22s walk through and introduce everyone
24s pretty sure you all know Katie and Dave
26s who've been in a lot of these I'm trying
28s to move my mic with me I got Rosie who
31s is our world experience art lead
33s Dave McKenzie in the back who's a world

38s who runs our as a PO for our mounts and
40s our social team J.R who's our PEX lead

65s um anyway rather than going uh me
68s talking a lot more I just want to dive
69s right into the expansion again rise of
72s the angry Earth expansion coming out in
73s October
75s there's a feature that that I've seen on
77s the Reddit a couple times in the last
79s year that people have been asking for so
81s why don't we start with that Dan can you
83s tell us a little bit about mounts
87s hi everybody uh yeah I've seen those
90s comments too Scott
92s um so when you when you hop into the uh
95s the rise of the angry Earth expansion
97s you're gonna you're gonna if you open up
99s your map you're gonna see an icon and
101s that icon is a horse head icon if you go
104s to that icon it's in the north part of
106s everfall you will be able to ride around
109s our game on Mount
111s it's very exciting very exciting what
114s can I ride well when you start out
116s you're gonna have a horse
119s um I almost want to say like it's
121s spoilers and we shouldn't say but you
123s get a horse you get a wolf and you get a
126s lion you get very you get a ton of
129s variety within each uh there's kind of
131s like a quest line to go with it
133s um and yeah
135s so I don't know one thing I think is
137s pretty cool about about mounts is uh
140s you know you don't start off at Max
142s Speed like like you actually the more
144s you ride them and the more things you do
145s you can get better at riding and that
146s can gain speed and they're like can you
148s talk just a little bit about like
150s how you get better at going faster other
152s ways you can like is my Mount stock can
154s I can I make changes to it are there
156s things I can do to enhance it yeah so to
159s go in a little more detail about how
161s that works uh as you as you accumulate
163s mounts first of all you know the the go
165s into your kind of roster of mounts you
168s you will have them forever at that point
170s you can rename them whatever you want
171s they do come with cool names
173s um as you as you ride uh you'll you'll
176s go through kind of like a series of
177s quests and then there's alternate ways
179s where you can accumulate uh writing
181s trade skill the higher your trade skill
183s the faster you can ride there's also a
186s bunch of other uh small bits and Bobs
188s along the way as you level uh we have we
191s have some slots for your Mount where you
193s can equip kind of like trinkets for them
195s uh where you can kind of customize how
197s you want your Mount to ride different
200s different Buffs that you get when you're
202s dismounted uh so it's it's light but
205s there's a lot of variety there for sure
207s and I think you can also attach things
209s to your Mountain so like so visually
211s they like they look different absolutely
212s yeah we have uh we have two slots on the
215s back of your Mount they're working all
216s the mounts and there's a variety of ways
218s to earn those everybody can see them as
220s you as you ride around the world
222s it's it's so cool how much it changes
224s the game it's a one of the stories I've
227s been telling internally that like is
228s really cool to me is uh when you do the
230s ecrs if you do those chest runs a lot
233s um a lot of times like you'll go to
235s merckard and you'll be waiting for the
236s mines to end and like right now in live
238s it's it feels really cool when you see
240s 30 40 50 people run over the hill just
243s wait till you see that like people on
244s horses and wolves and why it's just it's
247s just cool it changes the feel of the
249s world
250s and the mounts just like a lot of care
253s went into making the mounts come out and
255s they feel really good the way just
256s driving them through the world so like
257s cannot wait to share that with you we've
260s got a lot of very talented artists and
261s animators working on these and that love
263s shows they're they're they really feel
265s cool to ride

269s um something else we're doing that we
271s haven't really advertised uh Dave V
274s is a level cap increase yeah all sorts
277s of new progression with the expansion uh
280s the first one is the level increase
281s super cool you'll now be able to level
283s up to 65. one of the things we did here
286s was we didn't sort of add artificial
287s time or anything the content of the
289s expansion uh dictates the length so sort
292s of as you progress through the msq
294s you'll naturally sort of end up at 65 at
296s the end you'll get more attributes from
298s that another thing that's coming is
300s we're going to increase the gear score
301s so gear score is going up to 700. You'll
305s also get more attributes with that so
307s that'll unlock some new attribute
309s threshold bonuses which is going to be
311s cool
313s yeah and when we when we raise the gear
315s score we're also removing some types of
