I got into LoR because my friend has been enjoying it and i've played LoL for years aswell as other TCGs. I love how the game plays, the visual design, and the tutorials/economy seem very good

What's absolutely blown though is that the game has handed me 6 decks that i can't play with my friend, tells me to play PvP for daily rewards - which i can only play in the eternal format, where i'm facing monstrous decks that are dropping crazy champion effects, expensive cards, removal forever etc and completely sh*tstomping me

My friend suggested i do Path of Champions for a bit, which i was enjoying - then i get to the 1.5 star path with Karma, who just vomits out a board of 6/6s on turn two and never runs out of cards ever, and every time i want to try again i have to sit through the entire path again.

Why on earth do they not give you a standard legal deck from the start?

EDIT : Ty for the responses everyone. Surprised they rotated without having a plan in place, but good to know its not just me being dumb. For the record I am enjoying the game itself

Ah ok. To be honest that's kind of heartening in a way. I'd rather that i just was unlucky with the timing than me completely missing something.

Yeah, we planned for new players to get standard-legal decks when rotation came in but hit some big surprises and blockers in the process. Building new decks for store bundles is something we do all the time and are familiar with, and we build new event passes all the time which work similarly to the road of prologue unlocks - so we assumed things would go smoothly: just make the decks like normal and swap out the decks the prologue road gives players.

However, after we were in the middle of the work we discovered there were a lot of extra snags that crossed disciplines due to the unique aspects of how the prologue road was built. It was built as a one-and-done, not a flexible system we regularly update, and this made it take a LOT more time to update. We're going to get them, updated as soon as possible - But still, I wish we'd caught it sooner.

Thanks for bearing with us, and if you aren't already - make sure you're claiming the free rewards on the event pass and region roads. It's easy to forget about them and it's a huge source of new player cards. You can also play Path in the meanwhile if PvE is your thing, you can earn a lot of cards that way for PvP too.
