2s people talking about is uh you know
4s there's there's there's PVP uh there's
7s PVE and then there's this new thing
9s called PVD can you tell me about that

33s Josh and uh yeah I just wanted to
36s acknowledge our our new cool set we have
39s here as you can see behind me uh this is
41s everfall live feed not really but it
46s looks real um but yeah let's just jump
48s right into it and talk about PTR because
50s PTR is out there uh we've been getting a
53s lot of great feedback from everyone uh
55s we have a lot of really really big
57s features um in this PTR uh one of the
60s ones I'm most excited about is
61s controller support um that's something
63s that has it's been a long time coming
65s and uh we've been working on it it's
67s just really great to to see it out there
69s and and and see the responses um what
71s are you excited about Josh in in this
73s PTR I think the thing I'm most excited
75s for is the the combat scripting changes
77s uh it just opens up a door to do so many
79s cooler things that we couldn't
80s previously do with the older system just
82s due to Performance and just yeah gives
85s us a little bit more freedom to
87s experiment and see what we can do with
89s it yeah let's talk about that a little
90s bit we are aware that it's not perfect
93s um there this was definitely this was a
96s huge undertaking I I mean basically uh
99s the entire scripting um language has
103s been replaced with a new language um and
105s we had to rewrite everything from
107s scratch um basically you know trying to
108s convert things over keeping it one as
111s one to one as possible U but we know
113s that there's there's issues out there
114s and um it's been great getting the
116s feedback on PTR that this why it's so
118s important that we have PTR is cuz
121s uh we can see these these issues and and
124s actually address them before they go
126s live uh in season 5 so um we're and
129s we're definitely uh on track to to get
132s like the most major issues fixed by by
135s launch there might still be some minor
137s cosmetic things um and we'll be fixing
139s those over the next uh coming updates uh
141s so what else is coming out in in PTR
144s like or people should be aware of that's
145s coming for season five couple things one
148s of the big ones is kind of like
149s Universal across all players will notice
151s is that uh we did some equip load
153s balance changes um that they're still
156s the first step ideally we'd want to keep
157s adding to them and kind of make more
158s interesting changes with the equip load
161s but this was just kind of like the first
162s uh modification to try and make medium
165s the kind of default where there's no Pro
167s Pros or cons or positives or negative
169s negatives to it we're paying attention
171s to feedback on those we have a couple
172s ideas of things to change but we want to
174s kind of let it stew a little bit to kind
176s of see how equip loads change since
178s we've done that um another one is just
180s artifacts there's a new wave of
182s artifacts coming in which uh we've
185s already seen a good amount of feedback
186s on them and there's two that we're
187s looking into potentially making
189s adjustments for which is the Phoenix and
191s the Venom ones uh they're likely just a
194s little bit too strong so we want to kind
195s of reel them back in a little bit before
197s we let those go live cool uh what about
200s something I'm I'm seeing uh a lot of
202s people talking about is uh you know
204s there's there's there's PVP uh there's
207s PVE and then there's this new thing
208s called PVD oh can you tell me about that
210s what is that oh yeah player versus door
212s uh so yeah the endgame boss that we that
215s got implemented on not really
216s intentionally with that oppr door uh
219s just too much health we're healed too
221s quickly uh so we tried to reel that boss
223s back in and make it a little bit more
225s manageable so we've uh made it take a
227s little bit longer to repair added a
229s couple weaknesses to it um we still want
232s the PVE aspect of oppr to still have
235s some use to it so they're still like
237s hopefully the doors still get built but
239s they hopefully they're not just
240s invulnerable anymore like they used to
242s be so I'm sure that's a welcome change
245s for the community yeah so uh for
249s upcoming things like for future Seasons
251s so we we covered season five um and and
254s largely uh PTR is is you know what what
257s we're g to ship in season five um but
260s what about future Seasons um we're uh
262s we're working on some some new uh
265s quality of life improvements on on some
267s of the weapons like can you tell me a
268s little bit about what we've been doing
269s there cool yeah so one thing I've been
271s looking to do recently is just as we
273s talked about the previous episode uh
