345s had here I'm like you know this isn't a
346s fantastic blessing to have for this
348s class so I'm just going
351s to a shot see if I can replace it with a

428s started H hi Mike hello are there plans
432s to make targeting better on controller
435s like being able to Target enemies behind
437s you or on top of you without having to
438s walk around to face them yeah this is
444s um there we go it should be better uh
446s this is this is a a problem we've been
448s we've been working on uh uh
452s there's there's a lot of situations
454s where like smart targeting can be really
457s bad and there's other times where it's
459s like if you don't have it it's way worse
463s um so we're we're trying to find that
465s that balance of of when to use it when
467s not to use it um and also trying to give
470s players a little more control over it um
473s but it's
474s it's it's it's a complicated thing to
476s say the least so we're still working on
478s the details there um
481s but yes it is something that is actively
482s being worked
486s on all right any plans on
489s adding a feeling when like one random
492s mob can just take you
494s out any plans on adding a system/
497s mechanic or maybe an item that allows
499s for rrolling stats on unique SL Idols it
502s is very painful and anticlimactic to get
503s a very rare unique even rare 1/2 LP just
506s to discover that it rolled lowest
507s possible stats SL implicits give range
512s um we don't have any active plans to do
515s something like that right now uh it's
517s not like uh we never do something like
519s that but um we stop messing things
525s up oh keyboard shortcuts learn them
527s they're
529s good we go better
533s um yeah we we we don't have any like
535s there's there's nothing in a pipeline to
537s say like oh do this um but you know I
540s don't think it's a impossible
544s thing
548s there's there's there's a lot of
550s different things that go into making the
552s like the perfect
554s item and we're really not trying to set
559s people up for the expectation of getting
561s the perfect item um the more tools we
564s give people to be able to customize
565s items to make them perfect uh some
568s sometimes it makes it more uh increases
570s the expectation of where items are in in
572s the uh quality
575s Spectrum on on their way to perpect type
578s thing and
581s um so like adding in something like this
584s does increase the ability to make like
588s it you can make a better item possibly
590s by taking those things you found and
592s rrolling them and all that sort of stuff
593s but then because this new tools added in
595s the expectation of what items you have
597s and the quality of the items you have
599s goes up with it um and I think that
603s there's you
604s know such a thing as too many ways to
607s improve your items and um you know the
610s expectations of items being too perfect
613s such that uh you know drops like things
615s that just drop without any
619s um modification on them can can feel
621s underwhelming because you have to and
623s this is this is sort of the the line
624s we've been writing because there are so
625s many things you can do to items that
627s quite often already even in last Epoch
629s when an item drops you kind of have to
630s be able to see what it could be not what
632s it is um which is tricky for new players
636s um even franchise players too sometimes
638s and um I it's it's it's definitely a
642s balancing act that we we struggle with
644s sometimes uh on on how best to handle it
647s but uh you know it's it's all stuff that
649s we are working
654s on WE the the number of I just want to
657s put this aside cuz this this is a topic
658s I really enjoy talking about as well the
660s um the number of like extra glyphs and
664s runes that we've debated discussed
666s pitched rejected approved all that sort
668s of stuff like those those conversations
670s are are
672s significant uh and we we we've we've
674s done a lot of um know know like
678s discussions on what types of effects we
680s want to add there and all that sort of
682s stuff so it's it is something that we
683s are trying to expand um but a uh the
689s wrong crafting material added to the
691s game at the wrong time could actually
693s make things worse pretty easily

