@samuelwaggoner Yes, to some extent. But we also need to do manual testing. Automated tests are mostly to check basic things like did we write the same config params on both codebases.
Unfortunately the seeds have been shuffled again, so worlds will not look like they did in previous snapshots. Hopefully world seeds will be stable after this though, so let the real seed hunt begin!
Keep in mind that we still have some work left to do with world upgrading, for example adding new caves below old chunks. So you might want to hold off on upgrading worlds that you care a lot about.
@gabrielmasc2108 Those biomes do have differences, but very minor. We considered removing or merging more biomes, but didn't get around to it. So those are keepers for now at least.
@MarkManFlame_55 That is intended. Not very pretty I admit, but it is a side effect of how aquifers work. As long as it doesn't happen too often we are OK with it.
@Obduran Yeah that’s the risk with snapshots in an update focused entirely on worldgen. But as I mentioned, hopefully we’re done with seed shuffling now :)
