Like many, I'm a PoE player hoping to have LE as my second main game; what LE promises to be is just that good for me already. There's the whole exilecon going on right now, where in the art interview, Erik Olofsson is happy that PoE 2 is going back more to the dark and gritty that they hoped for at the start.

I know PoE is a more gritty/dark/gory/etc game, but when I want to relax and unwind, I sometimes just want to play an hour in biomes mostly consisting of beaches, grasslands, colorful forests, etc. Maps offered that, but the darker the gameplay becomes, the less I usually enjoy to play the game for long periods of time. It's why I played Torchlight for far more than any Diablo or Grim Dawn and why I'm afraid for the art direction of PoE.

Last Epoch, aside from everything else it promises, also attracted me in with what it promises with the divine, and perhaps even more, the ancient era. I'm looking greatly forward for the 0.7.4 for the ancient era chapter.

What I'm wondering is how LE will evolve in keeping the biomes diversified and relevant. Like, if the ancient era zones are only relevant during story and no longer during endgame, that would be disappointing to me. I know monolith will probably get access to ancient era zones in the pool as soon as those zones release, but you have less agency over what to play and when in the monolith.

I just really hope EHG, as it goes forward, keeps a nice and relevant offering of dark and nitty gritty zones and bright colorful zones for people like me, in all aspects and stages of the game.

It's a major design goal of ours to keep the different Eras feeling distinct from one another so you will continue to see a lot of diversity in the zones you experience in Last Epoch. Even moreso going forward as we are still gaining speed on developing environmental assets, mastering our post processing stack, upgrading the quality of graphics and VFX, etc. If you like diversity and pretty scenery 0.7.4 will not disappoint!

Very happy to hear that you're enjoying the game, Maadao :)
