33s my name is Patrick joining me today we
35s have Joel and Tony and we're here for
37s our third episode where we're going to
38s talk about the economy so this is our uh
41s 2024 Q2 quarterly economy update uh if
44s you guys are ready let's go ahead and
45s dive on into to you know the state of
47s the economy in New World so first things
49s first I want to start episode three how
51s we started episode two let's take a look
53s back to the last episode at some of the
55s hot button issues in the community that
57s we talked about and let's recap where we
59s landed with those um so the first one
62s last time we talked about how players
63s wanted more of a slot machine with
64s crafting and how uh chromatic seals in
66s particular were a bit of a gate for that
69s um with the random crafting so Tony uh
71s how did our changes there shake out what
73s ended up happening yeah so what we did
75s was we went ahead and removed the re the
77s requirement for chromatic seal on the
79s highend crafting and so now instead
81s reworked it a little bit uh we got some
83s matrices in there which then leans back
85s into the crafting cycles and Loops a
87s little bit more as well uh and it
89s allowed people to just make make as many
91s um Prismatic Scarab items aoth inductor
95s items and regular golden Scarab items
97s that they wanted to uh the you know the
101s what we saw from that in terms of an
102s impact in the economy was right after we
104s made the change we started seeing a nice
106s slight gradual lift for prices for
109s highend materials meaning that people
110s were sinking more of these things uh and
112s that was the intention uh when we went
114s into the expansion we had the chromatic
118s seals there because we wanted it to be a
120s player Choice am I going to craft this
122s high-end item am I going to use this
124s this chromatic seal that I can get per
125s day on uh rrolling a named item am I
128s going to use it you know uh in in one of
131s those aspects uh and it's been a while
133s since the uh expansion came out and so
136s we really wanted to kind of loosen those
138s uh restrictions up and it had a good
141s impact and it did what we wanted it to
142s do awesome yeah um cool so then the
144s second uh you know big impact topic we
147s covered was Ubi and General Coin
149s balances uh around episode two we were
151s still talking about how folks wanted
153s more coin in their pocket and more ways
154s to get coin um Joel we took some steps
157s to help correct that somewhat I think we
158s have more steps we need to take moving
160s forward but uh what do we change uh
162s since then so uh we added the uh golden
165s matter cache uh that's something that
167s was fairly successful though I think
169s that the uh total amount of players that
172s are getting it is lower than we'd like
173s and it's something we're assessing uh we
175s are seeing a median coin balance and
177s we'll talk about this later uh increase
179s throughout all of our player base uh
181s removing the seals is an extra cost that
183s was removed from some of the uh upgrades
186s that kind of helped in some ways as well
188s ough those items are still valuable um
191s uh we also had kind of a blunder early
193s on with season 5 where some of the the
195s replacement for juniper berry bags
197s didn't make into the game uh that should
199s be getting fixed in a patch I believe
200s today um so we're really monitoring the
204s health of the uh Ubi and the coin
208s balance that's going into the game right
210s now now uh it is increasing uh we have
213s mitigated though we are continuing to
214s work on it long term uh we do feel
217s there's more work to be done there uh
218s but players are absolutely at a positive
220s right now in general um I believe the
223s average right now median is 35k if I
225s haven't said that already um and we'll
227s go into that a little bit more later um
230s but we're continuing to make sure that
231s one we don't blow out inflation um and
234s that everyone's coin value is Meaningful
237s right again one thing we stress in all
238s of these videos is we want to make sure
240s that
240s all players all levels of players and
243s all um time Rich players and players
246s that only can play you know 30 minutes
247s here so on and so forth are meaningful
250s and impactful into the economy that they
252s can provide and gain money and engage
256s into the
258s economy all right so then the final top
260s we uh topic we covered was tier five
263s resource availability uh with the
264s intruction of t52 myth rolls outpacing
267s or Calum for example where did we land
270s there yeah so what we ended up doing
271s there was there was another handful of