317s gear we're doing some perk changes you
319s don't want to switch on that yeah lots
320s of changes there uh as we've talked
321s about already Wards and Banes are going
323s by so what we're trying to do is is
325s remove sort of those mandatory perks uh
328s and make it more interesting to just
330s choose perks you like so with that we
332s did a perk rebalance so trying to bring
335s up the less used perks maybe even some
337s slight Nerfs on things like Attunement
339s some of the strong ones to make try to
341s set everything on the same level uh
343s another big change is you know we're
345s removing expertise and uh with um
349s umbrella upgrading also so lots of big
350s changes coming to it uh one of my
353s favorite pieces uh is loot biasing right
355s so what this is is you'll be getting
358s less gear but gear that matters to you
360s more it'll be based on you know what
362s weapons you have equipped what your
363s equip load is your attributes all these
365s things will affect your drops so that
367s they'll matter more
369s yeah and I mean and with that comes some
371s trade skill changes right absolutely
373s trade skills are going up also uh up to
375s 250. there will be new items in the
377s world that you can gather uh there's new
380s refining that goes with that and then in
382s crafting the biggest change is we're
384s trying to make it more valuable you will
386s have more control over what you can
388s craft uh in fact you'll have complete
390s control with the Prismatic Prismatic
393s Scarab sorry about that uh now this will
396s come you know with some limitations and
398s some extra costs but that ability to get
400s the exact item you want I think will be
402s huge for players
404s and then I think the last thing that
405s goes with it has to do with the factions
407s so yeah yet another way to progress your
410s character it's the list just keeps going
412s Katie I love this uh yes we're adding a
415s new level uh of faction ranks so you'll
417s now be able to get a six strength uh
419s with that becomes sorry comes a whole
421s nother set of items in the store that
423s players can get at so it's gonna be
424s awesome that's so cool is it me or does
427s holding a mic make you feel like you're
428s on a game show changing your voice I'm
430s going to call someone down for the next

433s that's very very strange it's different
435s for us but we're trying all right so we
438s have a lot more stuff coming with this
439s uh
440s the next one
442s you know we always say that uh because
444s our weapons are our classes every time
446s we add a weapon it feels like you're
447s adding another class and you know I
449s think some of you had heard about the
450s flail but I thought I'd let Josh do a
453s bit of a deep dive on the flail Force
455s yeah so the new weapon company expansion
457s is the flail uh can pair with the shield
459s similar to the sword and shield and uh
461s there's two trees to it like all weapons
464s but uh it's more driven towards support
467s and assisting allies over just raw DPS
469s so the left tree is more about healing
472s and kind of debuffing enemies while
474s buffing your allies and then the right
476s tree is more tanking and building up
478s your survivability along with your
480s allies and also attacking enemy
483s simultaneously it's very aggressive
485s weapon but aggressively supportive
487s from a gameplay you want to go yeah one
490s thing I was going to say what I love
491s about the weapon is that it's the first
493s weapon that the actual weapon is
495s animated so it just looks cool like we
497s call it a flail but the head of the
499s flail actually extends quite a bit like
501s there's tons of cool whipping motion and
503s like some of the abilities just look
505s really really cool
506s yeah I was gonna say that's kind of
508s where I was going like
509s when you're in gameplay it just feels
511s different than everything else in the
513s game and it's kind of cool to be like a
515s kind of a short-ranged melee or a ranged
517s melee it's at times and I think I think
519s the animators did a great job I think
521s the VFX are really cool
523s but it it
525s it's really neat to finally be able to
527s play that Paladin or cleric class like
529s it it allows you to play the game in
531s ways you wouldn't normally play yeah I
533s think what I like about it is it it
535s gives another option to healers and to
537s tanks right like you can use it as an
539s off tank or as an off heel and I think
541s it's just going to open up a lot of cool
542s build options and we're usually
545s surprised by the players finding
547s different ways to play with it so I'm
548s sure they'll find a DPS option that we
550s just kind of hadn't considered and
551s that's that's pretty cool as well
554s um
556s how about
558s so this is a feature we haven't talked
560s about at all yet I'm looking at you
562s Davey um
565s but it's another one that changes
566s gameplay and it ties into the level
568s increase and the perk stuff you want to
570s talk about artifacts artifacts
572s absolutely artifacts is a new sort of
575s tier of weapons uh they are super
