First off I love this game. It's one of my favorite games and favorite ARPGs. I enjoyed a lot of things, from the campaign, leveling, and especially love the class and build diversity, and how the build system was designed.
I still recommend buying it, playing it, and enjoying the hell out of it if you haven't already.
I think it's very important to understand that, one of the reasons that make ARPGs fun is their continuous progression; Simply, this makes your inner "megalomaniac" very happy.
What I don't like about the current end-game:
-
Transitioning between echoes is unnecessarily time consuming and wasteful. An echo takes 1 minute, BUT after an echo is done I need to (Repeat the below every 1 minute):
- TP
- Check the crystal loot
- Walk to the box
- Check the box loot
- Walk to the echo map
- Browse the maps
- Choose a map
- Wait for loading
-
Progression becomes very slow and boring in end-game at around the level 85 mark. There's nothing to look forward to, and the "chase" is just too random to be worth a time investment.
- Double-standard take #1: In campaign, progression is very predictable, clear and rewarding. Why isn't it like this in endgame?
- Things become easy once you reach your adequate gear targets, but I still need to grind to unlock harder content.
- Double-standard take #2: In campaign, you could skip some parts of it if you feel you are powerful enough. Why can't I skip in endgame? How many times do I need to grind to Orobyss?
Some suggestions:
- Please make mono echo transitioning smoother. How about longer echoes, with multiple bonus objectives / super rare mobs that give extra extra stability? Or end of echo immediately starts a new echo? I don't need to investigate loot every 1 minute. It just breaks the rhythm of gameplay and makes the monos feel unnecessary tedious!
- Give me some predictable rewards in end-game. How about a pity system? Or some other factor of my character or gear growth that I can progress towards? Please don't make the whole endgame about RNG, since it feels bad to play for 4-6 hours and you get nothing out of it whatsoever.
- Give me a way to reach harder content quicker. Climbing through echoes to Shade of Orobyss was only fun the first 7-8 times. Give me another way to reach harder content. How about a random event that teleports me straight to Shade? A "Black hole" random echo that skips 3-4 echos? A random vendor that sells limited quantity of needles and/or gazes?
Apologies for the long post. I just want this game to be better and I want to enjoy the end-game more, not just the campaign and leveling (which are far superior experiences than the end-game, IMO).