274s nodes added to Mark uh of or Calcom not
277s mithil uh and that really kind of
279s increased the supply for or Calcom um
282s what that ended up doing uh was it
285s started to drive the price of or calcum
287s back down get it back under control um
290s and uh it also actually started to
292s slowly increase the value of mithil um
295s the increase on mithil was very small
298s I'm not going to sugarcoat it uh but the
300s decrease on orac Calcom was the main
301s goal there um and it's looking like it's
303s in a much better state so we need to
305s continue to monitor that uh obviously
307s hasn't been out for very long uh and
309s then figure out what we want to do next
311s to continue to try to get those to to
313s cross not only has it not been out very
315s very long but just something to add
316s there too is there's a lot of stockpile
318s of mithil that we have to make sure
320s before we do drastic changes we need to
322s make sure that we're burning some of
323s that stockpile out from players because
325s it will take time to course correct and
326s we will continue to analyze and
328s potentially do more actions but we know
330s there's a lot that exists and we need to
331s really remove that before we make any
333s drastic or sweeping changes yeah and I
335s know we've used this in the in the past
337s as well right iron hide was the last
338s time we had this and it was you know it
340s was a really big problem um people had
342s 30 40 50 60,000 of of stuff just sitting
345s in their storage and so we make a change
347s and we see a little bit of a change in
349s you know in what it's actually doing but
351s that's because everybody's blowing
352s through all of their uh all their all
355s their stores and we do have monitors we
357s can take a look at uh it's an item
359s imbalance to Tool uh and it will tell us
362s like are we net negative or positive in
365s terms of overall flow into the game are
366s people burning more of this than they're
368s getting or are they getting it and
369s storing it so those are things that we
371s can look at in terms of identifying how
374s an item is doing uh that isn't just tied
378s to what is its current coin value
380s awesome all right so want to go a little
383s uh unorthodox here so normally how these
385s episodes work we now move into the point
387s where we walk through the state of the
388s current economy today but we also got a
390s lot of awesome questions from you folks
392s on Reddit and Discord so I'm going to
394s start with one of those here first
396s question with this being a very
398s datadriven team are you able to share
400s what sort of metrics are used to monitor
402s the economy if you could also share some
404s of the some of the data it would be
405s really interesting so if you go back to
407s episodes one and two uh we talk
409s specifically about what uh what we look
411s at uh we look at things like the jny
413s index to monitor wealth disparity for
415s example we look at overall coin balances
417s we go uh pretty in depth in those
419s episodes
420s um we are here though is to share some
422s really relevant data from today so that
425s let's go ahead and dive on in a little
427s bit to where are we at right now uh how
429s are coin balances looking how is overall
432s economic health looking MH yeah right on
434s uh so what we can do is is we'll have a
437s uh one of the charts on the screen this
439s is our faucet and sync uh dashboard that
442s we take a look at and basically a a
444s faucet is uh income coming into the
447s economy and then a snc is where the
448s money leaves the player's hands
450s and doesn't go to another player so to
452s speak but just kind of goes off into the
454s uh into The Nether um the what you're
457s looking at right now the green bars
458s along the bottom indicates we're in a
460s faucet economy meaning there's more coin
462s coming in than what is going out uh and
464s then the darker the green uh bar is uh
467s the heavier the um uh the faucet is and
471s so when it gets to a lighter green bar
473s it means that there's a lighter faucet
474s and then the height of the bar is the
476s overall volume of of coin uh so what you
479s can see is there's a dramatic change on
482s the right side of the graph um that was
485s actually a Telemetry error to be honest
487s with you after season 5 went out we had
489s Telemetry go uh down for a short window
492s and then it came back and so that's why
493s on the top part of the chart you can see
495s that pinch that's when Telemetry got a
497s little wonky but what we're really
498s looking at here is after Telemetry uh
501s recovered um you can see that we're in
