This game is looking to fulfill almost all my ARPG wishes. The passives, the skill trees, the end-game system plans. If it all falls into place it will be extremely hard for any other game to outdo it. I think Grim Dawn has been the only one to properly scratch that itch since Diablo 2. Glad to see Last Epoch closing the distance :)

Thanks! And happy cake day. :)

It’s weird to me that the last base class is coming so much further down the line. Shouldn’t that be more of a priority?

Our scheduling of the Rogue's release is due to how much the other classes have grown over the last year. We want her to feel at parity with them when she is added, and that means a lot of content being available on day one.

If you look at our KickStarter page, you'll see that each base class was originally envisaged as having only two mastery classes, rather than the three mastery classes currently planned (and in a couple of cases, already available). The previous Passive Grid system had passives primarily focus on the base class, with your chosen mastery class adding a few additional nodes. Now, each base class and mastery class has its own window filled with exclusive passives. The proportion of each classes' skills with specialization trees has grown significantly. In Patch 0.7.2, we will be implementing the first batch of voice acting to the game. We've also been continuously iterating on the animations for each class, and replacing their models with higher quality ones.

The Rogue class is far enough internally that, if we wanted, we could release her in a patch tomorrow. However, none of her mastery classes would be sufficiently far in development to be included in that patch. Some of her passives would not yet be functional. The vast majority of her skills would lack specialization trees - and she'd also have fewer skills compared to other classes. Some of her animations would be placeholders. While VA has been recorded for her, it hasn't been sorted through and implemented.

If you look at the video linked to above, you'll see her character model, some of her visual effects, and some skill art created for her. The Rogue class being slotted into Phase 3 doesn't represent work beginning then, but rather us being ready to release the Rogue at that time. Anything short of her having a power level and build variety rivalling that of the other classes would result in her release being a disappointment. We think it's worth holding her back for longer to avoid that.

I'm going to sticky a link to the FAQ post in the forum thread about this.

We've already added some additional questions to it, and we'll likely continue to do so.
