Will I be able to enjoy Icarus on my machine?
Below is a guide on our Minimum and Recommended Specs, and how Icarus may run on your machine should you meet these.
Minimum Specs:
These are the lowest specs in which you will be able to enjoy Icarus without too much compromise on quality.
Currently:
OS: Windows 10 (64-bit versions)
Processor: Intel i5 8400
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 70 GB available space
Our minimum specs are player-focused, granting the ability to run Icarus on low to mid end graphics settings. We acknowledge that many folks are still running GTX 1060 cards and so we have ensured Icarus will play on these GPUs to the best of its ability. Anything below these specs, we unfortunately cannot attest for.
Recommended Specs:
These are the recommended specs for you to experience Icarus at ideal quality!
Currently:
OS: Windows 10 (64-bit versions)
Processor: Intel i9-9900K
Memory: 32 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA RTX 3060ti
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 70 GB available space
We recognize that these specs may be quite high, and they are for good cause. This is our hallmark for you to play Icarus and enjoy it to its full potential.
Somewhere in the middle:
Anywhere between our minimum and recommended specs will run Icarus just fine. The majority of our developers here at RocketWerkz run Icarus on RTX 2070 GPUs! We advise that you adjust your graphical settings to suit your system's performance.
RayTracing and DLSS
Recommended specs for RTX are still to come! We’re working closely with NVIDIA to test and confirm these and will announce them before the game’s full launch.
NVIDIA RTX and DLSS add stunning calibre to Icarus’ environments in such a way that will make you say “wow!”. Though you’ll still be able to play and enjoy the game without them enabled, or if you don’t have a card with these options available.
AMD and other Graphics Cards
Other graphics cards that compare to our minimum and recommended specs will run Icarus as intended. However we do recommend NVIDIA graphics cards to get the full intended experience.
Quick FAQ:
Q: What can I expect my experience to be missing at lower specs?
A: The only difference will be the visual details. You won’t be restricted from any playable or interactive features if your specs are lower than recommended.
Q: How will I know which settings work for my PC?
A: By playing! Once you’ve landed on Icarus, play the game for a minute or two and adjust the settings as you see fit. Find a good balance between graphics, frame rate and overall performance by using our streamlined in-game menu settings “Low -> Medium -> High -> Epic"
Q: Will the Minimum and Recommended Specs change in the future?
A: Yes. We will make regular updates and improvements that enable Icarus to perform on the latest technology available. This means that we will adjust our recommended spec requirements as needed, and we will always inform you of such changes. We will also aim to ensure these Minimum Specs can always play the game, even if they don’t benefit from future graphics updates.
