Hi Erika.

Any ETA on an update to the launcher? The chat conditions on there are dreadful. I'm almost tempted to stop playing, it's that bad. And I've never said that in the over 5 years that this game has been running. Hope it is high on the to do list because I don't think I can deal with this much longer.

Hi KameRose,

No ETA on a launcher update at the moment, but it's on the radar.

What chat issue are you having the most problems with?

Erica, hello!

You once said that you can expect new crusaders in the future, whose strength will grow cumulatively over the entire time in the races (like the Dentist). Are there any hints on when to expect it?

Can we expect new crusaders to be made with enhanced versions of the buffs received? Mushroom, Druid, and Conductor don't always get tagged for campaigns where this ability is almost essential.

And two questions about the features of the game mechanics. Is it a normal thing that after buying a Victor skin I don't have 5 Halloween mission closed? Do I have to wait another 9 months for the achievement to close?

Is it the norm that tags acquired by Mascot are not propagated to other crusaders through tag propagation abilities?

PS. Thanks for the chest!)

Hi dimitrius5naj,

No current Crusaders on the near radar for another growth mechanic like Dr. Almquist, but it's still a possibility.

There may be future Crusaders who also do propagation like Mycall, Langley and Tiernan.

Yes, the event objective only gets marked as completed when the event begins if you own the skin, just like the recruit Crusader achievement only gets marked as completed when the event comes around again.

Players have mentioned Pascal's tags, and we'll be looking into it after season 3 is out.

You're welcome for the chest.

does this mean by end of season 3 we will have all the 5th slots unlocked, or is this some weird CNE season where it could be the end of spring or the end of the year?

That means that by the end of season 3, all the 5th rune slots should have powers for all existing Crusaders and the Crusaders released from events during that period, and then new Crusaders after that point will come with a 5th rune slot power already chosen.

Hi, Erika. Thanks as usual for the chest.

The recent break between the seasons has highlighted once again the paucity of activities for late-game players to do. Running free plays carries vanishingly small reward, and the once-a-week challenges just aren't enough to keep people engaged. Events help, but only for a short while until the objectives are exhausted. Without dungeons available, there is little to keep attention, and that can lead to players deciding that there's no point in continuing period.

I would like to propose something that might help: Objective Challenges. The idea of these would be to allow people back into the formations and restrictions of objectives, but without a specific depth goal - instead, the objective would be to get as deep as possible, with a reward of Red Rubies and Challenge Tokens based on how much farther you get than the original requirement (e.g. 5 rubies and 1 token per 50 or 100 levels). This can be capped at whatever amount you prefer. These could be available on a rotating basis like the dungeon bonuses, or could be constantly available for select or all objectives with a per-objective cooldown (I personally like the rotation idea, but that might be harder to implement).

I think this would help draw engagement because the different restrictions would invite creative formation-building and the rewards are persistently useful, while still not being as big as dungeon rewards so that it doesn't overshadow them. It would allow for something that helps tide over the gaps between seasons, which have to this point been longer than expected and which we have no real reason to think won't continue to be a trend. It would certainly keep me more active than I've been during the break, and with more benefit as well.

Hi DoctorNovakaine,

You're welcome for the chest.

Crusaders is a surprisingly sticky game, but yes, there has been some feedback that the veterans need more to do.

The objective challenges idea is very neat, and could be a nice source of rubies for players. I'll add it to my to-do to discuss with the team.

The fact that there is only three rooms is the one that bothers me. It's not as bad when the fourth one opens up but that one keeps getting closed.

I also will come back to the game and find myself to have been moved to a different room, which is annoying as well but not as important as the fact that there isn't enough rooms and we are just all awkwardly squished together.

Thanks for clarifying. The rooms changing would be related to the number of players with chat open at the time. I can see why the request to have the rooms behave more like the Steam chat would come up.

Hello Erika,

could we maybe get a way to sort the missions? I often find myself scrolling to look for the shortest ones. Or at least not getting thrown back to the top of the list after starting each mission would be nice.

Hi suoxons,

The mission list currently sorts by: - rarity (so Epic, Rare, Common) - mission type (gold missions altogether, ep altogether, etc.) - then length shortest to longest

I believe it snaps back to the top as part of refreshing the list from having the mission available to start and having it sort at the bottom of the list as currently running.

I'll add your votes for the sort by time across all missions and the not snapping to the items on our suggestion list, to consider for the mission screen revamp.

