259s has not that that's not tied to your
261s character level or any one end game

271s um with item factions is all it really
273s was so um this is a
277s um an end game progression system that
279s is not tied to experience
281s um as as because you'll use favor to
284s uh to progress along these faction

290s and it's I think one thing that may not
293s have been clear in the in the initial

295s um but I'm pretty sure was mentioned is
298s that the

301s um this item faction system is an early
304s part of an overarching favorite system
307s so the uh there we are building the UI
310s for this we're building the the design
312s for it in a way that we are planning to
314s have other factions show up
318s um that will that will that will work in
320s different ways so it won't be like a
323s okay so look I I I don't know why I love
327s drawing on my screen to explain stuff

336s like the items category of factions and
339s then you'll you'll have that split into

346s and then you'll have like another
349s factions uh another different faction
351s they'll be split into two and you might

355s two and you'll be able to like pick one
358s and then pick this one and then pick
359s this one and and so they're not
362s exclusive

364s they're not exclusive with each like
368s you pick one out of this group you can
369s still pick one out of this group
372s um and maybe maybe this one is actually
373s Four and you have to pick one and four
375s or something like that so there's

378s we're building it as a as a larger
380s faction system uh and just the first one
382s the first piece of it to show up is the
384s items
398s and and yes things have changed a little
400s bit
401s um but that's just that's what happens
403s as you implement systems they adjust
406s slightly but nothing nothing major it
409s wasn't like a big paradigm shift or
410s anything like that it was just sort of a
412s hey we've got this item faction or this
415s faction system that is coming
417s um do we want to like can we use the
419s items can we use it to implement uh
422s trade not trade optional system as well
423s at the same time
428s I also did see a question on uh I think
430s it was Reddit but I can't remember about
433s uh the the the the
436s um portal opening time so now we have
438s the
439s um the portals that have uh the VFX
444s portals the MTX portals there we go MCX
446s portals uh now apply to your
449s uh
451s the green portals can now be changed how
453s they look
455s um and those concerns about the opening
457s animation time the portals are
458s functional the instant they're created
460s and you don't have to wait for the
462s animation to finish to use them so you
464s can just like just slip into it right
466s away and you may have just seen that
467s happen as I was
468s um leaving the last Model that the
470s portal did uh was functional a fraction
473s of a second after it opened

476s after it started opening

492s about that and the information we've
495s announced in the past would say it is

631s does the new arpg on the Block do that
634s you wish you could uh instead I'd like
637s to ask what uh they do you can do and
640s are considering how to present it slash

645s there's there there isn't anything that
648s I can say like we've we've looked at and
651s said hey let's go do that so nothing

656s because we've got a lot of things on our
659s plate already that we're like okay this

662s there's lots of things we've looked at
663s and said hey that would be cool to do
665s um so the first half year suggested uh
668s or a question there but um
671s there's there's nothing that's like high
673s enough priority
674s that were like okay that'll bump this
676s feature that'll bump this feature

679s it's really nothing but uh

711s I think I think what it really like the
713s thing that stuck out that sticks out to
715s me is the um the casting animations are
717s really good and in some cases like
721s pretty intense
723s I'm pretty involved especially when it's
724s going to be a like a longer a longer
727s cast effect
730s and a bigger impact ability

734s like the it's a lot of presentation
736s stuff that they've done really really
737s really great job on

