I suffer of a very mild form of epilepsy. In the worst cases my hands twitch and I feel lightheaded, I can't focus and my muscles on the neck contract to the point of hurting. That's what happens when I meet a few adversaries that use that board. It doesn't affect me immediately, but after a couple of games like that I start feeling the symptoms.

I already wrote a ticket to support, but I was wondering if I'm the only one having this problem.

Thanks. I'm pretty optimistic as well. As one of the other redditors suggested, they could introduce an option to disable animations: this would be great for people with my same issue but it would also serve those playing on mobile to save battery. They would get two birds with one stone.

Hi u/Ghaladh, needless to say I'm terribly sorry this is happening for you and others. Something in the game negatively impacting a player's health is a nightmare scenario.

I have a couple questions for you (or anyone else experiencing similar): - Is it the Lab board that's troublesome, or the one in the store? Or both, which seems likely? - If you had to guess, which elements on the board are most problematic? If it's tough or impossible to tell that's fine! - Are there any other animations or elements in the game that cause issues?

To echo some of what u/CaptSarah said... I don't know what the right solve is yet, but we care a lot about this stuff and will try to improve it. No question.

Thanks a lot. Let's get to your questions.

1) The Lab board colors and animations don't cause any discomfort to me. I'm referring solely to the one from the store.

2) The problematic elements are, on the right side, the acoustic devices (the bumping stereo speakers and that other box) and the crystal animations. On the left side there is that mildly shimmering and animated light reflection that reflects on the wall.

3) The level up animation of Lux and Leona are the ones that shows the brightest flashes of light (I'm mostly disturbed by those), but they are too brief to really give me any issue, so that wouldn't truly require any modification concerning my problem, yet I suppose they might trigger those with worst cases of epilepsy. It's a barely noticeable and inconsequential stimulation to me.

Someone suggested to introduce an option to block board animations. I don't know if that's feasible to you, guys, but beside those who share similar issues with me, people that want to save power on their mobile devices would enjoy such an option as well.

I apologize if my descriptions might not be very clear, but English is my second language. I'm at your disposal for any clarification.

I'm very grateful for your intervention and interest on this topic.

Thanks for the quick response. I'll talk to the team a bit and see what we think might help most.

And for the record I'm pretty sure your English is better than mine! :P

Thanks a lot. I'm aware that finding, applying and testing a solution requires time, so I'll patiently wait, certain that you'll take care of it in some ways.

In the meanwhile I have workarounds to reduce the impact of those animations on me.

Tried a few changes to make Disable Motion also disable the EQ bars and speaker animations on the K/DA boards. Those seem to work well, so I'll make sure we ship them with v1.15. That'll come out for folks in a couple weeks!
