I just got a Bilgewater nova crystal and I am thinking of getting one of the mf's bundle to unlock, will I need in this conestellation to also unlock the gemstones path (blue in the picture) or will I just be able to unlock it through the red path?

The red path is all you need. You only have to have one connected star to unlock a new one
