[2020] What Happens to XP Once You've Completed a Region?

So I've gotten almost all the champions (with the exception of one Quinn which I'm currently working towards). I still have a few regions I haven't completed which I'm going to save for completion until the next region release in August.

My question is what happens to XP once you completed all the regions? Does it just dissappear? Does it roll over and is stores internally until the next expansion? Thanks for the help.

It was a bug. When new content comes out, we want players to have new goals to pursue as well and not have everything instantly completed.
