Like small temporary events that maybe last a few days or a week or 2 to bridge the downtime between cycles a little, especially as the first cycle's gonna take ~4.5 months?

I'm sure there are lots of ways you could add a new spin on something for a short period of time by only tweaking some numbers right?

Or are they inherently against such events, has anyone heard something from them regarding this topic?

I don't play all the events in PoE, but I do enjoy jumping into one occasionally when I feel the itch to play outside of the season starts and I found some of them quite entertaining with silly extra modifiers that would be completely broken in the regular game.

Some ideas I could think of that I think would likely not require much extra work:

  • All monsters have 2 random extra modifiers

  • Passive tree and/or skill tree thresholds are removed or randomized

  • Values of gear affixes are halved, but values of idol affixes are tripled

  • All uniques drop with Weaver's Will instead of LP

  • All non-unique items drop white and with Weaver's Will applied to them

  • Set bonus thresholds are reduced by 1

  • You can only wear 1 unique and 1 exalted item, but their values are boosted significantly

I think such events could also serve as a playground for devs to try out ideas and see if they could work in the regular game or not.

What's your opinion on this? I know in PoE some events can be polarizing and the devs there aren't much of a fan of events that make the game "easier" or more crazy and not just harder.

Yup, iirc at their largest they only had about 30-35 people in the company. They're also fully remote, there is no central office or anything as far as I know.

We are about 3x that and growing right now. So we are getting close to being able to do things like that I hope.
