614s you get a little lore bite um
617s as a as a sort of little reward for
620s exploring around the world maybe
623s um so like things like that just trying
625s to bring more that storytelling elements
627s together and part of that is extra
629s cutscenes um

634s and we've also been improving our tools
635s for making cutscenes the ones we've had
637s so far are

639s like the in-engine ones at least have
641s been pretty bare bones with the tools
648s so yeah

652s i really like the intro cutscene style

656s voice over on the the movie images and
658s things like that they're they're real
659s like compared to a full like cgi
661s cutscene they're super cheap to make
664s um which is great it means you can make
666s more of them but i think i also really
668s like the style i'd have to drop

773s mastery in um i'd really like to see a
778s uh like a a straight barbarian mastery

871s chapters are getting a few changes too i

932s that you can specialize on it so this is
934s this is sort of a thing an idea we've

951s um but not impossible so
954s maybe is kind of the general answer i

957s the big problem with it is that as soon
959s as you remove the skill
963s so as soon as you take the the item off
965s as soon as you go

969s like this the skill would disappear and
972s it you wouldn't have the skill to
973s specialize anymore right
975s like suddenly you're just like without
976s the skill what do you what do you do do

981s would suddenly re removing a skill an
984s item from your bar completely de-spec a

987s like that happening is just
990s kind of terrifying

995s so the getting around that issue having
998s some sort of there'd be there needs to
999s be some sort of restrictions with it or
1001s uh i guess a way to double check

1122s interesting you know

1127s so i mentioned earlier i might make a
1129s bow focused prime list right but i mean
1131s if we did like

1134s i don't know a a pair of boots or a pair
1138s of gloves or something that maybe had
1142s uh

1148s sorry a pair of gloves that had
1150s um
1154s just know something a pair of gloves
1155s that had
1157s like
1158s gain a
1160s uh a bear pet or something like that and
1162s then you could have that sort of ranger
1164s on the rogue instead of on the
1166s um prime list as a subclass
1169s so so that sort of thing would be
1170s interesting um who knows if it's
1172s possible yet who knows if we want to do
1174s it yet um
1176s but i do i do we do get that from time
1178s to time as a request and it would also
1180s be interesting you could you could make
1182s sort of skills that are specializable on
1183s multiple classes with just an item that
1185s adds an uh a non-class specific item
1188s that adds a new
1189s skill to the mix that could be fun too
1192s um
1193s probably a lot of fun
1198s we don't really have any concrete plans
1200s for that yet
1208s that's that's the sort of thing that i'd
1209s expect to show up in like a cycle after
1212s after launch be like
1213s um
1215s like a new a new thing that we add as a
1217s new mechanic in a new cycle or something
1218s like that like here's here's a set of
1219s like four uniques that'll add
1220s specializable skills or something like
1222s that that would be the sort of place i
1224s would expect to see something like that
1225s show up
1227s if if we can ever make it work
1230s big big caveat there
1236s oh a couple idols might be good there
1238s yeah hello buddy void resistance
1241s oh yeah
1247s all right with bastion of honor still
1248s being the shield the shield uh would you
1252s consider bringing it more in line with
1253s the rest for example by example giving
1255s it less block effectiveness mod uh it
1258s would be more interesting if it's sort
1260s of reverse slab especially for block
1262s themes

1266s it's it's you're right it's still quite
1268s powerful
1269s um
1273s would we consider that yeah we'll
1274s consider anything you want um
1277s i don't think that's likely to happen
1281s that specific option
1297s like there's always gonna be
1299s one shield that is the best for pure
1301s block strategies
1303s in the game like that like there is
1305s going to be
1307s like like for for very specific blocks
1309s like i a hard sentinel i'm got this
1312s shield i'm going to block everything
1315s um
1317s blocks energies and everything like that
1319s there's there's kind of gotta be
1321s something that sits on top of that
1322s throne
1328s um and it might be more about making
1331s some additional niche
1334s shields that are
1336s good in select situations so that it's
1339s less ubiquitous um
1342s where it's like okay like yes it's
1344s really good for straight block
1345s strategies but if you're a straight
1346s block strategy that also does this other
1348s thing maybe this other shield's a little
1349s bit better i think adding more shields
1351s like that might be the better way to
1352s approach it to make it less ubiquitous
1358s is this more like diablo or poe i i mean
1361s it's got similarities from both we put
1363s our own spin on things we we add
1365s fresh stuff too um
1370s oh two lp gloves there yeah
1375s not bad
1378s pick up so many extra things that i
1379s really look back on and go do i really
1381s even need that

1438s and like i'm assuming you mean diablo 2

1446s it's closer to poe than diablo 3.

