With the influx of so many new players it is entirely possible, that the survers will crumble tomorrow (and maybe even further into the weekend). Even if EHG sounds very confident in their preperation, we should prepare ourselfs for "the worst".

Luckily Last Epoch has a feature, other games in the genre dont support. Offline mode.
Yes, you cannot use your cool MTX and yes, you cannot go to partyplay, BUT you will 100% be able to experience the game. And in my opinion its more worth it to get a cool SSF experience (which LE luckily also provides) to learn the game, than to get angry about server issues. Disappointment is okay, and needs to be communicated, but dont let it take overhand, and dont let it interfere (too much) witch your ability to enjoy an awesome game!

Best case scenario: This post was unneccessary and the servers will hold.

Worst case scenario: We play a few days offline, until the servers catch up.

Enjoy the seasonstart fellow travelers!

Much appreciate the PSA, u/guddefulgaming ! We’ll have everyone at the battle stations ready to pull levers if anything does go down due to load.

To answer “can offline characters be swapped to online” the answer is no. This is because with any data that lives on client side solely (your PC) and not our servers it is possible to hack and we dont want any hacked items or characters joining the online realm where people compete on the leaderboards, trade items, etc.

Appreciate all the support, everyone! Look forward to seeing you all in-game tomorrow.