740s it comes as a shock to no one really

746s and there's there's a lot of
748s so there's a lot of discussions that
750s come in about like comparing systems and
752s things like that and like oh is there a
753s system you can pull from one game to
755s another game that sort of stuff like can
756s can this game Implement that game's
758s whatever system
759s um and it's not just D4 this is the sort
761s of conversation that's happened since
763s we've started making this
765s um
766s and almost always my response is that
769s system works great in that other game
771s you know
773s um
774s and it's really rare that you can you
776s can cherry pick a system from one to
778s another because because usually there's
780s a reason why you you've implemented it
783s in a certain way there's a reason why
784s you
785s um
786s like like you know it's hard to explain
789s the the way these the systems all
792s interact with each other has a huge
793s impact on their on their individual
795s system functionality and how they feel
797s and that sort of stuff and um
800s I don't know I'm really not a big fan of
801s I'm trying to take an individual
803s specific system and say hey let's let's
805s pull this
807s um
808s like whatever system from that game to
811s this game and usually it just doesn't
814s fit and there's
816s um
816s you know like as you're developing that
818s you're developing all sorts of things
819s simultaneously and
821s uh
824s you can't pull if you can't pull
826s everything which you can't
828s um
830s I don't know It's tricky to pull
831s anything
835s so we like to just focus on our game and
837s try and
838s make our own stuff that we think is cool
847s hope that makes sense
854s all right there's not much known about
856s lost memories that's true
859s unless I brought it up you said the
861s original version for it wouldn't work
862s anymore with the changes made to other
864s end game systems over the years however
866s you guys kept it around because of some
868s of the Thematic stuff it really hits is
870s it still the case uh and if so what are
873s those thematics if it's been changed can
875s you talk about it from a high-low
876s perspective

881s um so I I guess lost memories as like a
884s concept is
886s ah
888s high-level concept lost memories
890s would be a system like really broad sort
893s of like a general description of the
895s system but not describing the details of
897s how it would function and all that work
899s kind of a system to
905s it would it would part of part of what
906s it would be would be to draw in
909s um
910s information from the world and help with
912s storytelling help with World building
913s would be a big part of it so like
916s um let's assume lost memories uh have
920s each each one of them has like a story
921s piece associated with them let's just
924s assume whatever whatever lost memories
925s are
927s um and and you can you you're using
929s these items as pieces of a story and I
932s just clicked of an interesting uh
934s relevant example of the current game
936s that just came out
937s um
939s the uh if you play Tears of the Kingdom
941s the new Zelda game just came out there's
943s a one of the one of the quests one of
945s the main story quests is to collect
947s tiers of uh tears tears of something I'm
951s trying to say this without spoiler
952s screening I haven't seen it
957s these little teardrops you have to go
958s around the world and collect
960s uh they're in specific places and they
961s they have a big story moment that goes
963s with them
965s um and when you get all them something
967s happens and you get a big thing that
969s does cool stuff
972s um awesome game if you haven't played it
975s everyone I mean it's not like it needs
977s championing because it's yeah it's
980s obligated anyways
981s um
982s having this this like thematic tie-in to
985s the storyline for a mechanical system
989s um that that revolves around things to
991s collect
992s and
994s um
996s I'm sorry I'm being so vague it's really
998s hard to talk about it without discussing
1000s what original plans were because you
1002s know you might you might still use
1003s something similar
1005s um
1006s being so vague I'm not really saying
1007s anything I'm sorry
1010s but yeah it's
1012s still there's still room to and we still
1015s want to incorporate more of a
1017s um a storyline interaction with with an
1020s end game system like that that that
1021s really