1456s but there's there's definitely
1457s similarities
1460s i'm sure you can you can pull up
1461s similarities with basically any game in
1463s the genre
1464s different systems i think we're our own

1493s will the game have a special npc like
1495s deckard kane in diablo uh we do we've
1497s got a couple i think the closest

1533s it's a big thing it's a low level isn't

1570s be done with them in the long term but

1612s uh will the release schedule for diablo
1613s 4 impact your release schedule are you
1615s trying to get 1.0 before d4 launches uh

1623s like it's gonna be next year sometime um
1628s and those kind of vague implications
1630s that it might be
1631s in the summer
1632s but the way it was worded it could be
1634s any time next year really
1640s so it's it's it's hard to plan around
1641s that really what we're just doing is

1892s it's on the radar we don't have any
1896s uh progress on implementing that yet
1899s um so we're not we're not gonna have it
1901s for 1.0
1904s um but one of the major things about
1906s getting a console release is full
1908s controller support which is something we
1910s are planning to have finished for 1.0

1914s so porting it over to console
1916s hopefully won't require

1920s that much extra work in that category at
1922s least like i'm showing you extra stuff

1925s it's a sound degree there but
1928s uh the like the primary hard part
1930s getting the full controller support in
1932s game functionality hopefully that's all
1934s buttoned up and tidy before 1.0 launches

1940s so yeah it'll be it'll be a post 1.0
1942s discussion that we'll have to decide
1944s yeah if we want to do it when we want to
1945s do it how we want to do it all sort of
1947s stuff it's on the radar but we we're not
1950s uh we're not looking at it yet because

2023s story as well i assume the addition
2025s additional story content will bring new
2027s zones and enemies afraid to assume that
2029s they will all be added straight into
2031s model and arena to
2033s bring even more variety to those systems
2035s yeah there's there's certain
2037s um
2039s there are certain rare instances where
2041s some enemies
2043s uh
2044s don't make sense to actually have in the
2046s monolith
2047s um
2051s it's sort of like a we in a weird way
2053s but uh
2054s as long as they do whatever it is
2056s doesn't fall into that category
2058s there's a good chance that it will slide
2060s into a monolith um pretty quickly if
2063s there's not
2064s if there's if if the enemy specifically
2067s is belongs to like a
2070s biome that is not represented in one of
2072s the
2074s um
2076s one of the model timelines it's possible
2077s that it could also be delayed for that
2079s as well until like a new timeline gets
2080s created
2081s um
2084s but yeah it's
2086s that's cool i might have to drop
2089s something

2093s can't use it because this bow is the
2094s linchpin to this build so we're not
2096s going to bother
2100s um but yeah so
2103s yes but maybe yes asterix
2112s uh first time chad here i bought your
2114s game i love the way it looks and feels
2116s uh but i feel burnt out on the genre
2119s itself a bit it's hard to put time
2120s investment into a game to find what i
2122s enjoyed to play uh is there an easy
2125s option to level a character up outside
2127s of the campaign or fast track feature
2128s characters under
2130s after campaign completion last because
2132s as they're working down priorities you
2133s know well yes i do i'm also working dead
2136s um
2137s the
2141s there's there's a couple things so the
2143s uh dungeon system
2145s which uh i don't know if you've
2147s interacted with or not yet but that does
2149s provide campaigns uh partial campaign
2151s skips
2154s um so you can jump
2156s and like skip a couple chapters
2158s uh in certain places and we are looking
2159s at adding more of those so we can get
2162s variety of those so you can
2164s if you are going to do the campaign you
2165s got keys for various dungeons you can
2167s lay out a route that is
2169s um
2171s that maybe does half the campaign
2172s instead or something i don't know um
2176s and then we also once multiplayer does
2179s launch you will be able to
2181s uh well the current plan is to be able
2183s to uh use
2186s like
2187s like russians like like get people to
2189s help you to jump through the campaign
2191s faster
2192s by uh because you can portal to people
2194s on teammates so if you're in a party
2196s with someone you can just portal to them
2201s you can get to the end of the level one
2203s if you want
2208s um there are certain um quests in the
2211s campaign that do have
2213s very valuable rewards
2215s um mostly side quests that uh give
2218s passive points and idol slots oh i
2220s missed you pass the point quest on this
2222s character apparently
2224s that's close
2226s um
2234s so yeah
2235s you'd miss those things
2238s and uh
2245s you want to go back and do them
2246s and there are more
2248s um there are more passive quests so like
2251s there's 15 passive point rewards in the
2253s in the storyline there are more than 15
2255s passive point reward quests so you don't
2257s do all 15 of them you can do 15 of 18 19
2261s whatever it is and the same with the
2262s idle slot rewards so there's eight i'll
2264s request but you can do
2266s there but there are 12 of those quests
2267s so you only have to do certain the ones
2269s you like or the ones you do less or
2271s something like that sort of makes a
2272s match
2274s so there's ways to do less of the
2276s campaign to change the order to make it
2278s less linear
2279s all that good stuff but we don't have a
2283s just like an adventure mode like the l3
2285s adventure mode where you just like just
2286s go straight into riffs or whatever or
2290s and just get everything
2301s at least not yet
2303s we don't really have plans for something
2304s like that for 1.0 anyways
2313s don't forget to drink water thank you
2314s that's why i did drink some water right
2316s there also you can place a water droplet
2318s in game to replenish our mana like beer
2320s does for health well we're not doing any
2322s sort of
2323s um
2325s mana potion system in game
2328s um
2330s it's a little little trickier to do that
2332s to add that in
2334s i can see adding water is like an extra
2336s thing instead of a potion for health
2338s but it would be for mana thank you

