I'd like to hear others opinions on the negatives of the game thusfar they've encountered, what they think could be done or changed about it, and what they feel is missing or just horribly busted. I currently have about 20 hours into this game, a level 57 Primalist and started a Sentinel sitting at 30something. So I at least play the game and this isn't some old dude yelling at the clouds.

I've grown tired of the echo chamber posts only praising the good and not many talking about the actually bad parts. If you care at all for the development and long term potential success of this game, or any, you can't just hang your hat on the good, the bad must be addressed.

It's VERY early "but it's BETAAAA" I understand, that's why this is the perfect time to get it all out there because there's a damn full year left till launch.

My current gripes are:

  1. Chat box interfering with NPC dialogue. Needing to be "in the middle" of the options to proceed. "Just turn chat off" isn't a fix.
  2. Cosmetic pets bugged. New Supporter packs being pushed when part of them don't even work. Emailed support, no update on this.
  3. Optimization. This is likely the biggest issue I have right now. I'm on a high end PC with everything low and the engine just can't handle things. Watching Nugi do some Black Hole combo damn near break the game was funny though. Are there plans to change engines? I know this would mean a progress wipe during beta, but if it means the game plays better I'm 100% ok with this.
  4. Content/update speed. Probably the #1 thing that kills games off is lack of update or just not enough in time. Alpha was when? August? It's now 8 months later and we have ~2 "acts" and admittedly imo a cool "endless" arena system, the RNG to get into it isn't great but it's an ARPG there has to be RNG in loot. An entire class is missing in the Rogue and not all current classes have access to all their subclasses.
Also are we going to get patches to add skill trees to skills overtime in beta? Or are more than half going to be useless until launch?
  5. Passives The game being praised for ability skill trees can't have more unique passives or character trees than "You do x more damage" or "+x stat"? Feels underwhelming. Leveling to just get 1 vitality or damage feels worse than seeing your SKILL level up. Is that a good thing? Or just trying too hard to be different? Who knows. Difference in opinion I'd presume.
  6. Names Can our character names be shown in chat and not account names? This shouldn't even be a thing tbh. And seems like something they could literally change overnight.

Chat box interfering with NPC dialogue.

This is a known issue, but not currently considered a priority.

Priorities include - but are not limited to - fixing crashing issues & radically improving loading times.

New Supporter packs being pushed when part of them don't even work.

We're very sorry about this. The initial beta build & beta supporter packs became available at the same time, so we didn't learn of the bug until the packs were available for purchase. Resolving this is one of the team's current priorities.

(There's little to no overlap between the people working on this and those working on crash fixes).

Optimization. This is likely the biggest issue I have right now.

This is the biggest issue that many people have currently.

Not much I can say other than it isn't good enough and we'll continue to work on improving it.

Content/update speed.

Anyone interested in how regularly the game is updated can check the Patch Notes section of our forum.

Do you mind if I ask where the number 2 comes from? The initial alpha release in August had Chapter 1, which replaced the previous zones available in our free pre-alpha demos. Currently the game has five Chapters, including a new prologue Chapter.

Can our character names be shown in chat and not account names?

I'll discuss this with the team.

Maybe I misspoke or just missed something regarding the chapters/acts. Do you know a ballpark hour mark in which the content runs out during current playthrough? Excluding Arena/MoF. Just the story stuff so I know. I did the story quests up to where it said "END OF BETA" which I believe was the quest to do MoF and enter Arena?

I know there are minor updates/fixes regularly but I more so meant major features. i.e. Rogue, more skill trees etc. Not just the maintenance bug fixes, sorry.

Thanks for the reply and info though :)

Most of these complaints aren't bothering me, but I would LOVE to have the option of either character names OR account name in chat, like a toggle in options FWIW.

I'm sure it'll be 1 or the other, but just thought I'd throw out my 2 cents since (haha cents since) you are obviously here and paying attention to the feedback in this thread.

Also, I just have to say I love how open you guys are to feedback, very refreshing, thank you for listening!

Thanks. :)

A concern with that idea is the possibility of impersonating someone - one person naming a character after another's account.