708s a just needed one tiny little bit of a
711s jump out of
716s there can't get through one and powered
718s this character is never going to
720s complete a monolith
723s ever empowered monolith I should
726s say oh how are we going to fix
729s this we going to fix this weapon and
731s actually go for this or just go play our
732s our Druid or our
742s Beastmaster do we have one of the 90s or
745s 85s that sort of could use some love
748s increase armor we do not run a ton of
751s armor and flat
754s armor at least they're synergistic right
756s let's go here and try this one
758s out we'll do it at
763s 90 we're still only like 85 or something
766s 83 punch it a little bit above our
768s weight class as it
773s is okay next question are all the future
777s Cycles going to be as long as the first
779s one even though they'll all be uh
782s slightly different um our Target length
785s for all Cycles right now is 3 to 4
787s months
789s um so you know some of them will be
791s shorter some of them will be longer but
793s you know the goal is 3 to four months
795s there's there's all sorts of other
796s factors that play into pushing them one
798s way or the
800s other um like if we're just trying to
802s dodge a release with someone else or if
804s we're you know we've got like an extra
805s feature that we just got to got to
807s squeak in or maybe the patch before it
808s just took a little bit extra extra time
810s that we we thought we'd be able to start
811s working on this one sooner but we
812s couldn't which is kind of what's
814s happened here um cuz we we pushed so
816s hard for 1.0 that um we didn't have much
820s pre-work done on
827s 1.1 all right is the patch 1.1
830s ready no uh release made in Waiting June
834s no it's not ready at
837s all tons left to do on
840s it CTS haven't even seen it
849s yet all right is there any way you could
852s you all could add the ability to search
854s for t7 aix's in storage or J me if there
857s is a way um the the search in the
861s stashes uh right now just searches it's
864s just a string search
867s um so there's no like property searches
870s really um you might be able to search
873s for the word like the phrase tier 7 or
876s something like that uh something that
878s shows up in
880s the like tier colon space 7 you try try
884s that or try searching for drop only um
886s something something like that you might
888s you might find
893s it but we are looking to expand the uh
897s search capabilities