2385s discord or on the forums probably even
2388s better

2630s the mechanical complexity of those

2647s good example as a

2653s lots of people love it which is why it's

2657s amount of density for enemies like

2661s a lot of times you can again in that
2663s game you can curate it as well so you
2664s can take mods specifically to increase

3520s promote that was through supplementary
3521s throwing damage that showed up on on
3523s both trees and i think we'll see more of

3528s falconer as well um to to just increase
3531s that the amount that there exists in

3542s go with throwing as well

5240s situations so it's a little tricky to

5248s a lot of these
5249s you're hitting on some very fine points

5253s um i think they're going to evolve a lot
5255s in the in the next little while between
5257s now and 1.0 i think those are the types
5258s of things that are going to end up

5261s going to be based on player feedback

5363s problem in the monolith itself that

5380s something down there

5423s for the monolith before we

5426s before it really feels like a complete

5431s get this feedback a favorite where it
5432s feels like there might be something kind
5433s of missing from them this is the name i
5435s think that's mostly what it is
5437s um and we've tried to add little things
5439s that that are less intensive to add into
5442s the design to make it more interesting

5445s um than just sprinting to the finish
5447s which i know some people still do but i
5449s think it's less
5451s prominent of just sprint to the finish
5453s than it was before

5462s so i i think it's more about
5465s improving the monolith
5467s moments about the gameplay feel

5472s that than changing too much of the
5474s overall structure of the monolith

5583s being in empowered

5976s casting so if you cast fireball that
5978s adaptive spell damage does fire damage

5981s lightning blast it does lightning damage
5984s um but no matter if you cat if you're if
5986s you're using um
5989s uh like swipe or
5992s uh
5993s ford strike or physical as well isn't it
5996s uh
5998s cinder strike or forward strike or you
6000s know like doesn't matter that melee
6001s damage is always going to be physical
6003s damage um
6005s and so what we're doing is we're taking
6006s the
6007s mostly just the implicits um and
6009s changing them we're taking we're
6010s dropping that physical off of it we're
6012s also dropping the word adaptive off
6013s spell damage because it won't be
6014s necessary anymore because it'll all work
6016s that way um where it'll just be like
6018s it's just melee damage and it'll adapt
6021s to whatever
6023s um ability you're casting or ability
6024s you're attacking using
6027s um i think that's really going to help
6028s that
6029s spellbite archetype because one of the
6031s big problems was
6032s you're getting all this physical damage
6034s on your sword
6035s and you're using a fire melee ability
6038s and you're scaling fire damage but that
6040s physical damage that comes from the
6041s sword sure like it kind of scales but it
6044s doesn't quite work right it's it's
6046s clunky and everything
6048s so i i suspect the request is coming
6050s from wanting something like that to
6051s happen a little bit better um
6054s and it will
6058s that's not to say that every single item
6060s is going to change
6061s and we will still
