@mineman_marin @teamguilded Nah, I just don't want to enable NFTs. A simple choice really. If Discord doesn't go ahead with any bigger plans I can see myself staying on Discord because I truly love the app/design, but I'll be keeping my eye on other alternatives otherwise.

@LexManos @voxcpw I'm personally not so sure that losing items on death is all that interesting of a consequence, ESPECIALLY if you have a chance to come back and get them through corpserunning. I think it's just a leftover design smell of bygone days, and Minecraft suffers for it sometimes.

@LexManos @voxcpw If item loss is really a consequence that should be baked into an item progression game, it makes much more sense you lose a small percentage of items, and you cannot get them back. That all depends on how difficult it is to get items back through other means, of course.

@LexManos @voxcpw I think Runescape kinda does this well, but its progression is much more than items, which makes the consequence of losing items in PvP, for example, not as horrific since you still retain all your stats and XP, but the loss of items still hurts and is a genuine consequence.

@LexManos @voxcpw But even Runescape drops items, the difference is it's rarely viable to get your items back in difficult locations, so most people I see play never try.

@LexManos @voxcpw In my opinion, it's still not a fun experience. I've never felt good about losing items in a game, or having to return with no tools at my disposal to get it back. I think some games do it better, but it's a fundamentally flawed mechanic that removes people further from the fun.

Furthermore, I hate the idea of implementing a hyper capitalist approach to our daily internet lives with the concept of ownership. The beautiful thing about the internet is lack thereof.

@KinJey_ You are mistaking constructive feedback for "being rude". I care if you don't like a feature or think it can be improved in some way. Same with an update. But attacking devs directly, calling them lazy, posting memes about them working 30 minutes a day, yeah that can be blocked.

@QverSoul It's definitely not criticism. But my block button is easy to press when people call Minecraft developers lazy. That's uninformed and not useful, so I will not lose anything by blocking them. If they just say they don't like something or think it could be better: that's AWESOME
