[2022] Returning player problems loading echoes

I recently returned to the game after a break of a few months. I have a few characters between level 70-80 and wanted to return to end game farming for a new build. I am having a problem with the game going to the loading screen after selecting an echo and then crashing the game. Has anybody had this problem in the past? I Google searched but didn't come up with anything useful.
