@WarpedLGR @_xiaolin2_ @TheBisquit_ Your argument is correct, but it argues against your own point. Minecraft is indeed enjoyed by a very diverse set of playstyles, and not everyone loves combat, or bosses, or dungeons. I love them myself, but to say that an update should only focus on that forgets other players.
@WarpedLGR @_xiaolin2_ @TheBisquit_ There is room for updates that focus on different playstyles more or less. In general we try to focus on a little bit of everything, but this update is definitely leaning more into creativity and for a game that so heavily inspires creativity in people, it's not a bad idea.
@JeylPrime @osamadorias @poik007 There are more reasons for a game having bad hit detection than "the game devs were bad at their job". It can be anything from strict deadlines, to poor management, to horrible legacy code that is impossible to untangle (and likely you are not given the time to actually do that)
@osamadorias I'm conflicted on this. I wouldn't mind if it was more nuanced and constructive, but it often is just "lazy dev". More than anything I think it should be aimed at the publisher or the people in charge. Developers very rarely get a say in how a "bad decision" is made.
@chhopsky @CosmetiqueTTV @winnkey @Ian_Fisch @osamadorias +1 to everything you've said in this thread. People really don't seem to understand the complex nature of team structures and how responsibility is delegated (which by the way, is vastly different in basically every company).