578s powerful they each come with sort of a
580s gameplay defining perk what's special is
582s that the only place you can find this
584s perk is on this weapon so they're unique
586s to that weapon and they change gameplay
589s one of my favorite ones Abyss uh it'll
592s it's a great ax which scales off int
595s right so like totally changes your build
596s like now I can do like you know fire
599s staff and a great great ax totally cool
602s uh what's you know they're so powerful
604s that we actually had to sort of limit
606s them so you can only have one weapon uh
608s one armor and one trinket but they're
610s really cool and there's a really cool
612s way to power them up uh Vince can you
614s talk a little bit about that yeah cool
616s um so artifacts are interesting like
617s they each each perk basically starts
619s sort of locked they have their own sort
621s of uh mini objective or or a goal that a
625s player needs to accomplish basically
626s unlock that perk
628s um and as you kind of sort of progress
629s and use the weapon you'll make progress
631s towards these things they also have sort
633s of the unique treatment in the UI that
635s sort of emphasize how cool they are and
636s unique they are um and you know we think
639s it'll change the meta we think it's very
640s exciting for for players um and you know
643s both obviously get as a drop but also an
644s end game uh and you know discover uh
647s ways to use them differently
649s yeah we always wanted an item you could
651s chase after right something like that
653s like oh I really want to get this item
655s and I think that was the goal here so
657s and I think it kind of goes along with
659s our goals for the perk change which is
661s we don't want you to like say oh you
663s have to have this item to come play with
664s us at these higher level things we
666s wanted players to to be able to build
668s around the gameplay they find fun and I
670s think this leans into that pretty
671s heavily and it's just like feels really
673s really good so far
676s oh we got a lot more to talk about so we
678s made some changes to Expeditions and
681s mutations
682s um you want to start us off on that
684s Katie take Dave's mic he doesn't need it
686s sure yeah so
689s um coming with you know this this
692s release
693s um what we what we heard from players is
696s that
697s um you know there's a lot of folks that
699s went from the regular Expedition through
701s all the mutations but there's an even
704s larger number that tried the regular
706s Expedition and it just it wasn't fun
710s they got you know walloped in there the
713s mobs took them out they couldn't beat
715s Nash at all
717s um and we really want people to be able
719s to experience all aspects of the game so
722s starting with this release we're calling
724s the regular what we're referring to the
726s regular Expeditions as is a story mode
728s so they're going to get substantially
730s easier so folks that maybe felt
733s intimidated
734s um with joining an expedition you
736s shouldn't feel intimidated anymore you
738s go into that regular into the story mode
740s Expedition you can learn all the
742s mechanics and then they get pretty hard
745s after that Dave do you want to walk us
747s through the changes to the mutations
750s no it's mine now hi everybody
754s uh yeah so with that we also made
756s changes to mutations the the biggest
758s changes are one we've brought it down to
760s only three levels uh we did this because
762s one we wanted to make getting a group
765s and getting into a mutation just easier
766s and they'll be less you know areas you
768s have to do and also there was sort of
770s like a dead zone a lot of times in like
772s that mutation two through four level
774s there was a dead zone again in the
776s mid-range before you hit 10. so I think
778s you know this will help that we also did
781s some rebalancing while we did this right
782s so like M1 is now our our new what we're
786s calling like my first mutation you know
788s so like you shouldn't feel too
790s intimidated to do that once you finish
791s Elysian Wells uh you'll be roughly 650
795s gear score like you should feel
797s comfortable jumping right into the M1 no
799s Wards needed anymore like that should be
801s cool content uh and then on the other
803s hand we made M3 a little bit harder like
806s we wanted to push the boundaries and
807s make that challenging uh the way the
809s rewards work you know there was a lot of
811s incentives to do m10s we've we've really
815s adjusted that so like as long as you're
816s doing mutations you're going to get good
818s rewards it's you know you'll get them in
819s a slightly quicker Pace at M3 but it
821s isn't it isn't a huge huge deal
825s it's it's fun it's cool and just seeing
827s the story mode I mean I personally had
828s friends who were like yeah I tried but I
830s just couldn't get through Nash or some
831s of them were just hard and it's even if
833s you not even you can't get through them
834s for some people it's more it's just kind
836s of intimidating for some people to try
837s that kind of content they feel that out