1022s um draws on the time travel elements and
1025s draws on the fact that like hey these
1027s are like there could be alternate
1029s timelines maybe or there could be
1031s um just like things that you maybe never
1034s never knew about or like like other
1036s characters that have experienced this
1037s this time traveling before without you
1039s or you know things like that where
1041s there's ways to explore the storyline
1043s through mechanical system
1045s um
1047s and having those be discreet
1049s things in the world
1056s I think that broad description could
1058s still very well be used
1060s I'd like to see it
1070s I mean they're really obvious like we
1071s can't do this because the way our
1072s crafting system works but the really
1074s obvious like example this would be like
1075s okay well here's here's a memory and
1078s once you've like collected all the
1080s pieces of the memory you're like here's
1081s here's a memory and there's maybe you
1083s need like it's a Memory about some
1085s character who is fighting wingari and so
1087s you need to get like five uh drops from
1089s wangari that are not items that are like
1091s like uh monster infrequence or something
1092s and like you combine them with the
1094s memory and it like unlocks the memory
1096s and there's like a story moment that you
1097s can watch if people answer something or
1099s read if you want or something and then
1100s like the item then sockets to your gears
1102s like I'm making this up as they go so
1104s something like that if that makes any
1105s sense
1108s foreign
1117s hard horribly all right the monolith
1120s became a drag with the uh area with the
1123s two chests in the blacksmith always the
1125s same is it possible to have uh wandering
1128s Wildlife like dogs and toucans walking
1130s around the mini dinosaurs randomized uh
1133s you mean the the rest area
1135s you could use would be some some
1137s revitalization maybe
1139s um
1140s I don't uh I I won't write anything down
1143s from suggestions on stream here so if
1145s you've got a suggestion like that please
1146s head over to the forums
1149s all right uh my last question okay now I
1153s assume this I assume you guys do not uh
1156s do not
1157s do not to date for 1.0 uh but is there a
1160s road map for wall 2 1.0 all the features
1162s that are planned before full launch I
1164s not really so the um we do have a date
1167s planned for 1.0
1169s maybe an internal goal for 1.0
1172s um and we have a list of features that
1176s are sort of our like internal must-haves
1181s um
1182s and then we've got another huge list of
1184s features that are our
1186s um
1187s hopes we have for it
1191s um and we can't really put those hope we
1194s have features on our roadmap
1197s um
1199s because there's a lot of them there's a
1200s lot more than we think will be possible
1202s to to get in for 1.0 and so there's like
1204s almost no matter what that list is going
1206s to be have things missing off of It from
1208s the 1.0 launch
1210s um so the things that were like okay
1212s well this is getting in for 1.0 no
1213s matter what like all the resources go
1215s make it happen type features there's
1217s only like three of them
1219s um and so something our roadmap is just
1220s like
1222s masteries
1224s item factions
1228s performance improvements
1233s oh yeah it's kind of an underwhelming uh
1235s road map to release you know
1238s um especially because we are doing a ton
1240s of other stuff it's just those the only
1242s things that were like these are full for
1244s sure be in like we're doing these
1250s um it's really that's about it
1253s foreign
1272s XP XP what's the bad thing yeah it's
1275s fine did folks attacking me anyways I
1277s don't have any minions
1281s all right will you be buffing set pieces
1284s a little uh a little bit to make them a
1286s bit more viable not talking Diablo level
1288s sets but at least make it where you'll
1291s want to pick it up
1292s um we have a plan for set items
1296s um
1297s in a more systematic level change so
1301s something that will
1302s change the way set items interact with
1304s the item systems in general and and the
1306s other other items you're collecting and
1308s things like that
1310s um we're not prepared to
1313s quite reveal what that is and how that's
1315s gonna work
1316s um
1320s because it's still in
1322s uh like just out of design
1325s phase
1328s but we will continue to rebalance
1330s the game as we go
1333s in general

