I just can't get used to have to move first then attack. Multiple times after I have slayed my enemies I just stand there attacking, not multiple attacks but only one whiff is enough to get me triggered. Is there a reason for this that I haven't thought of?

I guess you could just hold down move at all time and press buttons while still holding down move. But same could be done with move/attack and this would also free up a skill slot.

Correct me if there is something I've missed.

There's normally an option to switch your movement key to move or attack, but right now it's disabled.

There was a bug found with it very shortly before release, and disabling it was the only fix guaranteed not to cause additional issues. We'll re-enable the option with the bug fixed in a hotfix.

We have a fix that's been reviewed and is with QA. However, QA are currently very busy helping test potential improvements to server issues, so I can't give an exact ETA on when the fix is going to end up in a patch.

It'll definitely be much less than the 2 months it remained unavailable after 0.9 though. The issue then was that the whole system needed to be overhauled to work correctly with multiplayer. The current issue is just that a bug that was introduced and discovered so late that properly fixing it for 1.0 was deemed too much of a risk to stability, because changing player input code at that point had the potential to inadvertently create a more critical bug.
