Currently, the sword is the only weapon in-game that you can use with the shield. It offers great protection by blocking projectiles and also has strong block stability!
The sword is a fairly quick melee weapon which makes it great for close quarters combat!
Swords do not have the best range, so this makes it tough to fight enemies with spears or axes...
Cooldowns are long! So missing while using abilities can be a bit rough...

@khayows We aren't able to issue keys via social media for the Alpha. Everyone who signs up via, https://www.newworld.com/en-us/beta-sign-up, will be eligible to participate. Testers will be invited at random and via email so keep an eye on your inbox. They're still going out as need is determined.