840s of pressure so I think this is going to
842s expose it to more people and we still
844s have the mutations and I think with the
845s change to mutations
847s you're going to be able to Pile in them
848s a lot faster and run them a lot more I
850s think it's it's these are great changes
853s um all right so now let's talk about
855s that zone formerly known as first light
857s I'm sure you've been playing the game
859s and you see that it's blocked off and
860s you're not really sure what's going on
861s but you know it ain't good
863s um
864s it's now Elysian wild and I'm gonna let
866s Rosie take us we're going to start with
868s the story so why don't you take us
869s through the story
870s all right so Ariana is just furious
873s about the destruction of the motherwell
875s and this is her response she's taken
878s over first light it's a complete and
881s utter takeover we were going for all new
883s a totally new look so it should look
885s like it's completely taken over by
889s um
889s her it's the invasive and it's sort of
893s the expression of her power and her
895s anger and it sort of has an alien kind
898s of vibe but still within the new world
900s kind of look and feel
903s um it's grown over and and taken over
905s and as you progress through you'll also
909s encounter the Beast Lords which is
911s another you know important factor
913s yeah and I know uh David uh back there
917s who I'm going to give a second to get
918s the mic like
921s I remember early on when we were talking
923s about it just like the experience you
924s wanted to create when you go through the
927s gates of it to me like so like hey I'm
928s not in Kansas anymore like this is a new
930s like this is a new Zone you want to just
932s talk about that yeah yeah
933s um we really wanted to show something
936s unique and different
938s um that you have never seen in New World
940s before and so when you first enter the
942s Zone it's almost like you're entering a
944s dimension or a new portal
947s um the energy of the whole game changes
949s the look and feel the mood and Vibe
951s suddenly you're in um Ariana's garden
954s and you're the Invader
956s um and there's so many new and
959s interesting threats and Hazards uh
962s meeting the Beast Lords is another
964s really cool portion of the story
967s um and just seeing what has changed in
969s first light it's not a total redo we
971s sort of we wanted to tell the story of
973s this POI or this settlement what
976s happened to it when it was destroyed and
978s we took a lot of care in managing uh
982s Legacy stories from first light and
984s integrating it into this major event of
987s this apocalypse
989s um one of the things sorry to interrupt
991s like one of the things that I found
992s really cool when I was going through the
994s Zone was that there's still little
996s remnants of first light so it does look
1000s like when you go into it your
1002s expectation of seeing any part of first
1003s light is totally gone but then as you
1006s progress through that zone there's like
1007s little Easter eggs that have been left
1010s and you can see how invasive like you
1012s were saying Rosie how invasive it is I I
1014s love that that decision was made to like
1016s keep those little pieces of it to remind
1018s us that you know humans and other beasts
1021s were there before before Ariana took
1024s over yeah yeah even um even if you
1027s remember Sherry the cow even she has a
1029s place in the story
1031s um we took no we took no expense out of
1034s that's the phrase we're making sure that
1036s everything was was captured one thing I
1038s really enjoyed because I I don't
1040s remember all of the little details but I
1041s was playing through it the other day I
1043s saw that the big high stone bridge in
1046s Arkham like oh I know exactly where I am
1047s now in relation to the zone and that was
1049s like a just kind of a cool moment to
1051s where I'm like I
1053s I forgot I was in first light until I
1056s saw that and then I had this kind of
1057s pull me back yeah yeah
1060s um you know oh go ahead I was going to
1062s talk a little bit about the ecrs that
1064s we're introducing well let me let's let
1066s me just do one side track first um
1067s because another thing like right when
1069s you walk into the zone that really hit
1071s me
1072s and I know this was one of our one of
1074s our goals was to make like we didn't we
1075s wanted the AI to feel very different and
1077s right when you walk into the Zone like
1079s the first creatures you see it carries
1081s on there's so many new Ai and I was
1083s hoping that maybe Gwen could talk about
1084s some of that oh I would be happy to talk
1086s about that my favorite thing when I
1088s first went into the Elysian wild is
1091s first of all you're hit with the Zone
1092s itself it's so beautiful but things get
1095s so much more terrifying when you find
1097s yourself surrounded by armored dragons
1099s and mammoths and all these crazy new
1102s creatures It Feels So primordial and it
1107s just it's so heart pounding when you've
1110s got these big beastly creatures all over
1113s you so you get to fight all these new
