming. While rainfall amounts and glasshouse bonuses have a modest effect, it has largely ignored many of the other impacts that are prevalent on other game features.

We are expanding on that this week with biomes, extreme storms, freezing temperatures and exposure now playing a part in the crop growth simulation, making this feel more natural and connected to the rest of the game.

This includes new tiers of shovels and cro... Read more
