- Download the .air file from here: https://idlemaster.djartsgames.ca/~idle/?page=download&network=cne
- You'll need to install wine and winetricks(this might not be needed)
- For fedora users you'll run: sudo dnf install wine winetricks
- Then you'll need to download the adobe air installer for windows which you can find here: https://get2.adobe.com/air/otherversions/
- Make sure to grab the windows installer
- Then from the command line you'll want to use wine to install the installer(assuming you downloaded it to ~/Downloads you'll run the below command)
- wine ~/Downloads/AdobeAIRInstaller.exe
- Then in a command line type: wine uninstaller
- It'll pop up a window that will allow you to actually install things(go figure)
- Click the instill button, find the downloaded CrusadersDesktop.air file, and you should be good to go.
- Then launch Crusaders from the wine applications menu option(You'll have to find it based on what distro you use).
A few things to keep in mind as soon as I started it up for the first time it crashed, I restarted it and it worked, all the way until I was ready to go on to the 2nd area in the tutorial, then it crashed again. I loaded it back up, it crashed, so I restarted, and it worked fine. I played for a while and decided to give it a shot and link my account from steam. I had steam open and tried restarting the desktop client, it crashed. I closed steam, then restarted the desktop client, and it loaded everything up fine. I've already done a few sprints and haven't had any issues. It honestly seems to run better/smoother than running it through steam. I won't be letting it run overnight yet..... going to run my overnight in steam, then tomorrow run it all day in the new desktop client, if that goes well, I might just stick to the new standalone.
EDIT: I honestly also forgot that you could just try running the .exe in wine.... lol well, I've already got this going, so maybe someone else can try doing that.
