Hey guys,

long term arpg fan here, since D1, D2 and 3, Sacred (why do I remember it so fondly?), TQ and PoE. I've heard a lot of praise for LE and would like to get in. I would be very grateful if you could help me out, newb-fog is on the horizon.

  1. Due to hardware constrains atm, I can only play at GeForce Now. Where would be the best place to get LE considering this? LE official website or steam? (GFN requires LE to be in steam library)

  2. I imagine there isn't any ETA on the game going out of beta and into full release, but once that does happen, do devs plan on wiping the realm and progression, or will it just transfer from beta to full release, keeping all the progress?

  3. How's the balance of chracters and classes? I imagine there are meta builds as everywhere, but are the non-meta builds able to perform well, that would allow to progress through all the content, albeit with more effort than meta builds? I prefer to make my own mistakes and figure out things slowly, rather than follow someone elses build just because it's more efficient.

  4. How's the item and power progression? are uniques and legendaries interesting in effects or are the top items just stat sticks?

  5. what's the relation of skill check versus gear check? In the sense does the game require you to learn it and constatly use your skills as a player or can you just steam roll content once you get good gear?

  6. what's the worse part about the game in your opinion?

Thanks a lot and I hope to see you guys soon.

I can help with question 1 that seems to be stumping people.

Regardless of where you buy, website or Steam, you get the exact same stuff. If you buy it on Steam, you get all the extras that come in the website pack (and if you really want our inferior launcher, you can use that too). If you buy it on the website, you are prompted to connect a Steam account and when you do Last Epoch gets added to your inventory on Steam.

The only difference that I'm aware of pertains to reviews. If you buy it on our website, a Steam review doesn't count towards the positive/negative rating on Steam.

Also, I think that there is a bug with GFN at the moment where steam won't sync loot filters so that's a little annoying.
