Can you post a screenshot of your quest tracker so I can see what part of the quest you are stuck on?
Ah, I understand now. I was able to reproduce the quest state not triggering correctly to show you the next step of the quest. I made a note of it, thank you for bringing this to my attention, it is confusing, definitely a bug.
If you explore the zone you should be able to still continue the quest (it will skip over one of the steps once you advance forward).
