I've noticed this after running through the campaign a couple of times that by far the best part of the game is during the Divine era. And this is of course partly due to it being designed better but also because it's such a breath of fresh air (and colour!) from the endless black and grey of Ruined to Imperial era.
It feels like the game could benefit a lot from having a Divine chapter or two somewhere during Ruined/Imperial just to shake things up a bit. It's simply too drab going from spooky void creatures to spooky skeletons.
In general, we should be moving around in the timeline a lot more. Aside from a few trips to the Ancient era, the vast majority of time traveling is a single straight-line trip from Ruined to Imperial to Divine with no detours. Making use of the fact that we can literally time travel to change things up a bit now and again would make the leveling experience so much more enjoyable.
