War of the Spark Chronicles
- A five week event series, with a different format each week:
- Week 1: Momir
- (New!) Each deck will contain basic lands as well as the 36 War of the Spark planeswalkers!
- Week 2: Pauper
- Week 3: Singleton
- Week 4: (New!) Counters: At the beginning of your end step, put a loyalty counter on each planeswalker you control and a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control with a +1/+1 counter on it. If you control no creatures with a +1/+1 counter and no planeswalkers, amass 1.
- Week 5: Ravnica Constructed
- Week 1: Momir
- No entry fee.
- Earn rewards based on the number of wins, including Planeswalker glass styles! Rewards for a given win number will be awarded as soon as the player earns that many wins.
- New Win/Loss format: Earn rewards up to 15 wins, and losses are not tracked.
- For formats that require a Constructed deck, you'll be able to make changes to your deck without having to start the event over.
- All games will contribute towards daily quest rewards and weekly win bonuses; event rewards can only be earned once.
- Important Note: Persistent Petitioners is banned in Pauper, and Gates Ablaze is banned in Ravnica Constructed.

Gameplay
Best-of-Three Match Clock
- Best-of-three ("Traditional") formats will now have a match clock in addition to turn timers.
- Each player is given 30 minutes on their respective match clock that will count down whenever they have priority.
- Players can hover their timer (lower left, above their player name) to see the amount of time remaining on their match clock.
- The match clock will automatically become visible once a player's time begins to run low:
- Game 1: Less than 10 minutes remain.
- Game 2: Less than 8 minutes remain.
- Game 3: Less than 6 minutes remain.
- When a player's match clock runs out of time they will lose the match regardless of their win/loss record and/or state of the current in-progress game.
- The match clock does not run while players are sideboarding.
Direct Challenge
- A new "Tournament Match" option is available for Direct Challenges. Players can now toggle between Challenge Match (players can customize match options) and Tournament Match (match options are pre-determined based on traditional tournament rules).
- Tournament Matches will automatically use the following match options. These cannot be changed:
- Format: Best-of-Three
- Who Goes First: Coin Flip
- Decklist: 60-Card Traditional Standard with optional sideboard.
- Timers: Match Clock and Turn Timers
- Important Note: Players can use either Challenge Match or Tournament Match when using Direct Challenge. If one player selects Challenge Match, and the other Tournament Match, you will receive a mismatch options error.
Auto-Tap
- We've added a new optional way for AutoTap to pay for spells and abilities.
- Any time that you need to pay mana and AutoTap doesn't handle it automatically (Convoke, sacrificing a Treasure token, 'whenever CARDNAME attacks', or because you have AutoTap turned off) there is now a button that will allow you to use AutoTap to pay the cost.
- Hovering the AutoTap buttown will highlight what the AutoTap will use if selected, including creatures tapped, Treasure tokens sacrificed, etc.
- Clicking this button will pay the cost, including sacrificing Treasure tokens, that AutoTap normally doesn't do.
User Interface
- Updated the UI around copying distribution effects to make the process more clear.
- When copying a distribution effect, the game will now correctly prevent players from attempting to change the distribution values.
- You can still change the targets, and which of the distribution values they receive.
- Kicked spells now have a Kicker VFX when on the stack.
- When selecting multiple cards to exile that can be cast later (e.g. with Thief of Sanity, or Vivien, Champion of the Wilds), the cards that can be cast later are now highlighted.
Deck Builder
Basic Land Filter
- Players can now use the Advanced Filter to view basic land illustrations available in Magic: The Gathering Arena, and add the preferred basic land to their deck.
- The filter is located in the Advanced Filter options, next to card rarities (basic lands are treated as their own card rarity).
- Basic lands are only viewable while the Advanced Filter option is selected; trying to search for "Swamp" without this filter enabled will not display Basic Land - Swamp cards.
- Players can use the mana symbols to sort by color identity. For example, if both Basic Lands and the green mana symbol are selected as filters, the deck builder will display available Basic Land - Forests.
- The basic land filter is also available in limited events (Draft and Sealed) during deck building.
Card Styles
- Newly collected card styles will be automatically applied to the corresponding cards in all of your decks.
- "Auto Apply Card Styles" is a setting that can be disabled in the options menu.
Crafting
- The Craft button has returned! You can find it on the top right of the Collection and/or the deck builder page. Selecting it will enable Crafting mode.
- When Crafting mode is enabled, your Collection will show both collected and uncollected cards.
- When you select an uncollected card or cards you have less than four copies while Crafting mode is enabled, you will be given you the option to Craft the card.
Store
Card Styles
- The Card Styles page in the Store will now feature select card styles for purchase.
- You can select Browse Card Styles to view all available card styles in-game.

- Spark Double: 500 Gems
- Oath of Kaya: 500 Gems

Bug Fixes
- Lands targeted by untap abilities should now visually untap immediately (e.g. Nissa, Who Shakes the World's +1 ability).
- Legendary tokens that gain abilities should now display properly.
- Sacrificing Angrath, Captain of Chaos to Devouring Hellion should no longer give Devouring Hellion Menace (must have been something he ate...)
- Cabal Stronghold should no longer generate incorrect amounts of mana.
- Exiled cards that can be cast with mana of any type can bow be cast using their alternative casting costs (e.g. if you used Hostage Taker to exile Zahid, Djinn of the Lamp)
- Planeswalker static abilities should now apply correctly if they change controllers.
- Dead Man's Chest should no longer cause mana to be inappropriately used "as though it were mana of any type".
- When choosing the proliferate mode of Planewide Celebration multiple times, future instances of proliferate should now properly apply.
