470s | Legacy right now um and there won't be |
472s | any difference in content between cycle |
474s | and Legacy when the the reset happens |
476s | either so if you're playing a new |
477s | character in uh in cycle and you you |
479s | really want to just keep playing that |
481s | character but don't want to lose access |
482s | to any content or anything you wanted to |
484s | do you can just keep playing that |
485s | character you don't have to switch over |
486s | to the new cycle um the new cycle is for |
490s | if you want to engage in a fresh um |
493s | economy |
494s | environment uh or compete on the the new |
500s | ladder but if you're just looking to |
502s | have some fun and keep playing your |
504s | character you can keep playing your |
505s | character there's no there's no aberoth |
507s | lock out this time there's no like it's |
509s | it's just everything's the same except |
511s | for the um the bizarre like the economy |

1159s | collecting data and and looking at |
1160s | feedback so if you are if you do like it |
1162s | do tell us and it will influence our |

1319s | searches for the for the merchant |
1320s | skilled makes the barrier to putting in |
1322s | the loot filter a lot |
1324s | lower um there's there's there's a few |
1326s | differences in like designing what we |
1329s | want to exist in each of those things |
1331s | it's not just a straight because it's in |
1332s | one it should be in the other um you |
1335s | know like there's there's certain things |
1336s | that are intentionally in just one or |
1338s | the other |
1344s | um no |
1346s | room but I got to say I would not hate |
1348s | it |
1353s | am I any balanc patches planned before |
1355s | 1.2 um there's no no no like big |
1359s | overhaul balance patches planned between |
1361s | now and then I don't think um but that |
1363s | doesn't mean we can't you know that |
1365s | doesn't mean it's impossible um just cuz |
1367s | something's not planned right now |

1451s | there's a much more uh realistic |
1454s | solution to that problem than making the |
1457s | zones persist for us cuz having the |
1459s | zones persist is uh it's one of those |
1461s | things that you're like well just don't |
1463s | unload it we're like yeah it is so not |
1465s | that simple um and |
1469s | you know the sometimes |
1472s | the like reporting the core of the |
1475s | problem and not uh Wishful solution ends |
1478s | up getting us to a to a solution a lot |
1480s | faster um so if we just look at the at |
1483s | the problem of its losing loot that |
1485s | you've that was in a zone that you |
1487s | missed um it's also not just dying it's |
1490s | um you know a minion killed killed |
1493s | something behind uh behind you in your |
1495s | travels and you didn't notice that there |
1497s | was this this item that you really |
1498s | wanted and sort of stuff and you know |
1500s | there's there's other things than just |
1501s | dying there's like oh I portal out too |
1503s | quickly I just didn't see it you know |
1505s | there's there's a lot of um there's a |
1506s | lot of ways that you can lose loot um |
1510s | maybe it dropped and was inaccessible |
1512s | due to like the some of the dungeon |
1514s | barriers or I was like off a cliff or |
1517s | something like that so there's a lot of |
1518s | different ways that it can like that's |
1519s | those different scenarios where that |
1521s | problem can show up um and so finding a |
1523s | solution that fixes all of those |
1524s | problems is really important and just |
1525s | being able to go back into the Zone |
1526s | doesn't fix all those situations |
1529s | um also going back in the zone is way |
1532s | harder for us than other possible |
1534s | solutions um so we're we're looking |
1536s | elsewhere to fix those problems |
1550s | really and there's no there's no way to |
1552s | know that so it's |
1555s | like not not saying you guys should |
1557s | should be aware of internal workings and |
1559s | what's a hard |
1560s | problem but |
1569s | yeah would be |
1573s | incredible all right will you guys oh |
1579s | here will you guys abandon the 1.2 1.3 |
1582s | labels and go to a cycle 2 three or |
1585s | season uh everyone I talked to is beyond |
1588s | confused with patch 1.2 1.3 moniker um |

1597s | to kind of just stick stick with the the |
1599s | numbering scheme cuz once there was a |
1600s | pattern it would be easy to see the |
1602s | pattern |

1612s | specific plans to change it right now |
1614s | but I can uh I see where you're coming |
1617s | from and I do agree there's a problem |

1642s | confusing I think the biggest issue is |
1644s | that the patches are decoupled from the |
1646s | Cycles in a in a like technical |
1650s | perspective and |
1655s | um like a lot of times I think we put |
1657s | too much emphasis on the like the |
1659s | technical patch |