1337s rebalance changes you'd like to see

1341s suggestions section

1811s raycast to detect the right things the
1813s right layer something about the layer

1827s trying to work out a new way to have
1828s abilities interact with other abilities
1830s so it's gonna see if it's gonna like hit

1954s getting getting a few in is not that big

1961s more attention than just like hey let's

1969s so it's it's it's hard to make changes
1971s like that without taking a more granular
1973s look at those trees
1975s um so I'd say like
1977s it's it's gonna be an ongoing thing and
1979s then that's just like the nature of of
1982s passives in general like they're gonna
1983s be continue to evolve as we go

2028s uh I've seen the game got some backlash
2030s on Steam Reviews after adding micro
2032s transactions
2033s uh that was one of the reasons people
2037s gave but it was unfortunately incorrect

2043s what is your opinion on it personally
2044s I'm confused as to why the people will
2045s be so upset about it knowing what
2047s questions were coming in the whole time
2049s and the pricing is even that bad
2051s um I I think that there's uh there are
2054s some fundamental uh ideals revolving
2058s around this sort of thing where there
2059s are
2061s um you know there's there's
2064s is hard
2066s things that are
2069s sometimes considered just just bad no
2071s matter what
2073s um like the term the term loot box
2076s is here I'm gonna send loot boxes here
2079s ready ready for this
2082s um
2083s I I think that as soon as you hear the
2085s term loot box and almost every single
2087s implementation of the Box I've seen has
2088s been awful almost every single one
2091s um and as soon as you hear the term the
2093s knee-jerk reaction is oh my God no
2096s um and it doesn't really matter what the
2097s other information around it is it's just
2099s this is bad
2101s and
2102s um I I think that happened to a degree
2104s here
2106s um where the the all the information
2108s wasn't taken into account and the
2112s information that
2113s um if you selectively pick pieces of
2115s information not maliciously just because
2117s that's the information you see from like
2119s a YouTube video maybe or
2122s um just like the the title of a Reddit
2124s post or something and and maybe you're
2126s not invested in the game to go and do
2128s like full research on it and we don't
2130s expect people to do it either
2131s um
2132s and because that's kind of that's on us
2134s to uh to use our marketing to to like
2138s convey all the relevant information
2139s right
2141s um and sometimes all that relevant
2142s information doesn't get out properly and
2144s conclusions get drawn based on
2146s incomplete information or possibly
2148s incorrect information
2151s um and
2153s I I think that's what that's what
2155s happened here so there's there's a lot
2156s of knee-jerk reactions of
2158s um
2159s uh a plus b equals bad no matter what
2163s and uh it's not always the case you know
2166s a plus b most of the time equals bad but
2168s given c d e f g h i it's not bad you
2172s know
2173s um
2174s and
2178s I I think the same thing can happen with
2180s loot boxes as well which is why I
2181s started here with the Box because it's
2182s generally so terrible but
2184s um I mean let's let's describe a
2188s hypothetical loot box system that's
2189s actually really great
2191s um you've got
2193s um you've got 50 let's see you've got 50
2196s MTX items in in a store
2199s um and they range from one to ten
2200s dollars each
2203s um and you have a a loot box that you
2207s can buy that uh that is one dollar
2211s um
2212s so no matter what as far as value of
2214s like how much the MTX you get out and
2217s all the all the loot boxes is just one
2219s random MTX
2220s um that you don't already have so it's
2222s like worst case scenario you get one
2224s that you don't want but it's still it's
2226s you paid one dollar for one dollar MDX
2228s you know it's it's worst case scenario
2230s you did not overpay for something bad
2232s you just maybe didn't get your favorite
2234s one
2237s um and that's a loot box system that I
2238s would I would argue is you know it's and
2240s and this is assuming that the items
2242s coming out of the loot box can't be sold
2244s and have no real world money value you
2246s know it's it's by a random thing
2249s um
2250s and like if that's if that's the whole
2252s system like I think that's awesome
2254s personally and I've
2256s um the closest thing I've experienced to
2258s that was the I have no idea if they do
2260s this anymore it was the uh League of
2261s Legends uh random skin gifting
2265s uh that came out I think for either
2268s Christmas or April Fool's Day or
2270s something like seven years ago or
2272s something ridiculous
2274s um and so the only times I've ever spent
2276s money on an MCX in a game was was that
2279s and it was it was great like you
2282s you ended up with I think I think that
2284s one it was slightly more expensive than
2286s the cheaper skins you could get
2288s um and my experience of it may have been
2289s skew because I did get really really
2290s lucky but I mean it was it was cool you
2293s were generally spending cheap a cheap
2295s little thing to gift someone a random
2297s skin like that's a loot box
2300s um
2303s I know I'm kind of debating with within
2305s Eric so I'm not looking at chat right
2306s now
2307s but I yeah so I guess what I'm saying is
2309s there's there's room for
2312s um

