You may have seen "Client Side Generation" mentioned, an exciting new feature that lets you create chunks locally without the server sending them over the network. @LateLagMC Good question! No, the client would only be generating brand new chunks that haven't been modified by players. However, there are some other tricks involving caching and splitting chunks into subchunks that should speed up performance and reduce server load.

@SoftBoyBedrock We would like to eventually, but we're looking at render distance first.
