Crafting system is all jacked up at the moment, but we can use that to our advantage.

Basically any stack that is 50%+ of the crafting requirements will be consumed and considered enough to do the craft. Since iron bars are crafted with iron ore 2:1, 1 iron ore in a stack is enough to complete the craft. So split all your iron ore into individual stacks and get 1:1 iron ore to iron bars.

If you want to make a half price iron knife (6 iron bars) split it into 3 and 3. Only the first stack will be consumed.

Sound too good to be true? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOGUwfQKRvE

This works with basically every craft that uses more than 1 of something. Craft your fur armor with half the necessary fur, or your armor with half the carbon... you get the idea.

This is a consequence of all crafting recipes being broken: It works through your inventory from top to bottom, left to right. Each stack is consumed as follows:
If the stack is <50% of the needed cost, it eats the stack, gives no credit, and moves on.
If the stack is 50%+ of the needed cost, it eats the stack, and gives full credit, finishing the craft.
If the stack is 100%+ of the needed cost, it eats only what it needs.

So if you have iron bars in stacks of 19, 19, 19, 19, 20 and craft an iron anvil, it'll take 96 iron bars to craft the anvil, as it deletes the first 4 sub-50% stacks. If you have 2 stacks of 20, 20. It will cost you 20 iron bars, because that's 50%+ and now it's done.

Thanks great repro. I've seen this myself, tasked up as critical priority fix for BW5.