1116s creatures we got the hercene family
1118s introduced for some new narrative and
1121s we're just getting started with all of
1122s them well it's not just the beasts and
1125s creatures right I mean like you run into
1126s the woods to hide and then a mushroom
1128s might attack you or like other things
1129s are alive that like holy cow this thing
1131s there's nowhere safe feared and don't
1133s forget we've got if you like just
1135s squishing the scorpions in Brimstone
1138s you're gonna love that with the Beatles
1141s that we've got in the Elysian Wilds I
1143s know I love squishing a beetle
1147s awesome
1149s um all right so David you started
1151s talking about ecrs so let's uh let's get
1153s back to that that's yeah yeah you had a
1155s lot of fun with some of these
1157s um to I do want to talk about those
1159s beetles though uh they're uh they also
1162s glow and they're fireflies and at night
1164s the entire Zone becomes this
1166s bioluminescent Wonderland as well
1169s um which I really love but the ecrs uh
1172s there's there's actually two major ones
1175s and then two sort of elite overlords
1178s that we introduced in Brimstone
1180s um the two big ones are very Beast
1183s themed this is where you'll meet some of
1186s the new creatures
1187s um and you will have access to new
1189s resources
1190s um
1191s there are now Apes in first light and
1194s one of the things you can pronounce
1196s first light oh sorry at least in Wilds
1198s okay
1199s um now you can um because of those now
1201s you can add we added bananas to a lot of
1204s the trees in the game so now that's a
1205s new resource there's lots of new stuff
1207s together as well but um the there's one
1211s ECR up in the north of Elysian wild it's
1214s called the Isle of zervan and uh this is
1217s just like a large open area designed for
1222s mounts in a way
1224s um you climb up this great like trial
1227s and challenge as a group there's
1229s multiple puzzles to get through and
1231s advance to the top
1233s um there's magical bridges that appear
1234s once you commune with the Beast Lords
1237s and receive their power you can activate
1239s them and let everyone in the ECR travel
1242s across together
1244s um there's a lot of cool surprises on
1245s them and there's two giant you know
1248s lions at the very top that can leap and
1251s go around the um the arena there it's
1254s really cool in the view from the top is
1256s phenomenal there's another one in the
1258s South called tribunal High Mound and
1260s that's another Beast themed uh ECR and
1264s that one is cool because you see a lot
1266s more variety of creatures that we don't
1269s have in the other so so you'll see
1270s lizards giant lizards you'll see um
1273s chameleons that can go invisible
1276s and if they die while they're invisible
1278s you still have to find their body to
1280s skin them which I think is a cool
1281s feature
1283s um but you'll dive into some ancient
1285s ruins and and you'll defeat a number of
1288s of things and you'll pop out right next
1290s to the uh Expedition entrance to Savage
1294s divide that's a really fun one before we
1296s segue to Savage divide though uh there's
1298s a new kind of
1300s gamish mode as well in the Elysian Wilds
1303s you want to talk about secret of the
1304s spores yeah so some of the new resources
1306s that we've added uh one of those are
1308s called Spore pods and these are
1312s uh seeds that uh Artemis has left
1316s throughout the zone of Elysian Wilds
1319s you'll have to meet a certain NPC in the
1322s first little town that you get to
1326s um he will guide you through the process
1328s of getting a bottle and
1330s then you will go around the zone and
1332s start putting things in the bottle and
1334s becoming a little potion maker and those
1336s potions will you can upgrade them
1338s throughout multiple tiers they're going
1341s to help you survive the Elysian Wilds do
1344s more damage get more loot things like
1346s that
1347s it's a unique element similar to sort of
1352s the sulfur and Sandstone Loop that we
1355s had in Brimstone but very
1356s nature themed and Gathering themed and
1359s it's really cool we also have a new
1360s Affliction you can get drenched by
1363s spores if you don't if you don't take
1366s care of walking around them and that
1367s will increase damage on You by 25 unless
1371s you have a potion on you which
1373s takes a lot of time and investment too I
1376s will say those numbers to upgrade that
1377s those numbers are temporary we're not
1378s sure yet oh yeah it may change before
1380s this comes out so don't be mad at David
1382s asterisk asterisk doesn't this being
1385s sport drenched also make like the
1387s critters the things that normally
1389s wouldn't aggro you like attack you
1391s that's a different mushroom there's a
1394s lot in this Zone
1396s um that's the rage miasma and that is a
1399s uh environmental hazard that will turn
1401s any nearby beasts
1403s um
1404s give them more damage and make them
1405s attack you uh and so if you want to take
1408s that out first then the encounter will
1410s be a lot easier so
1412s that's cool
