I am not on the support team and I do not work on New World, so I don’t have much insight as to how the other game’s system works, but what I do know is that all reports against players are reviewed by human CS agents before being actioned on.

If your friend is openly trash talking other players in the game and caught a ban, he probably wasn’t banned for cheating or due to mass reporting, but for what it was that he said to those other players.