917s thus creating a paradox feedback loop

978s um you know the have to drop the the the
983s the big dream with last Epoch is like
985s it's here this is it this is the big
986s dream we've got it it's amazing right um
991s I uh I don't know if there I don't
993s there's many
996s like procedural generation uh is is the
1000s the next big wouldn't it be nice I think
1008s features proper procedural generation
1021s increased minion Health super useful on
1023s the
1027s falconer you
1030s know grab an exalted mace some cool some
1033s cool
1042s a uh what happens to the stash tabs
1045s after cycle ends I play offline cycle
1048s character so I guess for the first cycle
1050s the tabs will roll over to Legacy one
1052s the cycle ends no but what happens after
1054s cycle two will the new stash tabs that I
1057s bought during cycle 2 be add to the
1058s Legacy ones also no at the end of the
1060s second cycle what about the gold and
1062s mats yes um so the um the the the items
1067s you acquire the drops you
1070s find um the gold you get the idols the
1073s crafting materials the the gear all that
1075s stuff um can be transferred over and you
1078s can use that in the new cycle no problem
1081s um the tabs themselves are specific to
1084s that cycle and do not transfer over um
1087s so when you when you get it it's just a
1088s bunch of remove only tabs is the way
1091s it's set up right now um could change
1094s we'll see
1096s um but yeah it it shows up as um if you
1100s if you go to play in Legacy so like if
1103s you're um in the situation you're
1105s playing offline you played cycle one you
1108s um
1109s uh the cycle rolls over cycle 2 starts
1111s so the new cycle content is cycle 2 um
1115s and if you boot up a Legacy character if
1117s you put up that cycle character it's
1119s fresh from scratch nothing's there just
1121s like normal uh blank slight um then if
1124s you go to your Legacy character and go
1127s to your stash you'll see um the there's
1130s like a little there there's some extra
1131s UI we're adding in there to be able to
1132s switch between um previous cycles and
1136s the um current Legacy version
1141s um and you'll be able to pull stuff out
1142s of those tabs to use on Legacy if you
1144s want um you'll also be able to transfer
1147s your crafting materials and uh and and
1152s gold and things like that like the all
1154s all the all the extra stuff that's in
1156s that that's in your stash but is not
1158s really in your stash that's hard to
1160s quantify that's in your stash like for
1161s example your blessings are in your
1163s blessings are technically items in your
1164s stash
1166s um but they're just stored differently
1168s and like these crafting materials are
1170s crafting materials in your stash they're
1171s just stored differently um so you know
1174s those those things there'll be a button
1175s that you can merge those in and those
1176s will transfer over
1182s Nic but no the tabs themselves don't
1186s move at least that's what's currently
1188s there right
1191s now we're still we're still over a month
1193s away aren't
1196s we yeah
1200s uh are you going to Nerf builds like
1202s frostclaw run master and jailor Marksman
1204s that people enjoy playing to the point
1206s where they are uh unplayable next cycle
1208s or you're going to rather buff all the
1210s underwhelming um or outright bad builds
1213s in the game I I I think that the
1215s situation is so much more complex than
1218s this question allows for an answer to um
1221s so I'm not going to answer the question
1222s directly uh I I think that it would be
1226s um foolish of us to take either or of
1229s those stances and and do one or the
1231s other should definitely be both
1234s um yeah it's it's it's take taking an
1237s absolute view of the situation being
1239s like we're going to Nerf everything or
1241s buff everything and just do one is is
1243s just not uh uh it's it's both are going
1247s to end up with severe problems in the
1249s very near future um so like we we we
1252s have to look at the overall landscape of
1256s um uh of like how how builds are
1259s performing and and certain things that
1261s are that there are certain things that
1262s are dramatically way too high right now
1265s um in power levels and those will come
1267s down yes um there are things that are
1270s way underpowered and just aren't working
1272s the way we inent initially intended them
1274s to and those will come up
1279s um you know the goal is always to keep
1282s play styles that people have uh
1285s really uh like if if there's a specific
1288s place that someone's like oh my God I
1289s love doing this and it's it's a fun play
1291s style and that sort of stuff we we
1292s really like to focus on those as being
1295s things that we um that was really great
1299s uh that that we make sure it's still fun
1301s to play and are still viable and strong
1303s and all that sort of stuff but there are
1307s um it's it's it's not like there's
1310s a
1312s uh a rule about about not nerfing things
1315s cuz you know then we just end up with
1317s trillions and billions and quadrillions
1320s and SE illions of damage and it's just
1325s like why why why why are we all why are
1328s we allowing these numbers to go so
1329s insanely High
1332s um when when we can still keep them to
1334s be quite powerful but not have them be
1337s absurd you know
1349s all right when do we get lasty Puck
1354s merchandise in my dreams
1361s yesterday I know though I'm
1365s sorry uh are there plans on continuing
1368s steam deck compatibility um we have
1371s plans on beginning steam deck
1373s compatibility
1374s um we've the the amount that it works on
1377s Steam deck so far has been basically a
1379s fluke we've done a tiny little bit of
1381s stuff for seam deck at this point but
1382s not much um we do we we we've noticed a
1386s significant interest in Steam deck and a
1389s significant um you know number of
1392s players playing the game on Steam deck
1394s so it is it is something that we are uh
1396s interested in and
1399s um you know we're looking for ways to
1402s improve that experience uh I don't know
1404s if
1405s we're quite going to make it to that
1408s full official check mark just yet but I
1410s think uh I think it's on on on the
1416s horizon I just I just don't want to say
1418s like yes it's going to happen yet
1419s because it's it's not approved
1422s yet that they might have like steam
1424s might have some we we have to submit it
1426s to steam to be approved and like steam
1429s might come back and be like there's this
1430s thing that you have to do to make it
1432s fully approved and we're like that
1433s conflicts with some game thing we have
1435s and we just can't do that you know you
1436s just you just never know so um until
1439s steams approved us
1448s maybe uh why after defeating the