3044s uh but at the same time it it in order
3048s to be able to put in certain things that
3050s are awesome you kind of have to have
3052s these negative things
3054s um and I know it's not an item but a
3055s really quintessential example of a thing
3057s we did as a negative in order to make it
3061s possible to do the positive is Tempest
3063s strike
3064s um it's sort of our poster child of
3065s failed skills and in order to do the the
3069s ability triggering system that we have
3071s for it originally
3072s um with with all the other factors in
3074s the game the only way to do that was to
3076s not have your abilities scale with
3078s attack speed
3080s and people hate that people want their
3084s abilities to scale with attacks me that
3085s is that is a uh a very clear piece of
3088s feedback we got from that and
3091s um so we we kind of have to solve that
3093s problem first before we before we can
3095s move on
3097s and fix the rest of that
3101s um but no I don't think unique in
3103s general or anything in general like
3104s needs to like it's essential to have
3106s that downside I think
3108s um there's there's kind there is kind of
3109s a hidden downside to almost all uniques
3111s that uh
3114s um
3114s might not be always apparent but certain
3117s item slots is more apparent than others
3119s is that it's the opportunity cost of
3120s using that item in that slot you lose
3122s the ability to put on
3124s um certain affixes so like uh for
3126s example
3127s um boots have movement speed on them a
3129s lot of moon speed
3130s um and if you make a unique boots and a
3133s unique pair of boots it better have
3135s almost every single unique pair of boots
3137s has has the has the actual like explicit
3140s and implicit affixes of increased move
3143s speed almost every single one of them
3144s I'm pretty sure has that or some
3145s variation on that
3147s um yeah like there it is both of these
3148s have it
3149s um
3151s you know I don't have but like that's
3152s what I mean it's like if you make a pair
3154s of boots that doesn't have move speed on
3155s it that's not an explicit downside but
3158s that's a huge downside that's like kind
3160s of hidden in there and
3162s um it's it's important to to get I
3165s that's the whole Weaver as well I didn't
3167s get I only got two after those Rumble

3767s uh like our game compared other games
3769s things like that is that I bet number
3771s one feels way worse than number two even
3773s though they are functionally identical

3779s brain goes oh there's no path there and
3782s in Number One your brain goes
3784s oh the path got blocked
3790s nothing to back this up academically
3792s whatsoever
3794s um so if anyone has any information on
3796s this that they think is relevant I'm

3954s thing let's say that one of the unique
3956s Echoes was based around the secondary
3957s characters of the boss of that Echo
3959s would be a reflection of one of those
3960s characters if you have any uh and for
3963s the drops as well as the arena in the
3965s counter is held in would reflect the
3967s arena that was most uh farmed by that
3970s character
3972s um yeah so this is actually something I
3973s know I know this keeps going more posts
3975s but also note this is something we've
3976s considered doing um and I think we I'm
3979s more likely so there's kind of a hint of
3981s this already in the game funny enough
3983s um the and and and this is something
3987s that we haven't really settled on if
3988s we're gonna do or not or if we do how
3990s much it'll be but it's an idea that a
3992s lot of us have like we've we've
3993s mentioned we're like could we do this
3994s yeah probably actually and and like we
3996s love this type thing so it's sort of as
3998s far as we've gotten to this and not
3999s actually implementing it but having so
4001s the arena bosses the arena the arena um
4004s limited Arena bosses there's three of
4006s them
4007s and they're cut they're they're a player
4009s character essentially with specific
4010s player character abilities in a suspect
4012s in a specific way
4014s um
4015s and we like I think we try to do some
4017s pretty cool and creative stuff there and
4020s um especially with side note the Rogue
4022s one
4023s um if you kill it uses decoy but doesn't
4026s force you to attack it because that
4027s would be weird but if you do kill the
4029s Rogues decoy in The Limited Arena boss
4031s fight before the decoy blows up it drops
4034s a whole bunch of crafting materials so
4036s it does incentivize you to attack it so
4038s it kind of is like a deep one you know
4039s that's the effect anyways
4041s um
4042s is we we've considered being like okay
4044s end of uh there's there's
4047s um ladder finishes uh maybe the top
4050s three people from that ladder get we we
4052s take their builds or we take their we
4054s take their characters that they got
4055s those top three spots and then we design
4058s boss fights for the next limited Arena
4060s season around those characters
4063s um and so it wouldn't be just like a
4065s one-to-one straight like hey take those
4067s characters just use them because there'd
4068s be all sorts of weird stuff it won't
4069s make good boss fights but it's like okay
4071s well here's like we'll take as much of
4073s them as possible and make it into a fun
4074s boss fight
4076s uh maybe they're using a specific unique
4078s and we'll like work that in so you're
4080s like it's like you're playing against
4081s the person who won the arena last season
4083s type thing
4085s um so we we've toyed with ideas like
4088s this before
4089s um
4090s uh and I like I said I don't know if we
4092s can or we'll ever do something like this
4094s but I do love this type of idea
4097s uh it's almost finished reading the rest
4099s of them then let's say in other parts
4100s that drop pool would be some actual
4102s equipment that that character uh last
4105s had equipped and depending on how long
4107s that character has been assigned to your
4108s account so I'm sort of uh tiering system
4110s would be uh how the possible legendary
4113s potential tier might assigned uh
4116s basically over tying the equipment in a
4118s lower time sense would continue to get
4120s stronger the irritable equipment would
4122s be locked in or not maybe would be
4124s dynamic but uh because based on the time
4127s of the first encounter with that
4129s particular secondary character but you
4131s could go back to that character and
4133s after some sort of condition is met like
4135s additional game time where you could
4137s reset the locked burnable equipment that
4140s could drop on other characters this
4142s could play into continuously improving
4144s secondary equipment our characters
4145s indirectly when playing other builds