1414s um and so you you touched on this so you
1416s go through that run and then you end up
1417s at the entrance to the Savage divide
1421s Rosie what's the Savage divide tell us
1424s about that and get that mic up there
1426s you hear me the Savage divide is really
1429s it's the culmination of the invasive
1432s growth uh it's a real showcase for all
1434s of our amazing beasts and Beast Lords
1437s and uh we kind of thought about it like
1440s uh thinking about the San Diego Zoo
1442s there's exhibits for all the different
1444s creatures but they're kind of mixed
1446s together so we took that kind of
1448s approach so that all of the areas within
1451s the Savage divide would feel different
1453s from each other players don't get lost
1455s and it's all unique and interesting and
1458s supports those uh Beast Lords and the
1462s elemental the elemental Beast Lords as
1464s well
1465s that is so cool Rosie you know what what
1467s blows my mind Gwen is we've gotten this
1469s far and we haven't talked about mammoths
1471s yet what how is that even possible what
1474s oh no I love the mammoth there's
1476s something really really satisfying like
1479s on a primal level about going out into
1481s the wild and taking down a big old
1484s Mammoth he's stumping around he's
1487s swinging at you and you just bring him
1489s down I would I'm really excited for
1493s everybody to get out there and hunt
1495s mammoths let's all go Mammoth hunting
1498s together
1500s okay you're selling past the clothes but
1502s keep going
1506s talking about
1511s talk about the squishing beetles again I
1513s love squishing The Beetles you've got
1516s you've got exploding Sprouts You've Got
1518s The Chameleons going and visible on you
1520s you've got armored dragons you've got
1523s the hercines you've got corvids flying
1526s up into the air it's raining feathers
1528s down on you for those of us that don't
1530s know what a core of it is why don't you
1532s just give me a little description like
1533s what what's because this sounds cool I
1535s like the name but I don't know what a
1536s core of it is the Corvette is a big old
1537s bird like you think about crows that's
1539s one of the Corvette family but our crows
1542s are a combination of humans and animals
1545s that have died somewhere close to each
1546s other and resurrected in a combination
1548s that's our hercing family you've got the
1551s birds you've got boars you've got
1554s reindeer all of these creatures that
1556s have come out from everything that's
1558s just gone crazy and wild with the
1561s Elysian wild you even have the rats
1563s right we've got and then and then you've
1566s got the bunnies with the bunny surprise
1568s is what I call them so we don't have to
1570s get into what the prizes but it's
1572s definitely a bunny surprise and I think
1575s like probably one of the coolest things
1577s from somebody you know who runs our
1579s Expeditions we always want to know about
1580s the bosses
1582s I think that these bosses have very cool
1584s and unique mechanics that players have
1586s not seen before there's mammoth in the
1589s Expedition too hello the biggest mammoth
1591s of all I think what you have to realize
1593s with our Savage divide is with
1596s everything that we've been doing in the
1599s enniad in Brimstone we've Unleashed a
1601s whole new level of magic into eternum so
1604s everything that you're seeing in the
1605s Expedition has gotten a lot more wild
1609s and crazy you've got everything is much
1611s more magical the bosses are bigger and
1614s better than ever probably our hardest
1616s Expedition bosses yet and they're
1619s throwing out all sorts of magic spells
1620s it's gonna be really fun so yeah all of
1623s the creatures all of this stuff
1625s culminates in a really cool reward
1627s J.R why don't you talk to us about the
1630s new heart Rune Primal Fury I'd be happy
1633s to uh yeah so this heart Rune is one of
1636s our most ambitious heart runs to date uh
1638s because it's not just a single attack
1640s like our other heart runs but it
1642s actually puts you in this other state so
1644s you're in this this beast-like state
1646s where you'll you you become larger and
1649s your your your uh your light attacks
1652s change to like these melee swipes and
1655s your heavy attack is this leaping strike
1657s that uh jumps on your opponent and
1659s knocks them down
1660s um and then and then the variants for it
1662s are also kind of interesting so like the
1664s brutal variant uh you will do more
1666s damage uh but the cost of taking more
1668s damage and actually as you damage your
1670s opponent it will extend the duration so
1672s you can you can get more more of your uh
1676s your your large form
1678s um and then the spell work version is
1681s kind of the inverse so you'll uh you'll
1683s deal less damage uh but you'll you'll
1686s also take less damage and you actually
1687s extend the duration by taking damage
1691s yeah it's kind of crazy making it bigger
1693s um foreign
1694s it's fun is to see it but I'm already
1696s waiting for some screenshots or some
1698s videos of people finding really weird