1450s timeline boss in the monel of Fate we
1451s reported to the timeline entrance area
1453s instead of the echo of a world post Echo
1455s area with our chest and vendor um
1458s because it would cause horrible problems
1460s otherwise uh and is required to not have
1463s gigantic
1466s bugs uh this is your irregular but
1468s tenous reminder that the K she rework
1472s chiped yep fair
1474s enough I'll take it well
1479s deserved you can't touch me it's not
1481s done yet
1483s sorry uh how long before 1.1 drops will
1486s we get the patch notes um generally it's
1488s just a few days um I'm sure we'll have a
1491s better timeline once we get closer but
1492s usually it's just a couple days
1499s we usually do a uh like a a patch we
1503s usually call Patch hype week um and so
1506s it's it's the uh week leading up to
1509s patch and um we usually have um like de
1512s blogs and articles on major features
1514s that are coming for that patch
1517s um and
1519s then uh the last the last post in that
1523s patch is the patch in in the in that
1526s hype week is the patch notes themselves
1532s and I do not see a good reason to
1534s deviate as it's been working quite well
1536s for us so
1547s far are we just going to stack
1549s everything on the Falcon and uh be like
1551s we're we're we're a we're a throwing
1556s build what's your beard regimen oh my
1558s gosh wa so little I I got really into my
1561s beard probably about I don't know five
1563s six years
1565s ago and then I was like you know what
1568s I'm kind of lazy uh so this is all I
1571s have now it is a very simple
1578s comb this is
1584s it that's
1586s it two or three times a day
1589s good to
1590s go
1593s um I was putting like you know like
1596s beard oil in my in my beard and it was
1598s fantastic but eh a little
1611s much also shampoo but hopefully that's a
1615s given
1619s all right any plans for new pets and/ or
1621s skill effects in
1623s 1.1 uh there are uh I don't I don't know
1628s what new MTX is coming in 1.1 um but
1631s there is some I would assume some of it
1633s is probably a pet at least um as far as
1637s skill MTX goes I do know that that is
1639s not ready for 1.1 the whole system for
1642s that to function is not set up so like
1645s that system needs to be built before we
1647s can uh
1649s you know uh use
1655s it all right hey Mike hello how are you
1659s with the addition of the evade mechanic
1661s plus the implementation of the new
1663s system replacing the dynamic damage
1665s reduction for bosses have you had a look
1667s at and rebalance all bosses it seems
1670s like significant changes coming in all
1672s at the same time that could impact those
1675s substantially um yeah there's there's uh
1681s like yes asteris so um you know like we
1686s we're definitely taking a look at all
1687s the bosses and making sure they're still
1689s that like they're they're playing good
1690s and they feel fine and all that sort of
1691s stuff we haven't you know like dedicated
1695s a a design meeting to every individual
1697s boss and like gone back with a fine
1698s tooth comb and been like all right let's
1699s examine every ability let's check every
1702s um every every system around this boss
1704s and like let's make let's let's like
1705s quantify how it's been affected and you
1707s know we we didn't go quite that far um
1710s but you know like as as you just play
1712s test the game when you know that there's
1713s these changes and you're like hey you
1715s know we made these big changes to bosses
1717s let's make sure we're keeping an eye on
1718s that and and taking notes and um talking
1722s about problem areas after the fact and
1723s things like that so so yeah like we we
1725s definitely do look at uh the changes to
1728s the bosses that come in with
1730s this um the the the dynamic
1735s um Dynamic boss Dr had a way bigger
1738s impact on how fights go than um the
1741s evade system
1749s did all right are MTX purchases going to
1751s be crossplatform accessible when the
1753s game goes to console I have no idea we
1756s are kind of far away from a question
1757s like that unfortunately um I do not have
1760s any information on how that will work I
1763s sincerely hope so
1767s um that's one of those things where we
1769s like
1771s um if we didn't there it would be
1774s because there was like some other
1776s company told us no or or like um you
1780s know there was some there was some tech
1781s reason where we're like well we either
1783s don't port or we you know like um it
1789s would have to be a pretty big reason to
1790s stop us from from doing that but I just
1791s don't want to say yes in case there's
1792s some reason I just don't know about
1804s cuz I know there's I know I know there's
1805s a lot of I know there's a lot of things
1807s I don't know about console
1816s development all
1818s rightz there's something that happened
1820s recently where I was like that's got to
1822s be a mistake like that's that's got to
1823s be just whoever's reporting this doesn't
1824s know what's happening there there's no
1826s way that's
1827s true uh and it turned out to be true and
1829s I'm like I just have no idea how
1830s consoles work do
1836s I was
1838s that I'm completely blanking I'm sorry
1841s all right moving on uh have you guys
1842s thought about making different variation
1844s of the same main theme music for each
1847s cycle some what ELD Scrolls do with the
1849s expansions I I don't know that's a cool
1851s idea
1853s um that the the the main theme was a
1856s pretty large undertaking um
1859s that's a cool idea uh I I have no idea
1861s if our um sound team and music team has
1865s uh uh considered that or not I I would
1868s say that's probably unlikely right now
1871s um just given that there is like there's
1873s a lot of stuff to do and variations on
1875s things we've already done is probably uh
1877s less impactful at the same time the main
1881s theme is heard by everyone when you
1882s started the game so that was close
1894s have you guys considered adding a key
1896s specific tab like the crafting materials
1898s yes many times um we're still working on
1901s exactly how to store Keys the best but
1903s we will be getting them out of your
1906s inventory
1909s stashes uh will we get more character
1912s slots with 1.1 I don't think so um I
1914s know we're still there's sort of a a a
1918s like a
1919s backlog um issue to change How We Do
1922s character slot limitations in the first
1924s place um which would make uh changing
1927s the number way
1930s easier
1936s um the way that limit is set right now
1938s is very unfortunate we we kind
1942s of we we used the system to set it and
1946s then kind of half a abandoned the system
1949s a little bit uh or changed how we were
1951s using the system is better way to put it
1954s um and not everything got converted over