503s much less of a faucet uh than we were
505s before but we're still in a faucet and
507s that tells us that players are now
509s spending coin in C C places uh overall
512s uh there's more money coming into the
513s economy than there is leaving it like I
515s mentioned uh and the main reason why
518s there's more money going out than there
520s was before uh is from the faction Shop
522s people are going back in they're getting
523s more chromatic seals they're spending
524s more on aoth inductors there's new
526s artifacts that they need these resources
528s to chase down new named items came into
530s the game and so they're they're
531s re-engaging with those systems um and
534s again it's okay if it goes into a sync
535s economy for a little bit but right now
537s it's still in a in a faucet economy yeah
539s and one of the goals there being um we
541s don't want to run super heavy fait for
543s forever that's how you get rampid
545s inflation and your iron ore starts to
547s cost 100 coin and uh no one wants that
550s you we try to take very active steps
551s here to manage that make sure that you
553s aren't feeling the the pinch too hard on
555s your own wallet but overall
556s macroeconomic health remains positive
559s yeah yep exactly and then I guess it's
561s worth mentioning on the left side of
562s this chart you can actually see some of
564s the percentage breakdowns right and so
565s you've got uh your uh Expedition bosses
568s are coming in uh I think that says 28%
571s this is small in this laptop screen but
573s uh and then PVP is coming in at uh at
576s about 19% 20% uh and then those are all
578s broken down like some of it's from opr
580s some of it's from the reward track and
582s we just get a lot of visibility and like
583s where all the little bits and pieces are
585s coming from all right so let's move on
586s then um relevant to the current state of
588s the economy another question from a
589s player I am interested in knowing what
592s the dev team believes are the top three
593s issues regarding the economy so let's
596s dive in there a little bit um Joel start
598s with you I think one issue that we talk
600s a lot about for the for uh new world is
602s specifically the balance of uh faucets
604s and sinks for the game uh inflation is
606s always something that we're very very
608s hypercritical of and we want to make
609s sure that again I I said this earlier in
611s the video all players are able to engage
613s effectively in the economy so it's
615s something that we're we're really uh
617s basically analyzing every single week uh
619s in our syns uh we're talking about it
621s here today um but there's this feeling
625s that you know some players and again
626s we'll talk about this a little bit later
628s um aren't getting enough coin such as
630s PVP players to be able to participate in
632s the economy or vice versa we see on the
635s graphs here you'll see uh Expeditions
637s are giving really a lot of econ or a lot
639s of uh coin value to players so we're
642s always actively kind of tweaking and
644s tuning those things one to make sure we
646s keep inflation control and two to make
648s sure players feel like they're getting
649s value out of their time so that's
650s something that I think and I think we
652s all think is really really critical and
654s important uh for having a long-term
657s healthy uh and really fun economy me um
660s so that's something that is just a lot
663s of time spent making sure that are these
666s players feeling slided if we Nerf
667s something because we have to sometimes
670s but on the same side um are you actually
672s getting the value out of the activities
673s that you should be right uh so I think
676s that's just something that we'll always
677s be whacka we'll always be assessing and
679s auditing and making sure that we give uh
682s positive and valuable experiences to the
684s players but also not bloating the
686s economy and not making sure that we blow
687s things out and spoilers uh Expeditions
690s is something that we are looking at
691s right now though we don't have anything
692s to share immediately but there is an
695s area of improvement on our end there
697s yeah uh I think Expeditions is probably
699s going to be like number two on that list
700s um you touched on it a little bit right
702s now it's one of our major sources of
704s coin but the volume of coin uh like when
707s you look at the wealth disparity across
708s the group that's largely going to the
710s hyper engage extremely wealthy players
712s that's not so going to the you know the
713s 50% medium player down to the 1% so
716s we're taking looks at how we can
718s redistribute that wealth a little a
719s little bit such that you know
