AHHH I haven't been able to test it myself because I don't have a steam deck but valve tested it themselves and said it worked. Let me check with a friend of mine who has one and I'll get back to you.

Alright my friend tested it and said it's working for him, except the spelll videos don't play during the draft. That's a Wine/Linux thing that I've seen before, but the game itself should run fine. Can you try triple clicking the top left corner of the screen after you launch the game? That will hopefully allow you to report a bug to me which will include logs. Let me know!

Thanks,
Brett

I'm realizing that you meant the game doesn't boot up at all, so there's no way for you to report a bug in-game. Can you confirm whether or not you are still having this issue? If it's still not working for you, I could potentially attempt a Linux build of the game to see if that fixes it. Let me know!

Okay good news! I was able to build a Linux version of MageQuit and a friend of mine was able to start it up on his Steam Deck, so you should be good to give it a shot too!

For now, It'll be under the beta branch, so in your Steam library, you can right-click (or whatever the equivalent is on a Steam Deck touch screen) MageQuit, select the Betas tab, type in "magequitisfun" as the code, and then switch to the Beta branch.

Also, under the Compatibility tab, you may need to check the "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool" checkbox and then select "Steam Linux Runtime" from the dropdown.

You'll know if you have the right version if the version number in-game says "v2.4.5a (linux)"

Hopefully that'll actually start up for you!

No problem! And okay, let me know how it goes!

That's awesome!!! Glad that fixed it <3

Can you say a little more about the cloud saves thing? Players' gems, XP, and wardrobe unlocks are all saved off to a centralized MQ server so branch of the game shouldn't matter. There are some minor things that don't translate over like unlocked elements, but once you reach a certain XP threshold they are all unlocked by default regardless of device. Maybe that's what you're referring to?

Ohhh okay yeah I gotcha. You'll have to unlock the elements individually then since XP is only awarded in online matches. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for the clarification!

Absolutely! Thanks for testing it out and getting back to me 😁

One last update on this -- the Steam Deck / Linux build is on the main branch now! I've included some instructions for it including setting resolution for better in-game UI.