1957s it's a bit of a mess with that but we
1958s are um I I know that's on the list
1961s to
1969s fix all right would it be a good idea to
1972s increase skill respect catch up XP to
1975s give players a bit more freedom to test
1976s early game I don't think so so um I
1979s think it's already incredibly forgiving
1982s and the um misconception that it's
1986s difficult to test things out early is
1988s perpetuated by unfortunate posts online
1991s I
1995s think uh hope you're well Mike I am
1997s thank you with D4 going easy
1999s mode this week uh is there any
2002s discussion on ehg about needing the 90
2005s to XP
2007s grind uh loving the game and grind uh I
2010s I I I don't think there's been any um
2014s discussion design discussions spur on by
2017s what's happening outside of last Epoch
2018s right now
2025s um I I mean we're we're pretty happy
2028s with the uh the leveling speed right now
2031s um I think there's a there's a really
2032s big difference
2034s between um
2039s I think there's a really big difference
2040s in Diablo um like Diablo 4 and uh some
2046s other games too that that do this and um
2049s like Poe and last eoch where the
2054s um like you're not you're not expected
2056s to hit level cap in last Epoch it's like
2058s level 100 is
2060s an a significant achievement that you
2063s can go for if you want it's it's a
2066s significant optional achievement it's
2068s it's not an
2070s expectation um but I think that most of
2072s the time like you look you look at most
2076s um like modern um modern blizzard games
2082s and and max level is is is definitely an
2089s expectation sort of like the old joke of
2092s like well before you hit max level it's
2094s just the tutorial which doesn't really
2097s uh but you
2100s know um I think the the tutorial for
2103s last epox stops at like level 80 level
2106s 70 somewhere in
2109s there if you're going to put that
2114s tutorial technically the tutorial for
2116s last he stops at like level 12
2130s if you
2132s had to play a Mastery on controller
2134s which would you
2136s pick bonus what happened to serpent stke
2138s boy I I figured it was kind of boring
2140s because I was doing so bad but you know
2142s maybe I'll switch I I'll I'll split the
2144s stream half and half I did really enjoy
2146s that
2148s one um if I had to play Mastery with a
2151s controller what would I pick uh honestly
2153s I think this build I'm playing right now
2155s would be awesome with the controller
2161s it's upstairs right now I I can't go get
2163s really quick I did recently buy a
2166s controller that is so good 8bit do 8bit
2169s do I don't know how to pronounce it but
2171s oh it's great might have to drop
2173s something
2189s maybe I would do something
2191s ranged I probably do something
2196s ranged
2200s uh there there's some Rune Master builds
2202s that are really good too with it because
2208s um because it just blows up the whole
2210s screen so you don't really have to
2214s aim all right is there any changes for
2216s how many slams we get
2219s after doing temporal sanctum there's so
2221s many low LP uniques I want to slam but
2223s repeating the dungeon every time is a
2225s chore um what I don't understand is why
2228s you would Nerf to the point uh this
2231s might be two separate questions it is
2232s wonderful
2235s um uh it's it's definitely a topic that
2238s the dungeon double double use of dungeon
2240s rewards is something we've been talking
2242s about
2245s um I I don't think there's any major
2247s changes to that coming in
2249s 1.1 um I think I saw a suggestion on
2254s redit question mark may have been a
2257s forum or something I don't know I think
2258s I saw a suggestion recently from the
2259s community um that was like just put
2262s another key in to like do it again um I
2265s I I I like that I thought it it doesn't
2267s change the like um the item economy
2271s structure at all um all it does is just
2273s like you just saves you a little bit of
2275s time really um you don't get the bonuses
2277s from killing the boss again which is
2279s fine um so yeah there's there's there's
2282s some adjustments in wiggle room in there
2283s I think I don't know what's going to
2284s happen specifically with it in 1.1 but
2286s um I would really like to see some you
2289s know just just some
2291s little uh improvements there I think
2293s would be
2301s good going for that
2303s one going for it we'll get
2306s there what I do don't understand is why
2309s you would Nerf to the point of gutting
2311s things like frostclaw run Master Etc
2314s it's in a strictly non-competitive game
2316s such as an RPG debatable uh the reason
2319s why uh people play RPGs is power fantasy
2322s uh how do you plan on fostering that
2324s power fantasy if you end up gutting
2325s builds like uh the afer mentioned that
2328s people enjoy a
2331s lot um I I I don't really do have time
2336s to get into this okay uh
2340s um let's pretend you've never played
2342s last Epoch before
2345s okay
2348s um
2353s and let's let's pretend you've never
2354s played last OK before and I tell you
2356s that this build I'm playing right now is
2357s the absolute most powerful build in the
2360s game absolute most powerful build in the
2362s game no matter what there's nothing
2364s better than
2365s it um and uh next bill next next patch
2370s and and and you don't you don't go check
2372s you don't you don't you you you just
2373s believe me you don't check anything you
2374s just like yeah Mike knows what he's
2375s talking about and you just you just you
2378s just believe me and that's it so truth
2380s of
2382s fact uh this is the most powerful build
2384s in the game right
2386s here um patch 1.1 rolls around and we
2391s change uh run Master frostclaw to be
2394s equally as powerful as this build is
2396s right here
2399s now of course you know sitting there
2400s that we've just nerfed it into the
2401s ground because this build I'm playing is
2403s terrible by comparison um but it is
2407s suddenly now in your world it has now
2411s become the most powerful build in the
2413s game it is the
2416s best and and maybe it is maybe it is
2418s actually the best now and it was the
2421s best before we just this huge Nerf and
2423s it's now the best and still the best um
2428s I guess what my my my point is is that a
2430s lot of the uh difference in what happens
2433s when a Nerf or buff happens in a patch
2436s it it doesn't really matter where it was
2438s before the patch all all it matters is
2440s where it is relative to other builds and
2443s what they can do what the what the power
2445s that you're trying to sell in the game
2447s is um so my question is why does it
2451s matter what the build was
2455s before uh but before patch happens um
2460s why why is that more important than
2462s where it is uh relative or po post patch

