[2019] I just started playing recently...

I'm like level six or something and I'm not very good, I can get a kill here and there but I'm mostly just getting killed and I was playing on some ice map earlier and just getting slaughtered over and over by level 80s and 90s. Fair enough I'm in Australia, there's not many servers here so you got to expect that and really there's no shame losing to someone who has maybe a hundred hours playing the game when I only started playing two days ago. So I switched over to engineer to at least try to make myself useful, I've only just figured out how to make turrets so I really wanted to give that a go and at first it was good. I wasn't getting many kills heck maybe one out of a dozen shots would actually hit someone and even then it was just a body shot that did 40pts of damage and they just carried on regardless, but it was something, it was fun.

Then this prick called poochie comes along and breaks my turret, I build another and he breaks that too, makes a point of standing in front of me so I can see him do it. This isn't an enemy mind you this is an "ally" going out of his way to stop me playing the game the way I wanted to play. Look I can understand that sitting on a turret giving laughably ineffective suppression fire isn't really in the spirit of a game about up close and personal medieval combat, but it is part of the game. If you don't like it you're entitled to your opinion, you can go bitch to the devs about it if you really feel that strongly, but for f*cksake leave me alone, if I want to play in a sub-optimal way just let me have my fun, it's no business of yours.

Now that being said if you're on the enemy team by all means go for me, I have yet to find a position where you can't outflank me or nail me with a crossbow or javelin and I know people love going for the engineers because they're easy targets. Heck at times I've started building things (inoffensive things like barricades) out in the open where they're not really doing anything except being visible because I know it'll aggro seemingly half the enemy team into chasing me rather than capturing the point, I dunno why they think I'm that important but hey if it helps my team I'll do it.

Anyway at the moment I'm on the fence about whether I want to keep playing, I've being having fun no doubt about it but there's also other fun games out there where I'm not expected to take my lumps until I can get to a semi-competitive level and I'm somewhat embittered by the fact that some guy on my own team made it his mission to f*ck with me rather than just play the f*cking game.