721s Expeditions are still very rewarding to
723s run but if you only have a couple hours
725s a day you're still making enough to keep
727s up with your consumable costs your resps
729s and other costs so um with that said you
732s know number three this is less directly
734s tied into I think you know actual
735s economic balance but I think it
737s tangentially ties into it um there's a
740s lot of content in our game that we
741s introduced early on things like open
743s world Arenas um and then closer to the
746s expansion the sandworm which this great
748s content in the game it's really fun to
749s run but it's not rewarding on a
751s day-to-day basis so we want to look at
753s how we can make that more relevant to
754s endgame players um nothing to share
757s specifically there but it's very much on
758s our radar uh why that's on our radar is
760s if that's more relevant to you as an
762s endgame player you might need to now go
764s spend more uh to buy consumables to run
767s this content to buy chromatic seals to
769s upgrade gear from that content things
771s like that and that ties very intently
773s into the overall economic health of the
775s game yeah so absolutely all right then
778s let's move on to the next question um
780s how about we break the war system
782s perhaps mix it with influence races and
784s allow players a chance to make some
786s money from PvP instead of War loggers
788s having a strangle hold on the entire
790s thing so I don't want to talk about
791s breaking the war system uh this is an
793s economy sync not the war cabinet uh
795s video but what is important here I think
798s is the PVP bit so you know Tony um Can
801s PVP players make money is that in a good
803s State yeah so right now PVP accounts for
806s just about a fifth of all wealth in the
808s game in terms of the f side boards
810s coming in uh with season 5 we made some
812s pretty significant changes to the PVP
814s reward track uh and just kind of rewards
816s in general um and we did push uh the
819s coin generation is definitely more on
821s the opr side right now uh so opr is is
824s the main focal point in PvP for getting
826s coin um and again it is about a fifth of
829s all coin that is generated uh as you
831s made a mention uh before right now
833s Expedition bosses are probably a bit on
835s the heavy side and so as we try to
837s retool some of that stuff I wouldn't be
839s shocked if the amount of coin generated
842s in terms of overall percentage from PvP
845s actually starts to grow a bit because
847s other things may be a little too strong
848s right now uh but just in general um PVP
852s players do have options to make good
853s money uh in the game uh especially uh
856s looking at at some of these charts yeah
858s there there's one other comment in there
859s and that's War loggers having a strangle
861s hold on the entire thing I think this is
863s a bit of a common sentiment that war
865s loggers are making all this money and
867s sitting on millions and millions of coin
868s per person when the reality is a lot of
870s the territories uh are kind of barely
872s breaking even at this point with upkeep
874s costs and such so um all that to say
878s like pvpers have a good Avenue to make
880s money and that money is I think a little
881s more spread than players might realize
883s between the different cohorts there yeah
885s yeah I think one of the things and and
887s that would be worth possibly looking
890s into is obviously we can see that
893s there's there's coin coming in uh is
895s there something else that makes it feel
897s like there's not a lot of coin coming in
898s is there an tional uh disconnect almost
901s is there some sort of uh problem with
904s like in like the uh I don't want to say
906s the journey but if the coin is actually
908s coming in but it doesn't feel like it
910s then is it coming in in too small of
911s bits so you never really notice it
913s should it come in in like big splashes
915s and then so you're like oh that was a
917s lot I got a lot of coin out of that so
918s it can definitely be um one of those
922s those as well also what Patrick said
924s earlier is making sure that we're
925s keeping up on upkeep costs if you're
926s respecing if you're using consumables we
928s want to make sure
930s can AFF those things right like that is
932s definitely a big motivator of us
934s auditing that side of the economy yeah
936s all right uh next question have you
938s considered reducing or removing some of
940s the materials dropped by aptitude
943s boxes yeah so we've taken a look at the
945s uh uh aptitude boxes uh we really do
948s want them to feel like they're a big pop
950s we like those uh uh rewards there were