2542s up the the the other the other option
2546s is the other way a look at it I
2549s guess we don't touch the build at all we
2551s change literally nothing about it okay
2554s completely
2556s untouched and we just 10x every enemy's
2560s uh health and we 100x all of their um
2565s damage reduction percentages and we just
2567s like crank their toughness into the
2569s stratosphere and then we buff everything
2571s else in the game to be even more
2573s powerful than than frostclaw it's
2576s literally untouched and yet it's now the
2578s worst build in the
2580s game I I don't think I guess the point
2583s I'm trying to get at is is that are you
2586s going to Nerf it are you going to buff
2587s it I don't think it's the right question
2588s to ask
2590s um and I I I don't think it really
2595s conveys uh I I don't think there's a way
2597s to answer the
2600s question that that that really shows uh
2603s I don't know a healthy progression for
2606s builds going forward and and where the
2608s game's going to end
2615s up it's a very very complex situation
2618s and I'm
2620s uh I do have a tough time going into
2623s details on on how we go through the
2625s process on stream so hopefully I haven't
2628s completely oversimplified something or
2629s just said something completely wrong but
2631s you never know
2638s all right hello in a lot of builds
2640s there's always seems to be some sort of
2641s traversal skill yes that is very common
2643s for traversal skill in a build um is
2646s there any talk about adding a method to
2648s customize the evade mechanic being
2650s introduced to be a little more
2651s customizable teleporter Dash or charge
2653s Etc so it opens up an additional skill
2656s slot for further character diversity um
2658s yeah the the the goal is not to replace
2660s traversal skills with with
2663s evade
2664s um so I I I don't want you to to uh be
2668s expecting a way to uh crank up the
2671s mobility on it to the point where it is
2674s um taking the place of a traversal skill
2677s um if you want a traversal skill play a
2679s traversal skill um we having said that
2683s we do have plans to add in
2688s um uh you know you know like way ways to
2691s customize how it plays um and there's
2694s all sorts of things that can mean I
2695s don't have any details on what that is
2697s yet because we we are still uh designing
2698s some of those things
2701s um but they can
2704s like um can say something ridiculous
2707s let's say something absolutely
2708s ridiculous that we're definitely not
2709s doing um just as an example so I don't
2712s accidentally say something we are or
2713s aren't doing so this is definitely not