Hi Erika,

Thanks for the Runic chests, haven't been getting many Water Runes recently, or maybe I've also been overusing them. I had a question about gear upgrade missions. Is there any weightage as to which event crusader will be picked for a gear upgrade mission when one is available, or is it completely random? I feel like I get a lot of them for T1 event crusaders (could just be because I kept seeing Kyle or Momma Kaine in my past couple gear upgrade missions alongside Veronica and Larry, but especially the former two), so is there any particular weightage of the mission towards

  1. Lower tier event crusaders
  2. Event crusaders with an empty gear slot
  3. Event crusaders with overall "lower quality" gear i.e. a crusader with CRR gear would be favoured over one with UUR since they have a Common gear that needs upgrading
  4. Event crusaders with more gear that can be upgraded (a crusader with RRR is more favoured over CCL since the former has 3 pieces that could be upgraded further via the mission)
  5. Something else entirely that I've missed in this list / A combination of some of the above?

Hi Not_Pro,

You're welcome for the chests. :)

Probably a mix of RNG not giving you very many and using up the water runes, if you're going after a high level water rune combine.

The event Crusader gear missions only care about:

  • do you own that Crusader

  • are they not fully Epic yet

  • and is the mission off cooldown

It's only the recruit missions that care if you've unlocked the Crusaders of the previous tiers of the event.

It's possible that if you're focusing on crafting gear from recipes for the higher tier event Crusaders, then it looks like the missions are focusing more on the low tier Crusaders, but it's all RNG.

Hello there !

I rise once again some of the ideas I had some time ago.

1/ Uncapped free plays on regular campaigns (or at least, some way to go deeper there) : with more and more players just waiting for the next event for new crusader/skin or dungeons, it may be the right time to do it. You said you are working on tier 4 11th objectives for after the dungeon update, is there hope for that idea to be included there or not ?

2a/ Alternate missions : some runes, rubies, materials, chests,... awarded for doing a quest differently than the regular one. Or make a milestone reward system just like the challenges but more frequent or directly with the existing campaigns.

2b/ Random reward on FP : instead of just the idols, give something else for doing FP.

3/ Rune system : adding a "merge to lv X" or "merge to max lv" option.

4/ In the Play History panel, separate some data : resets, missions/ crafts and chest drop

To all that, I thought of some new things :

A/ When all the crusaders have access to their 5th rune, maybe give us a button to unlock all remaining slots at once

B/ Compendium : an encyclopedia to check crusaders, skills, crafts and other things, where we cans see what we have or not

Like always, I wish a good week to the team and all the best !

Hi Dragon97240,

1) We won't be uncapping normal free plays, but there may be a cap increase included as rewards from some of the Tier 4 11ths.

2a) DoctorNovakaine also brought up redoing old objectives for extra rewards, and it has been a popular request in the past too. We'll revisit it.

2b) I'll add another vote to the more rewards from free plays item on our list.

3) I doubt anyone will have enough runes at once to merge to level 15 often enough to need a separate button, but adding ways to level up runes quicker is on our QoL radar for a future update.

4) I'll add your vote to that item on our list.

A) I'll add your vote to the item about unlocking all slots at once, and we'll see what happens.

B) An in-game place to look at Crusaders would be cool, and has come up before. Vote added!

Have a good week yourself as well. :)

3) When I said max lv, it would more be "to the maximum reachable level" as in if you have enough runes (from 1 to 5) for a lv 8 max, it would stop there. Of course, if you have what it takes to do a lv 15, it would do it too ;)

A) Maybe it was too vague, said like that ... lets rephrase it : unlocking all remaining slots per crusader. 160 crusaders, 10 catalysts for each of them : sums up to a total of 1600 catalysts maximum. Even if I don't doubt some players have them, maybe too much in one go, right ?

Gotcha, thank you for clarifying. :)

I've updated the requests on my list.

I hope you are doing well Erika and team!

As one of the "end-game" players, I was thinking about ways to make the game more playable during these non-season times. One idea that came to mind was additional challenges (running 2-3 per week) instead of just 1. It allows us to mess around with formations and still feel like we have something productive to do. I assume this would not be too difficult to do (but could be wrong).

In addition, it would be cool to add some new challenges that force particular crusaders into the formation (similar to events). I know this might pose an issue with new players but could be cool.

Over the last few weeks, I have just logged in once a day for offers and missions and then played in the challenges. Right now, I want to play but feel like I can't really play, kind of sucks.

Hi isawbones,

We're doing well, thank you for asking.

Yeah, the end-game content has come up a lot during this Q&A. Having more challenges available for players to run could also be another solution to mix things up, if there's future breaks between seasons.