1700s places to do that and seeing what
1702s happens it's going to be yeah maybe a
1704s lot of fun so we we actually there were
1706s a lot of things that you could so
1708s because it's a state that like it's
1710s always active while you're in the State
1712s uh it definitely opened up the this
1715s whole other realm of like like I wanna I
1717s don't want to call them bugs because
1719s because actually they're more like
1721s Futures like they're they're interesting
1723s things that come from like you know like
1724s you can flip a table when you're in this
1727s state or and and there was actually like
1729s one thing that I I know it's not really
1731s like necessary but I wanted to include
1734s it which was uh you can open your
1736s inventory like while you're in this
1739s state and they're and you'll you can see
1741s yourself in Beast form and it's just
1744s kind of funny like but you know you
1745s might want to use your inventory while
1747s you're well you're uh raging out hey
1749s beasts do crazy things yeah
1753s cool well that's a lot of the stuff in
1755s the expansion I don't want to say it's
1756s everything because I might have forgot
1758s something and I don't want to you know
1759s miss anything but overall like we are so
1762s excited to get that expansion out and
1764s just let everyone play it and get some
1765s feedback and see what you think
1767s but there is more in this release
1769s because it is also a season so uh first
1772s thing is we have a new reward track I
1774s don't really want to go deep on that now
1776s but there is like we'll talk about that
1778s you know in the future
1780s um
1781s you know but we made this commitment to
1783s everyone that by the end of the year
1784s we'd finish msq
1786s and we're not finished it yet but we
1788s have the year's not over yet
1790s but we have made some pretty good
1792s progress you know now it takes you uh
1794s much further and I'm gonna let Carrie
1796s start us on
1797s tell us about that new story through
1799s great cleave
1800s all right so when last we met in the msq
1805s uh our updates were in Weaver's Fen and
1808s you basically learned about more gain
1811s and Galahad and what they were doing to
1813s sort of uncover what was going on with
1815s the corrupted and blight well in great
1818s cleave things take a little bit more of
1821s a personal turn as you helped Galahad
1824s and Jonas go in there to retake the zone
1827s so the corrupted have taken over great
1830s cleave and they've pushed south from the
1832s north uh down from Shattered Mountain
1835s and you're there to sort of win back the
1838s Zone with them so Jonas pushes on ahead
1841s you know against galahad's wishes going
1844s up to retake uh one of the first uh
1847s outposts that's there and you and Gala
1849s had realized that maybe Jonas got in
1852s over his head a bit so you have to go
1853s there rescue some you know uh younger
1857s Soul wardens who have also taken up the
1859s mantle and and meet up with Jonas and
1862s discover what exactly is going on and of
1865s course what's going on is Thorpe Thorpe
1868s is basically thrown in his lot with
1870s Isabella and he is all in for proving
1873s that he is the biggest baddest dude on
1875s the island so throughout the zone you
1878s are chasing behind Thorpe as he is one
1880s step ahead of you uh setting up fell
1884s portals just Gathering enemies mining
1887s collecting all these resources so that
1890s he can really help Isabella with her
1892s massive push to take over the zone
1896s you want does that take you into Eden
1898s Grove at all uh so after of course you
1902s kick Thorpe's ass because it's gonna
1904s happen he's gonna fall uh you go back
1907s and you uh Jonas gets injured and you
1912s know you didn't think this could be a
1913s thing but he's old he's been around a
1916s while and he needs your help so in going
1920s back to care done to to sort of like
1923s help Jonas recover and get the place
1927s protected because you want to make sure
1929s care done has you know support and
1932s barricades for in case anything fails
1935s that's when you find out that well
1938s there's been some interesting goings-on
1941s in Eden Grove
1942s So speaking of Eden Grove one thing we
1944s we you know we hate taking things away
1946s from players and we knew it was going to
1947s be a temporary we were more borrowing it
1949s but when we took the settlement out of
1952s first light
1953s we decided to you know
1955s put a new one in Eden Grove and that so
1957s Eden Grove now not only has a settlement
1959s but it's a ownable territory
1961s and there's cool reasons for that and
1963s story behind it and new architecture and
1964s stuff and I'm going to hand it off to
1965s Rosie to give you the details yeah we've
1968s got the all-new architecture set it's
1971s inspired by a northern more of a
1973s northern European look there's like
1975s these Huts
1977s um you're it's very large Interiors to
1979s go into and and with a beautiful view
1982s Eden Grove is also now going to be the
1984s Crown Jewel for any company that owns it
1986s because it will be worth the most