2724s use evade yeah something completely over

3089s system is it starts with Dr um and that
3092s goes up if you do a bunch of damage to
3094s it and goes down if you don't do a bunch
3095s of damage to it um and that is

3237s bosses and balance is ehg attempting to
3239s make most builds be able to clear them
3241s or are we expecting more specific builds
3242s for
3243s it um there's a lot
3248s of it's it's it's a it's a fine line you
3251s know um I think
3254s that
3257s uh certain builds will have an easier
3259s time with it um and so you'll be able to
3262s do it with worse gear and so like
3264s certain builds will be uh less powerful
3267s and be able to do it but you'll need uh
3269s to have you know better gear So like um
3273s whatever the like s tier builds after
3275s the Patch
3276s are we'll probably be able to do it with
3278s you know like just worse gear than the
3282s um like a b tier build type
3286s thing um there's also a pretty
3289s significant you know player skill
3290s component to it so like
3293s um uh a person trying it for the first
3296s first
3298s time will need a lot better gear and a
3302s lot better build to be able to do it on
3303s their first try than uh someone who's
3305s done it 100 times you know because there
3307s are mechanics to learn and uh you
3309s know just you do something enough times
3312s you get better at
3316s it so
3319s yeah it's it's a really hard question to
3321s answer I think that um given enough gear
3326s given like enough gear and enough
3328s experience um pretty well any
3331s semi-reasonable build will be able to
3333s handle it um but
3339s like um
3341s like cycle starters with uh limited gear
3346s and first time ever trying it you know
3348s it's proba probably a very probably
3349s won't be too many builds that fall to
3350s that category
3359s that was
3363s close it's going to be
3370s tough and I I realized that I basically
3373s just described every boss fight
3377s ever all right what are the chances of
3379s getting throwing based weapons that have
3381s implicits that have the base flat damage
3383s added to throwing skills or a throwing
3385s relevant core stats such is int strength
3387s decks Etc um we don't we this is
3390s something that's been suggested many
3391s dozens of times we have no intention of
3393s doing it if we were to do it the base
3395s damage of pretty well every throwing
3397s ability would be reduced by uh a number
3401s similar to whatever the flat and placet
3404s um that that's going on items is so
3407s like I mean sure we could do it but
3410s we'll also Nerf the skills into the
3411s ground at the same time so you're
3414s probably better off just leaving where
3414s that is uh all right is there a specific
3417s technical reason why there is an
3419s animation difference when teleporting
3421s out of an echo between online and
3422s offline yes in online in offline we get
3425s a loading screen perhaps or whereas in
3427s online we have a cool blurred animation
3429s and instant Port yes um the the game is
3433s made up of
3434s scenes um and so like the Frozen
3436s Fortress that's a scene and it's like
3438s the this whole
3440s thing
3441s um and you know scenes can
3445s be uh
3450s um uh the when you're playing online um
3455s and the server is running things not
3457s your computer um multiple scenes get
3460s added get loaded
3462s simultaneously that actually happens in
3464s offline too but it's the UI is the other
3466s scene but that doesn't matter anyways um
3468s so the the echo of a world um that like
3472s between scene is um is additively loaded
3479s to um whatever echko gets gets loaded up
3483s that that's why whenever you know
3484s whenever you start an echo um too easy
3488s in in a mon run and like everyone's
3490s screen freezes for a minute what's
3491s happening is the previous Echo is being
3494s removed from memory and the uh the new
3496s Echo is being added into memory it's
3498s loading those scenes
3501s um but because players have to exist in
3505s both simultaneously
3507s um and because of a whole bunch of other
3510s weird stuff that was happening with it
3512s in online uh we had to make it into the
3514s same scene um so it had to be loaded
3517s simultaneously they had to exist at the
3518s same time in the same Zone
3522s um which which means when you leave the
3525s Echo and go back to this to Echo a world
3528s here um because it's still sitting in
3531s memory it's still just floating out
3532s there in the middle of space you can it
3534s it does the exact same thing that the
3535s ability teleport does and it just moves
3537s you to that location you're not actually
3539s loading a new scene but in offline you
3541s only get one scene loaded at a time um
3544s and so when you go to Echo world you
3546s actually have to load the scene
3555s then all right is oh that's the same
3558s question a bunch of
3561s times uh considering stuff like 4,000
3563s corruption is never supposed to be
3564s achieved why is it a thing um because we
3568s made a mistake uh and builds got way
3572s more powerful than we thought they ever
3576s good uh I get that having an infinitely
3579s scaling uh difficulty is nice and all
3582s but how different is it really from
3583s something like the thing like the
3585s difficulty scaling of Greater Rifts
3587s which isn't as fluid as corruption but
3589s is still smooth difficulty curve that
3590s caps out at a certain point at which
3592s point people can try to clear the
3593s content faster if they want to be
3595s competitive um
3598s second question