4151s um yeah so there's a lot of stuff there
4152s and I kind of got lost in it um I I
4155s would uh yeah like we've we've we've
4158s toyed around with ideas around this
4164s it's not something we're ready to do
4166s but um it is really interesting I do

4178s your own characters

4185s um the main problem with using your own

4196s um opportunities to cheese the system

4202s terrible character but with like one
4204s really awesome piece of gear on it that
4206s you then uh like bring your friend
4208s within multiplayer to kill specifically
4210s to have like your drop and duplicate
4212s over to them so it's like this like
4213s weird convoluted trade system that you
4215s can set up then and it's like it's they
4218s they used to having like Forum posts
4219s that are like
4221s um come kill this boss with me it can
4223s drop this item uh and it's like you know
4226s you know there's there's
4228s I think there's opportunities for abuse
4231s in there be making it your own character
4232s but having it be
4235s um
4238s having it be like the the characters
4240s that were that like won the season last
4243s last cycle uh I think it's a really
4247s fun way to get that Community
4248s interaction involvement
4250s um and like semi immortalization of this
4252s character you know it's a reward to work
4254s towards things like that and and just
4256s because it's not something that we have
4257s specifically planned for the game but
4259s more of a a pitch I heard years ago
4262s and people were positive towards and
4265s just talking about the style of things
4266s that I think we'd like to work

4301s uh or a big opportunity cost like that
4303s would be though like belts uh boots that
4305s don't have movement speed on them you
4306s know that sort of thing

4345s also has this like okay well you know it
4347s doesn't need creating work since hit
4349s they do way more damage and yeah I know

4453s this one's really sweet

4465s we we don't specifically go and look at
4468s builds that are like abilities that are
4470s uh maybe less popular or are underused
4474s and say like okay we need to buff this
4476s specifically
4477s um it's it's more of hey let's look at
4480s what sort of gameplay patterns and
4482s styles and Fantasies we can enable
4484s um and bring forward as a possibility as
4486s an option something that that is fun and
4488s viable and will work well
4491s so yeah we do want as many options as
4493s possible
4494s um but we we also look at it
4496s realistically in the sense that there's
4499s um it's there's no point in attempting
4501s to make all of the things possible

4511s uh opposed to barriers to block the path
4514s you could block them with portals that
4516s teleport you around to spots on the map
4518s uh lets it be more puzzle labyrinthy

4937s of an mmoe type uh type game so like
4940s you're the the the game that comes to
4942s mind for myself in my past with with a
4944s system like that is wow

4959s not really anyways uh and you you spend
4963s a lot more time managing your cooldowns

4984s uh to make it so you are
4988s um you're managing like one or two

4995s large offensive skill that's sort of
4996s like your your your sum total of

5500s that's kind of what you're what you're
5501s looking at is like a classless character

5506s we we tie class identity into so many
5509s things like we tie class identity into
5511s relics chest helmets into
5514s um into into Idols once you get past the
5516s one and two slot Idols they're all class

