Banners cost 10 points.

They can be used two handed with normal mode Spear stats but with no Speartip (i.e pretty sh*t cus the stab does the terrible 'slash' damage), or the alt mode: held offhand with a 1-handed primary weapon. (It defaults to this if you place the banner in the second slot.)

All allies within 10 meters of a live banner gets friendly, tenacious, and tenacious but for stamina. Banners don't grant this bonus to the wielder unless Planted. The banner buff aura is not visible but a banner icon appears on your health bar if you are buffed.

Banners are live if wielded or planted, but not if they are on your back/sheathed. Holding r will plant the banner in the ground. Any melee attack or kick from an enemy will 1 shot a planted banner. A careful archer can shoot a flag with 2 arrows to make it tear off the pole.

Bannermen get 5% of the points that their buffed allies gain.

This adds a new support 'class' to the game. It also adds a new team oriented purpose to archers, horsemen, and engineers: Bannermen Slaying. (And protecting their bannermen from their enemy counterparts)

The stamina buff might be a little extreme and might be toned down.

we don't want passive buffs that would work like this because it would get weird if you're at 10.1 meters and then you don't get any buff etc.

that being said i have talked to the team a bunch about having team-based map/pickup weapons and a banner could be a cool one, maybe tying into a mobile spawn system or something related to that. no guarantees at all, we're busy with some other stuff at the moment but it's definitely something that we could explore in the future.