3607s um I don't have a good answer for why
3609s it's a thing really compared to to
3611s putting a cap on it I guess it's just
3613s that possibility of it can always go
3616s higher
3617s um you know we're I think hoping
3621s for um people to still be able to push

3628s of uh pushing higher slow down uh as as
3633s they get higher um so you know you're
3635s not ending up with thousands and
3637s thousands thousands of corruption U but
3639s you're still making progress if you if
3641s you really want to push higher so
3643s there's always that like it's a higher
3645s number
3647s but the differences get harder and
3649s harder now yeah you you you bring up the
3651s like the the other half that is just
3653s having a secondary um measuring stick
3657s for for whatever the top tier is I think
3661s the big it's It's tricky because it kind
3663s of happens anyways with an infinitely
3664s Skilling system I think you you kind of
3667s end up in that like oh if a build can't
3670s do whatever the cap
3673s is it's not viable

3743s Pinnacle bosses designed to balance
3745s melee versus Range builds um I we
3748s don't yes Asis so we don't exactly sit
3752s there and say like okay let's let's test
3754s every uh melee build let's test every
3757s range build and average the clear speeds
3760s and uh oh this one's faster so I guess
3762s we've got to you know like like so we
3764s don't go that far with it however um it
3767s is it is a bit of a
3772s um it is something that we we check um
3775s when we're designing the abilities when
3777s we're designing the when we are play
3779s testing it you know it is it is a factor
3781s that we look at and say like okay is is
3783s this fair for melee is this fair for
3784s range that sort of thing
3787s um but it's less of a like
3791s strict is it equal that makes any
3797s sense we definitely definitely take
3799s melee into account when designing the
3801s abilities themselves and there are times
3802s where ranged characters will be forced
3805s into melee
3816s and and like we we we already do that on
3818s some some fights anyway

3842s go I love playing this build online uh
3845s with my friends because uh just the
3847s sheer portal uh potion volume that drops
3850s is a little

4239s Universe it's um it's organic that sort

4259s to defenses uh what were the arguments
4262s for leech instead of Life on
4266s hit I remember this debate

6491s that it's it's had a lasting impact on

6497s confident that with the changes we are

7126s have name dropped Elden ring a few times

7130s take um inspiration from outside of RPGs
7134s um intentional and accidental for sure
7138s um like the if if you look at we didn't
7142s go into it with its intention um but if
7145s you look at like the general structure
7146s of how uh our dungeons are designed it's
7150s the same structure of how Zelda dungeons
7152s designed um with many gigantic
7156s differences but like you you go into the
7160s dungeon um you get your dungeon ability
7163s the item you find in the dungeon in
7164s Zelda um you have to use that ability to
7168s solve puzzles throughout the dungeon to
7170s get to the boss you have to use the
7171s Zelda item to solve puzzles in the
7173s dungeon to get to the boss um and then
7175s once you get to the boss that item or
7177s that ability is the D the boss's weak
7180s point it's the thing you need to use to
7181s to beat that boss I mean and then you
7183s get a unique reward um from that
7187s dungeon it it's it's
7190s like the most vague way to describe our
7193s dungeons Zelda dungeons but like that
7195s that same general um overarching concept
7199s and and style I think is something that
7202s we kind of I I I I think because it's so
7205s similar we were probably drawn to it um
7208s because so many of us have played that
7209s like it's I
7210s I there one of the things we realized
7212s after the fact and we're like that's
7214s cool
7215s um but lots of times I think inspiration
7219s for things comes from places you don't
7220s even realize it's happening um
7223s um and like so the person who pitched
7225s Rune Master had never actually played
7227s Dota 2 I don't think um but it's the
7231s Rune Master is essentially identical to
7234s um like the the underlying idea of like
7237s you use abilities you generate uh Runes
7239s of that element type and then you
7242s activate invocation to uh the invoker to
7246s to to to use a big ability like that
7248s that type of General style is it's
7250s represented in many different games and
7252s like lots of us have played different
7253s games that that use it so like you know
7255s there's there's lots of different things
7256s that you draw from by mistake sometimes
7259s um and it's yeah so yeah it comes from
7262s outside of airs all the
7264s time oh there's a little
7268s bug there's a tiny little visual
7271s bug you see all of these are behind the
7275s number and this one the like the glow
7278s when it when it's like hey look at me is
7279s like shining in front of the number it's