276s kind of Mana changes to kind of make
278s Mana feel a little bit more valuable so
280s I'm looking into the like regenerate how
283s much the abilities cost any sort of
285s benefit that can like give you Mana back
288s or give you benefits based on your Mana
290s so I'm kind of going through all the
292s atbs perks passives uh consumables to
295s just try and make Mana feel better but
297s less limiting in certain aspects of it
300s because yeah Mana is either kind of
302s useless or a major limiter especially in
304s lower levels as like starting characters
306s or you just start using a weapon and you
308s don't have all the benefits for it yet
310s or you may not have that many
311s consumables so just trying to make Mana
313s feel like it has a little bit more value
315s and then potentially with that uh treat
317s Mana as more of a limiter than uh
320s cooldowns are so we can kind of adjust
322s those to kind of just make it feel a
324s little bit more fun and different for
325s those weapons without having it just be
328s too kind of limiters at the other
330s weapons don't have cool yeah that's
332s definitely for me um when I think of
334s like Mana based weapons it's uh what
338s makes them unique is that they're
339s limited by Mana and not and and less so
342s on the cooldowns obviously the cool
343s Downs are still important for balancing
345s like the the like highly damaging
348s abilities but to you know to have the
350s ability to do more more like bursting or
354s and like more more resource management
356s and actually caring about Mana I think
358s is the goal there right yeah there's
360s just a lot of tuning with it so locally
362s I'm going to try a bunch we're going to
363s have play tests see how it works and
365s hopefully get it out in a really good
367s State the first try but if not we'll we
368s can always tune it and adjust it awesome
371s yeah and also like you know we're always
373s um looking to the Future and um thinking
376s about the next the next weapon uh we
378s don't have anything to announce at this
379s time but um it's definitely something
381s that uh we're starting to to to talk
384s about but in the in the short term what
385s we're actually uh focused on right now
388s is we're focused on doing more uh more
391s reworks of our existing weapons um to
393s kind of go back we you know we did a
395s little bit of that last year um with
398s like the the fire staff and the musket
401s um and and we want to get back to that
403s and and really just like focus in on
404s each weapon and like what makes this
406s weapon unique what makes it um fun and
408s and what can we what what can we do to
411s to just make it easier to use more fun
412s to use um like like Josh was talking
415s about um the the um the magic weapons
419s like making those more fun to play
421s especially like early early game like if
424s you if you picked up a fire staff and
426s you wanted to level up with it like uh
428s that that experience today isn't great
430s um so like those are the sorts of things
432s that we want to focus
433s on it is definitely we're definitely at
435s a point where we have you know so much
438s Focus has been on um on Slayer script
441s and uh getting um just getting the game
444s back into the same state that it was in
447s in in cage and uh in cage script which
450s was our old script scripting language um
454s and that's that's really taken uh the
456s bulk of our time um but we're we're
459s definitely getting back to a place now
461s where we can uh we can focus in on
465s making the game better right like this
467s animation uh and scripting replacement
470s that we we've implemented is the is it's
473s unlocking the future of of new world and
475s New World Combat um we will be able to
478s as designers um do way more than we were
481s ever able to do uh on our own in the
484s previous system like you know if you
486s wanted to make a a new a new weapon in
489s the old system like you know how much
491s engineering would you have to ask for
493s just to just to start on that oh yeah
495s just the core foundations of a new
496s weapon was just a lot of engineering
499s building that for us and then we'd have
501s to wait for them and then kind of start
502s getting our own scripting in but this
504s kind of streamlines it um also just yeah
507s like our main goal with the new rting is
510s just a it's either in parody with cage
512s which was our old system or or better
515s and yeah we have some rough stuff in the
517s PTR but our PTR build is also kind of
519s behind where we are in our like local
521s testing and development builds and so
523s there's already a pretty good
524s Improvement that we are experiencing
527s locally that will be hopefully going out
529s in either the another PTR update or when
531s season five goes alive all right that