1988s um in terms of income
1991s that's kind of a big deal
1993s I like that we've also made some other
1996s changes to Eden Grove when we put the
1999s settlement in we wanted to move some
2000s things around and it was an interesting
2002s experiment we wanted to take and so
2004s David
2005s why don't you explain this one sure
2008s um so in Eden Grove you've got you know
2010s the settlement in the shadow of
2011s malevolence you've got the fort up north
2013s now but we took malevolence which was a
2016s in-game ECR and we converted it into a
2020s soloable experience we left a few Elite
2023s chests around there for the um the
2025s climbers in the in the player base and
2028s some of the some of the more
2030s jumping puzzle-like areas but we took
2033s the bosses and since they are favored by
2036s a lot of people from they get farmed for
2038s certain things we put them in their own
2040s little Arena somewhere in Eden Grove
2042s which you can look for
2044s um
2045s oh it's uh it's just south east of
2050s malevolence hey Scott I don't what you
2053s say I'm just gonna do it anyway
2055s uh it's somewhere in there
2058s I can't give you an exact coordinate but
2060s I can picture it

2063s um no it is it's close to Zagora
2065s metzgrove which is the trial
2068s it's awesome I think
2070s in like we're joking a lot but
2072s it's really interesting to try like like
2074s we have this beautiful content of
2076s malevolence and a lot of people ECR but
2078s some people like to play more solo and I
2079s think you guys did a great job of just
2081s making it
2083s taking out the things that were really
2085s neat and like you're not taking out
2086s leaving in the things that were really
2087s neat moving the things that the groups
2090s wanted somewhere else so they still have
2091s access to that but giving more players
2094s the ability to check out this content
2096s and we'll see how it goes you know like
2098s like this is the first time we've done
2099s this if it works we might look at other
2101s places if it doesn't we won't you know
2102s and I think that's kind of something
2104s that we've shown along the way that we
2105s like to like like try things see what
2107s people think and figure out do we do
2109s more of that or do we less of it so
2110s overall I think it's really cool
2112s um we have one more thing to talk about
2115s and I'm going to let Rachel fill us and
2117s we've talked a lot about like some of
2119s the influence changes we're making but
2121s we haven't got really specific so
2124s she's behind me Rachel yes go ahead and
2126s talk about that yeah uh I am so excited
2129s for influence me too so now every single
2132s day there will be influence races
2135s scheduled in three territories and
2137s during these influence races
2140s capture points will become available in
2143s that zone that you can go and capture
2145s with your faction your fighting other
2147s factions I think that a lot of us agree
2149s that open world PVP is maybe the most
2151s fun PVP so now you have all these you
2154s have three capture points plus the fort
2155s to go after they give you a trickle of
2158s influence and they also boost the amount
2160s of influence that you earn from missions
2162s we're updating the PVP missions to be a
2165s little bit closer to the towers or well
2167s we're calling them Towers but they're
2168s really watches or capture points around
2170s the the territory
2172s um but there'll be PVP missions will be
2174s a little closer in and so it'll be very
2178s well rewarded too so you get a lot of as
2180s I saw a lot of going towards your PVP
2182s rewards track during these 45 minutes of
2186s the influence race outside of the
2189s influence race one other thing that
2190s we're adding in is that a fort Locke so
2194s every time you capture a fort it will be
2196s locked for an hour there will be a timer
2198s on the map so you know when that 4 is is
2200s going to be ready to be unlocked again
2202s and you know when to go after it but
2204s also your faction now gets that
2206s guaranteed benefit for an hour from that
2207s fort
2209s I think it's pretty cool well go ahead
2211s Dave I was just going to ask so win or
2212s lose does a war happen now is there
2214s anything oh yeah good point sorry I
2216s didn't even say the most important thing
2217s about influence it's what obviously
2219s allows your company to go to war or your
2221s faction go to war against the other the
2223s owning faction at the end of every
2225s single influence race as long as a
2227s faction has earned influence and has
2229s earned the most influence during that
2230s race
2231s there is a war that territory does go
2234s into conflict and there's a war the next
2235s day
2237s and I think it's safe to say we're going
2238s to be watching really closely and we
2240s have a lot of like
2241s knobs dials we can turn based on how
2244s players use this and like we're going to
2246s be paying really close attention yes
2247s absolutely so lots of different things
2250s we can change while we watch all y'all
2253s play I'm excited to see all the twitch
2255s streams YouTube videos all of it
