18s today and we're going to talk about
19s Wards and veins
21s we're getting rid of them show over see

25s just kidding um but we are removing
27s words and Bane do you want to talk about
28s that a little Dave yeah I think you know
30s high level we want people to be able to
33s enjoy our gear system and really go for
36s aspirational perks and perks that change
38s their build whereas this felt a little
40s bit too much like a chore right like I
41s had to get these to be competitive in
43s certain modes like mutations or I had to
45s get resilient to be competitive in PvP
47s and I think we want to sort of like
49s reduce the amount of required perks and
52s instead let people sort of experiment
53s and try around with perks but what what
55s stinks is I worked really hard to get
57s all these corrupted wards
59s you're just gonna take him away from me
73s any gear you acquire in the future above
75s gear score 625 will not have War
78s dropping will not have resistance
80s dropping will not have resilient
81s dropping so then you you're gonna get is
83s going to be a lot more exciting because
84s there's going to be more viable perks on
86s it and less perks that you don't really
88s want to see on your gear so

101s think that's an important thing right
102s like there's a couple perks we just
104s thought hey these are never going to be
105s viable like people will never want this
107s in gear and I think those are now
109s disappearing so that you don't get that
111s disappointment of getting a cool piece
113s of gear with it you know it's worth
114s mentioning at one point they made sense
116s when we were thinking about gear
118s differently you know a couple years ago
119s but the games evolved we listened to the
121s players we're pushing in different
122s directions and it becomes less less a
124s thing
126s so what else you want to talk about
127s Patrick uh so along with removing Ward
130s resilient and other perks we're doing
131s that's a broad perk rebalance so there's
134s a number of perks you're not going to
135s see on that gear that is below gear
136s score or above gear score 625 in the
138s future so we already talked about the
140s wards and the resilience other perks
142s will be going away some of the
143s underperforming perks that we like but
145s aren't really often selected by the
147s community are going to be rebalanced to
148s be more attractive choices so I'm very
150s excited about that then we're also going
152s to be adjusting some of the currently
153s over performing uh perks so things like
155s a tune mint might see their cooldown
157s increase slightly so across the board
160s though we're trying to make sure that
161s the perks are finding that nice
162s equilibrium where any perk is viable in
164s the game in the game
165s uh one other thing that I think is worth
167s mentioning as we remove certain perks
169s from the game we're also going to be
170s adding some new perks to make more room
172s especially on Armor right where we
174s remove all the wards Patrick yeah that's
175s correct so we're adding a few new perks
177s with this perk rebalance so for example
179s uh touching on weapons specifically uh
182s there's only there's only really been
183s one good healing perk and that's blessed
185s we're adding a lot more healing perks
187s that are conditional so they add bonus
189s healing but based in certain conditions
190s so you might want to run a certain staff
192s for a boss that might be very uh damage
194s over time heavy things like that so
196s we're trying to make sure that there's
198s different gear for different situations
199s and it's all exciting and valuable to
200s players
202s and you know as part of the compensation
204s for this we're talking about uh
206s modifying how Warren potions work right
208s yeah so one of the things we do like
210s this idea of a little bit of a prep root
212s prep Loop sorry for uh Expeditions or
215s various you know sort of higher level
216s content so making the ward potions which
219s are currently sort of like you know used
221s for specific battles making them last
223s the whole Expedition right so like you
225s go in prep with a potion so it's much
227s lighter weight but it still gives you a
228s little bit of that prep and and bolsters
230s the economy which I kind of like that
231s because it makes it
233s it gives us the ability to put more
236s enemy types in an expedition and not
239s feeling like oh my God I have to change
240s my gear as opposed to just taking a new
242s potion it's a little easier you know to
243s get through that a couple things more on
245s maybe the the nerdy side are people that
248s are really into this stuff yeah I think
250s on the attribute stuff one of the things
251s we do right now is that the attributes
253s are asymmetric right so you know there's
255s ones where strength is more than decks
257s and then Dex is more than strength we're
258s going to change that so that they're now
260s uh equal right so that it's an equal
263s split and I think that will uh I think
265s be easier for players to understand
266s reduce some of the drop types and things
268s like that so I think that'll be pretty
269s interesting Patrick is any of this going
272s to have an effect on your inventory uh
273s it will so there's a lot of perk mods
275s right now for crafting certain attribute
277s bonuses that will be going away uh the
279s aim there is the Streamline crafting and
280s also make you manage far fewer perk mods
283s if you look in my inventory right now
284s I've probably got a couple hundred brick
286s mods just sitting there the goal there
288s is to reduce that number significantly
289s so you're crafting things that are more
290s meaningful
291s I'm with you on that that's uh there's
293s so many as hard to even get through them
295s all when you're looking for some yeah so
297s overall I think this is going to be a
299s pretty massive change to the game and
301s have a have a big impact um I'm pretty
304s excited about it but before is there
305s anything else either if you want to add
307s no I think I think this is going to be a
309s really nice change and I think you know
311s Katie mentioned in our q a like what's
313s nice about this is it was really spurred
315s by a lot of customer sentiment right
317s like I think players have been talking
319s about how annoying Banes can be
321s especially when we had a couple
323s Expeditions that had multiple uh family
325s types that's what really brought us to
326s the Forefront and I think you know while
328s we were looking at that we you know we
330s made some changes in Imperium Forge to
332s to require only one set but at the same
336s time while we were doing that we're like
337s what is really the value of this and
338s like our players enjoying it and it made
340s us take a hard look at it you know
341s there's just one more thing I thought of
343s in the middle of this conversation that
344s we can mention is uh
345s it's also going to allow us to to
347s balance the Expeditions and the
350s mutations more toward a common thing and
353s not assume people have these words or
355s don't have them it's gonna well so I
356s think that's going to create different
358s builds coming in that are going to make
360s the gameplay more interesting and more
361s varied and hopefully a little less of a
363s link dear before I let you in my group I
366s think that's another Big Goal here yeah
368s I think if you're you know if if the
369s perks are much more
372s strong Forex for expeditions then it's
375s going to be your gear scores speaks
376s volumes and then it's your play style is
378s going to be the differentiator that's
379s exactly right right like in a
381s theoretical world like we're never going
382s to hit this perfect the first time but
384s where every perk is just as viable as
385s every other it doesn't matter exactly
388s which perks you have just that you have
389s you know the gear square and if you like
391s to play a certain way you're going to
392s have Perks that support that versus
393s someone else I think that'll be in
394s that's the dream space we'll see like
