The RMT “policy” floating around isn’t accurate to all situations. there are a number of factors that go into the severity of bans that we track, however unfortunately I cannot post outright what the parameters are as I don’t want to invite circumvention.

Regardless, these policies adjust and change depending on circumstance as well, so it’s not really ideal for these things to be shared outright as fact – I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

As stated in the previous megathread on this topic, a wide swath of folks having the “commerce lock” issues were found to be purchasing gold from fraudulent/third party sellers. This was a situation that we escalated for investigation because we felt it was important, but moving ahead, it isn’t feasible to have ban appeals happen through the forums (especially considering the sensitivity of player information that is often shared in these situations). We are working to ensure that the appeals process through CS his something that is done with care and vigilance.

This is something we hope to get better/clearer messaging on for folks going through support on in the future – I definitely understand the frustration and confusion that folks encounter and we are pushing to help improve things wherever possible. I know a lot of players have been frustrated by the appeals process in general, and I know it is not ideal; we don’t want this to be the default experience for anyone either.

Yup, and I understand. We are pushing for improvements where we can (and I’m happy to cross-post this in the other thread as well). The frustration and confusion is warranted, and we also want to eliminate the issues players are experiencing with support.