1716s | assuming that's what you're what you're |
1717s | talking about um I think the like |
1722s | theming available and the like |
1724s | environmental storytelling that becomes |
1725s | available with things like that and the |
1727s | um like cool factor is just awesome just |

1735s | um I think it's a it's it tends to be |

1741s | um a feature that Fades into kind of the |
1746s | background as you get into the end |

1770s | bunch of enemies that pop out and you |

1785s | know there's there there's lots of |
1786s | things like that lots of examples that's |

1812s | there be an option to disable the screen |
1814s | the on-screen keyboard I mean steam |

1822s | that's a hop into the suggestions and |
1824s | posted there and we'll we'll talk about |

2035s | want or R of discovery puts random axes |
2039s | on all available slots and it's a yellow |

2051s | peasy when shrines cast abilities are |
2055s | they separate from the player skill |
2056s | trees for example does hammer throw tree |
2058s | impact the type of hammer thrown damage |
2061s | dealt Etc from the shrine |
2064s | hammers skill trees do apply to |
2067s | abilities that that are cast |
2069s | automatically from clicking on a shrine |
2071s | so when you click on a shrine you get a |
2073s | buff that starts spamming that ability |
2075s | and if you have that ability specialized |
2078s | on your character and you have effects |
2079s | on that skill tree they will apply they |
2081s | do work um there are a couple nodes that |
2085s | don't play nice cuz you don't have like |
2086s | a proper Target location and there's |
2089s | like it's just randomly casting it at |
2090s | enemies so like there's a few quirks |
2092s | that happen there so there's a few |
2094s | things that aren't perfect right now um |
2097s | but yes they do use your skill trees |

2106s | great this is this was um yeah it was it |
2110s | was one of the things we started using |
2111s | it they weren't using the skill trees |
2112s | and we're like oh would be really cool |

2155s | improving our localizations for existing |
2157s | language and expanding to new languages |
2160s | that's it's a really important part of |

2168s | um it's it's sort of like the most core |
2170s | accessibility option we can include in |
2172s | the game |
2174s | um and uh so it is it is really |
2176s | important to us we are working on |
2177s | expanding it I don't have any specifics |
2179s | off hand on uh exactly which ones are |

2191s | it's actually a cool uh it's a cool |
2195s | item not not for us really right now but |
2202s | um it's got some axes that landine up |
2208s | decent that was a lot of them landing at |
2212s | once we dodged a a nuclear warhead there |

2222s | build feels like we're short one maybe |
2224s | two items for full full B chos yeah it's |
2227s | kind of always just like buzzing on the |
2230s | outer edges of viable build territory |
2233s | isn't it um I I think I think it's one |
2236s | of those things like it it might take a |
2238s | few more patches before it finally you |
2240s | know really kicks off |
2244s | um it's a bit of a meme and so I think |
2247s | we're a little hesitant to make the |
2249s | memes too |

2256s | um but having them be strong is not bad |
2259s | just just I think there's I think |
2261s | there's a line where if it's like well |
2262s | the best thing to play in last defx is a |
2265s | beekeeper um that |
2280s | all right is there going to be an |
2283s | endgame overhaul or at least an entire |
2285s | separate way to play the in-game content |
2287s | instead of just endless monos um I mean |
2289s | so we are I think the focus we're doing |
2292s | is on a few fronts is |
2296s | um you know addressing the issues with |
2298s | the dungeon system which is the I guess |
2300s | the secondary endgame system that's kind |
2302s | of it not being good enough as a system |
2305s | overall with the the way that you act |
2308s | with it multiplayer the way that you uh |
2310s | like the death penalties associated with |
2311s | it specifically um all of that is |
2314s | specifically regarding the uh like the |
2317s | leadup to the dungeon uh and things like |

2571s | um you know like usually usually there's |
2574s | at least two people sometimes three four |

2578s | balancing stuff and it's it it needs it |

4843s | be even for ranged in melee if that |
4845s | makes any sense um you we we try and |
4848s | make them reasonable and possible and |
4849s | doable and viable and all sort of stuff |
4850s | range melee but having them be exactly |
4852s | the same difficulty for each and every |
4854s | situation is I think less interesting |
4857s | and um I think that's one of the fun |
4858s | things about having uh having a |
4861s | character where you come up in |
4862s | situations where you're like I am a God |
4864s | look at how fast I killed this and |
4866s | situations were like o here's my |
4867s | character's weakness and it's like a |
4869s | really tough fight that you got to |
