So I only got this game a few days ago, but i feel like i've got the basics down. I've spent the majority of my time (which is about 22 hours now) in 1v1 servers or in the ranked 1v1 beta. As a result i feel like I can fairly consistently pull off morphs, feints, chambers, and combinations of those three. I can also perform accels pretty reasonably. However, the one mechanic that I can't seem to get right (and always wrecks me) is drags.

I get the basic concept behind them-which is to hit at the very end of the weapon swing, causing the parry timing to be later than usual. The problem is, the mechanical skill of it seems to be too much for me. As soon as i begin to make an attack, my sensitivity is drastically reduced, so i can't turn my attack enough to cause any significant difference to parry timing, unless I swipe my mouse as far as possible across my desk, which only just makes enough difference. Despite this, I see other people (my opponents and players on youtube) casually perform disgustingly long drags which massively throw off my timing. Clearly I am missing something, but I'm not sure what, so I'd greatly appreciate any tips and advice in how to properly pull off and utilise drags.

p.s. the game is super fun so far, and thanks a ton for any help!

Adding to what others have said, you can either do a drag from neutral (i.e. looking straight at some guy and dragging from there) or start your attack as if it was an accel (for example, overhead attack while looking down) and then drag that attack out. I would say at top tier play neutral drags can be really scary, but you're better off learning to do them with attacks looking like an accel and then dragging them - this will give you the largest timing mixup and they should be much easier to pull off. Good luck and have fun!

mm they're not necessarily superior to fake accels, but you get more vision of your enemy/surroundings, and they don't telegraph what you're doing. A fake-accel drag is either going to be a super fast accel or a big drag.

Neutral drags, you don't really know until it happens right?
