I wish I could talk about this subject with more nuance, but on Twitter the character limit completely discourages this. To those who will comment it, this is COMPLETELY different to getting paid to be a commentator, streamer or esports professional. Those are not predatory.

Play to earn has problems of baking in predatory economic structures into the mechanics fo the game in order to make money for everyone involved, not least the developers themselves who get to make royalties on all transactions. This RUINS gameplay, and encourages unfun design.

It is no coincidence that the Play-to-Earn crypto games f*cking suck ass. They are designed from the ground up to inflate the price of their economy, and by extent increase the value of the cryptocurrency its blockchain is based on. This is all a f*cking scam. Do not be fooled.

There is no reality where a game's mechanics focused on increasing economic value will produce anything other than grindy, horrific gameplay mechanics that strip everything interesting and engaging about the games we have RIGHT NOW. Don't be pursuaded by these absolute hacks.

@TheAFSwan Exactly, why would anyone buy an NFT from a play to earn game if it was fun to obtain that NFT? It HAS to be boring as f*ck so that players DON'T want to grind for it. This is what this model encourages. You have been warned if you really think this is good for games.