5519s um like there's there's specific thing
5521s like weapons that can be held in offhand
5523s for each class there's like all the
5525s passives and and how they interact with
5526s specific skills like there's specific
5529s skills referenced in passives like lots
5531s of volcanic or up here

5534s having this like Rogue classless class
5537s in this this is this blank slate

5544s I think it's really cool

5548s I I can see there being

5552s like an attempt to do something like

5601s boots and you get this new movement
5603s skill that anyone anyone can get as much
5605s skill and specializable as long as you
5607s have these boots equipped
5610s something like that I think would be
5611s more likely to be seen just
5613s in order to fit in with everything else
5615s in the game better and not cause

5703s the first time you've ever seen it and
5706s it's really hard it takes a long time

5711s um the reward ends up not being worth it
5714s because it took so long to do
5717s um and and possibly it's it's something
5719s that's mandatory for your character to
5721s go through uh and you end up struggling
5723s with it and it ends up being

5727s one of these things where you're like I
5729s have to do this and you end up bashing
5731s your head against the wall and sometimes
5732s it can be a wall that you bounce off of
5737s and then once you know how to do the
5739s puzzles and and that sort of stuff
5740s because
5743s um there's got to be some sort of
5744s pattern to them probably
5746s once once you get the point where you're
5748s like good enough at it or you've done it
5749s a few times you know the answer and that
5751s sort of stuff I think you can really
5752s easily get into a situation where it's
5754s no longer engaging no longer interesting
5756s because it is just uh oh this is uh left
5759s left right left left right right done or
5764s and and then you also get people who end
5766s up in the I'm going to go look up the
5769s answer online
5771s and you don't get a you don't get that
5774s you don't get an interesting experience

6152s would draw a new spell off top my deck
6153s and put it where meteor is instead so as
6155s you're using and drawing abilities they
6157s get cycled into new slots on your bar
6159s and so you have like 30 abilities
6161s instead of six or or five or four or
6164s whatever and
6165s um they're always in different spots in
6167s your bar and you never know which which
6170s is there so you're constantly having to
6172s like manage your your bar your spellbar
6175s at the same time and it was like it's a
6177s really cool idea on paper and it like it
6179s really draws home it brings that card
6181s drawing mechanic and like that that like
6183s that because it's a card game and it's
6184s got its roots in that card game it
6186s really brings it brings it home it's
6187s it's like it's thematic and it it's it's
6190s really interesting and cool and it's
6192s just not fun

6378s like tabletop pen and paper RPGs classic
6381s ones or or whatever the setting is
6384s um you can you can adjust the theming
6385s based on what are the setting but yeah I
6387s think I think pen and paper RPGs is a
6389s great place to look for
6391s um class inspiration I think bards is a
6394s very underrepresented
6397s um
6398s uh uh class archetype in air produce in
6401s general
6402s I'm like you get little touches of them
6404s and you see you see things in um boba's
6408s you see Barnes and mobas all the time
6411s um
6414s but yeah not only in RPGs and uh
6418s I I think part of that is

6426s it's it's hard to incentivize a a barred
6430s play style in a classless arpg because
6433s it's so specific
6436s um and and so different than
6439s um then pretty well every other class
6441s like like a fighter and a barbarian have
6443s a lot of overlap
6445s um
6446s and like a sorcerer and a mage or a
6448s sorcerer wizard I don't use Pathfinder
6450s uh examples here Sorcerer And wizard
6452s have uh have really a lot of overlap in
6455s in their themings
6457s and there's a lot of mechanical
6459s differences there but there's a lot of
6460s overlap there and um so you can have for
6463s example if you're if you're if you're
6464s looking at RPG themes or classes you
6466s could have
6468s um if your classless even you could have
6470s themes though that
6472s um you could have skills and items and
6475s things like that that overlap with
6476s multiple themes
6479s um and archetypes and
6483s because you could put a fireball in the
6485s game and you could you could have that
6486s theme work for a wizard or a sorcerer
6489s um uh archetype in a classical system
6491s and
6493s um

6564s to be a full separate class