952s some issues like say uh there was too
954s much mithil in some of them so we've
956s added or calcum in there to kind of make
957s it feel a little bit better uh we're not
959s really looking at removing things we're
961s always looking at making them feel
963s better but we do want them to feel
964s really special um they are something
966s that takes a good amount of time to get
968s in most cases uh so there might be some
971s things in some of the aptitude chest
972s that we're looking at in making sure
974s that they feel uh like they are a
977s special thing to earn uh most of them do
979s that very well I know in the past we had
980s some with cooking some issues with
982s cooking to where they were really easy
983s to get really fast uh we're always
985s making sure that these things feel
986s special and rewarding but that they are
988s a bit of a Time to actually earn those
990s things right there's a bit of prestige
992s there um I think if anything we'd
994s probably look at how to improve those
996s further how do we improve those rewards
997s and make them again feel like that big
998s pop or Splash that we always want for
1001s those uh this is a fun one any reason
1004s for seals being Tim gated still so I'll
1006s go ahead and take this one uh I think
1008s when you look at different player
1009s cohorts time is one of the you know kind
1011s of great equalizers there are 24 hours
1013s in a day uh no matter how much time you
1016s invest in this or something else like we
1017s all only have that 24 hours so it's a
1020s great way to level the playing field
1022s somewhat between the super hardcore and
1024s the more casual folks who want to hop in
1027s uh to some of that content um with that
1030s said no there's no changes to remove the
1032s time gate right now but I think we are
1034s looking into additional ways to earn
1036s chromatic seals from some of our hardest
1038s content I think we'll talk about more of
1039s that in the future but I think it's a
1042s fairly safe assumption that future
1043s content will give you uh seals as an
1046s additional reward so players can get
1047s their hands on more of them
1050s um I appreciate the addition of Ora
1052s Calcom or in merard with the season five
1055s can we expect additional nodes for other
1057s resources yeah so right now we don't
1060s have any other nodes planned uh in the
1062s near future the big thing with like big
1064s changes like this is and we were just
1066s speaking of this not too long ago we
1068s need to see what the impact is of the
1070s change let it ride for a little bit see
1072s what happens to value and prices and
1075s Supply uh and then kind of go from there
1078s uh I wouldn't be shocked if there is a
1079s world where future us is looking at this
1081s and being like cool we need to add more
1083s Ironwood or whatever it may be uh but as
1085s it sits right now uh we do want to just
1087s let some time sit to you know it's only
1089s been two weeks I think um to let that
1093s kind of sit see how it does and and then
1094s make it more of an educated decision
1096s going
1097s forward uh next question I strongly
1100s believe that the combination of removing
1102s resilient and Ward and upgrading named
1104s items at the Kiln was a devastating for
1106s the economy due to vastly reduced demand
1109s is this a case of giving players what
1111s they asked for but it turning out to be
1112s a bad thing for the economy uh Joel
1115s what's your take here yeah um so this is
1117s a really tough question um because uh we
1121s want to make the game fun right and uh
1123s my personal opinion resilience and Wards
1125s are really good for Crafters which is a
1127s portion of our player base but it is a
1129s small portion of our player base uh and
1131s those are very important players we want
1133s to make sure we cater to those players
1135s um they made for really good experiences
1137s with crafting getting a bunch of RNG
1139s crafting that perfect set times six or
1141s or seven are like you know all the
1143s different things that you wanted the
1144s different families the different Wards
1146s um the problem that we have there is
1148s it's just not a fun experience just
1150s getting flat stats it doesn't really
1152s feel like it changes the game play it's
1154s just this bar of can I beat this do I
1156s have the right gear yes or no is it
1158s easier are you getting kicked out of
1160s groups because you don't have the right
1161s gear because you can't actually survive
1163s x amount of hits right like that's just
1165s not fun gameplay so I'd rather see us
1167s build more towards uh more variation in
1171s perks and other things to want you to
