The update did not the cause the outage directly. It was effectively chance that caused the outage to occur at roughly the same time as the update.

Additionally these kinds of issues are ones of scale. It is almost impossible to test scale under real conditions with the player populations we have.

Instead, when the issue arose, me and up to eight other people worked all weekend, around the clock, to fix the issues and get this working.

Please don’t hijack others threads as it is confusing and starts flame wars, you are welcome to make your own if you want to discuss the outage.
