[2022] What’s the word, CMs? [Serious]

To preface, I hope the Scopely team had a safe and fun Independence Day weekend. It’s hard to expect any official communication on a national holiday weekend.

Now to the fun part. Historically, MSF has released content on Fridays, and some have been executed less than favorably, and we get zero communications until the following week. When this happens, it causes players to stew on the issue, and it creates an issue with staff attentiveness.

It is no secret that Scopely has largely dropped the ball in the past, and they’ve had to compensate to make up for not the players issues, but their own issues and incompetence. Again, these issues are not player issues, they are release issues caused by the Scopely team.

I work in department with a product that has a small support team and what feels like a smaller dev team. I fully empathize that every patch will never always be a perfect release, but my team is coherent enough to watch patch releases and address issues as they occur, and not allow more customers to experience issues than necessary.

I don’t spend a lot, but as a 1500+ day player I do spend some money on this game. Should players be penalized for buying an offer without knowing there was an issue that over compensated? No. Should other players that jumped on this opportunity be penalized because of others players goldmine discovery? No. Scopely has penalized those players, and all the while the offer was removed preventing anyone else to take advantage of a faulty release, now we’re disadvantaged and not because of our own actions, but because of Scopely’s actions.

It is now Tuesday, July 5th, 4 days after this incident started, we were informed we would be provided official communication so I ask what exactly is to be said?

Yes, players deserve to be treated better. Are we asking for compensation? Not necessarily, we are asking for the Scopely team to make it right. If that involves compensation, then so be it.

Stop penalizing players for scopely’s issues. I understand this heavily throws a wrench in the release plan with the monthly milestones, but that’s ultimately not the players fault, it’s Scopely’s.