1173s encourage you to have and build
1175s different sets that are fun for you and
1177s change how you play in those instances
1179s rather than a very numerical bar of can
1181s I do this or not so ultimately to boil
1183s it down I think that yes it hurt the
1186s economy because there's less things
1187s being crafted there's less things that
1189s players want but I think the quality of
1192s life gain there is just so massive of
1194s not having to feel like I need to
1195s collect these things not because they're
1197s fun but they're almost a requirement and
1199s I I just don't think that's good gamep
1200s playay check box gameplay yeah yeah I
1202s agree like it it gives you an illusion
1204s of choice of oh I have all these perks I
1206s can choose from but not really because
1207s if I'm running Tempest heart I have to
1209s have corrupted Ward that's not a choice
1211s so um just want to completely Echo that
1213s I think massive quality of life
1215s Improvement there uh next one diving
1217s back into the data a bit excluding
1219s players that did not yet complete the
1221s msq how much gold does the average New
1223s World Player have so let's look at you
1225s know max level 65 player how much goal
1227s do they have yeah so that's we'll throw
1229s a chart up on the screen uh this is the
1231s jny index uh screen that we've talked
1233s about uh in the past uh and then at the
1235s bottom you can see I'm basically
1236s hovering over our median and right now
1239s uh our median is right below 36,000 gold
1243s um coin if you will uh that players hold
1246s in in their balance so that's going to
1248s be your median and obviously the green
1250s bar at the top is much higher because
1252s that's going to be your P90 or your top
1253s 10% of players and I believe the yellow
1255s bar is your 75 percentile um which is in
1259s in between the two but this from
1261s expansion has almost doubled uh and so
1264s we are seeing a very slow and and and
1267s continual gradual increase in in coin
1269s balances uh across the board yep yeah um
1273s really quick just to add to that as well
1275s uh it's one of those things that we were
1276s hitting earlier in the video but we want
1278s to make sure that all of those are going
1280s up together we don't want the top
1282s percentile to get too far ahead because
1283s again we're always looking at inflation
1285s so it kind of goes back to one of those
1286s things we as a group are really anal in
1289s making sure everyone has an impact on
1292s the economy not just those top 1centers
1294s 25ers it's incredibly critical that
1297s we're always trying
1298s to maintain that Gap we there will be a
1301s gap there will be time range players
1302s that will be ahead there will be those
1304s uh marketeers that really control the
1306s market in some cases that's okay we just
1308s need to make sure that that Gap doesn't
1310s just completely blow out from the top to
1312s the bottom sure
1314s exactly um all right next up is my
1316s favorite question of the bunch why is

1345s wait what are you serious and I took a
1348s look at it and I was like how did that
1349s even happen so uh it's been changed and
1352s uh it'll be in a future update uh for
1354s you in the in the future breaking news
1357s flow can be used to make bread um all
1361s right I don't know how that got missed
1362s but stuff happens next question though
1365s can we get a breakdown on how much money
1367s has left the economy since the
1368s introduction of seals and
1370s inductors yeah we absolutely can uh some
1373s more nerd graphs for you uh we'll throw
1375s another one on the on the screen this is
1376s from our faction uh faction shop
1379s dashboard this is the amount of coins
1381s spent uh the top Gray Line is basically
1385s the total uh and then right below that
1387s you've got the amount of coin and
1388s chromatic seals and below that all the
1390s spikes every single week which is kind
1392s of cool to see uh would be aoth
1394s inductors uh so by looking at this
1396s you're looking at anywhere from 25 to 30
1398s million uh coin per day uh from Seals
1401s and then another about 10 million on
1403s Tuesdays uh for aoth inductors with a 5
1406s million burn on a normal day uh the
1409s coins and seals are by far our biggest
1411s faucet um and people really have engaged
1415s in that product uh and makes us very
1417s happy great uh next one quick one do you
1421s have any plans to make consumables
1423s infinite in oppr and or adjust mat
1425s availability so prices of these PVP
1427s consumables are more affordable
1429s especially the ones we consume every
1431s minute or so in PvP serums regen and
1433s absorption pots short answer here is no
1436s not right now um oppr is one of our
1438s awesome some syncs for resources as well
1440s so we talk about syns and fets for coin
1442s uh we have the same sort of mentality
1444s for resources we want to make sure that
1446s those are leaving the economies there's
1447s demand for new ones to enter um and we
1450s don't have plans to change that in the
1451s short term we do want to make sure that
1453s it's not a burden on players right that
1455s is something that we're always looking
1456s at yeah and you you actually said that
1457s earlier as well right there can be 20%
1460s of our income coming in through PVP but
1461s if it costs you 18% to fund yourself
1463s through PVP well then it's not it's not
1466s that and so we'll keep an eye on that
1467s and make sure that it's not wickedly
1469s offset awesome uh last question for
1472s today players have always uh players
1474s always ask for better rewards but does
1476s giving better rewards hurt the economy
1478s because a player has less things to
1480s trade for Joel start with you on this
1481s one fun um so I think that uh everyone
1486s always wants to feel like their time is
1489s valued when they're playing the game
1490s right any game really like uh I am being
1492s respected by what I'm doing and my time
1494s is not being wasted so there's a really
1496s big balance and trade-off here uh I mean
1498s there's no yes or no for this it's very
1501s gray right um I want to make sure that
1503s my time is feeling is being valued but I
1505s don't want to just get everything for
1507s free right if you just gave everybody
1509s the best gear then there's a lot less
1511s reason to go out and kind of seek out
1512s and do some of the content uh with that
1514s being said I don't want to spend a 100
1515s hours to grind one item uh only to find
1519s out that RNG didn't give me that item
1521s and we've had some of that in the past
1522s we try and put pity tickers in I know we
1523s did that recently with the artifacts uh
1526s we're always looking at improving those
1527s experiences but I think that there is a
1530s balance to be met that we will
1531s continually try and work towards um but
1534s just giving everybody everything for
1536s free takes a lot of the wind out of
1537s those sales and makes it so uh you're
1539s not as motivated to do some content
1542s right now that's always saying we can
1544s always look towards improving the
1545s content there are some of those things
1546s but we're talking at it as a is this fun
1550s right and I think that rewards are a big
1551s driver for those things I think that
1553s it's important that I have something to
1555s chase uh as long as it's respecting my
1557s time I think is a big important caveat
1560s yeah and this is there's a balance right
1562s because then there's the other side of
1564s it if it was just all trade then now
1567s your progression is just going to the
1569s trade poost and just buying a thing and
1571s there can be arguments of like oh yeah
1573s well the adventure was to earn enough
1574s coin to go buy the thing which is fine
1576s but there is you don't get that pop you
1578s don't get that good feeling like oh dude
1581s you see the the you know the orange bag
1583s glowing on the floor and you're like o
1585s piece of candy what is it what you know
1586s what just dropped uh and I think that's
1588s really really important so um as we
1591s continue to you know look at how trade
1594s skills are going to change and we
1595s continue to figure out what else can we
1597s do with things like loot biasing to make
1598s sure that loot is more uh appropriate
1600s for whatever the player is doing at the
1602s time uh it will always be a balance of
1604s back and forth uh for sure and we'll
1606s always be auditing looking for
1607s improvements we'll be looking for that
1609s that perfect uh Edge Lord sweat Lord
1612s ratio of getting loot right dude that is
1614s correct yeah getting closer all right uh
1617s anything we didn't cover today guys is
1619s that about it I think we hit just about
1622s everything that we wanted to um going
1624s through the sheets and all in all as it
1626s sits right now I guess a high level
1628s recap uh economy seems to be in a pretty
1630s decent place um it is definitely on the
1632s faucet side which is typically where
1634s players are the happiest because they
1635s feel like they have a decent amount of
1636s coin coming in uh I don't see any wicked
1639s drastic changes to that anytime soon uh
1641s but we do want to just make sure it
1643s doesn't get too far out of control so an
1645s iron ingot does not cost you 100 coin to
1648s pick up from
