Hi all –

Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback on your thoughts regarding the planned merger of the Eridu world into Delos. Our goal – and the purpose – of world merges is to enhance the gameplay experience of players on low-population worlds by providing impacted players with an active community to engage with when world populations shift. As mentioned prior by some folks, it can be hard to play large swaths of content (War, OPR, Expeditions, Arenas, etc.) if you have trouble getting like-minded folks together for activities. And while some folks prefer smaller tight-knit communities, it can be a bad representation of the game for newbies or other folks who aren’t aware of the minute details of what may or may not be readily accessible because of a low population world. So you can see, from our perspective, this is a scenario which we’d like to avoid for everyone’s benefit.

Nonetheless, that said, I do admit looking strictly at the numbers can allow us to miss valuable in-game context that isn’t so apparent… such as the benefits nicely presented here that allow for easier crafting and gathering, avoidance of most large company drama, etc. And while Eridu isn’t fully above these experiences (whether brought on from within the community or through transfers), these are valid points I can get behind. I acknowledge that removing Eridu will bring our Asia Pacific region to 1 Legacy world and that would significantly limit the community options available to players, and therefore in doing so could cause the swing of the pendulum back in the other direction for War and other systems. Not to mention the diminished efforts of having built a unique and positive in-world culture. So given this unique situation, and the fact that Eridu currently does maintain a fair distribution of territories (I checked!), I have decided to call off this scheduled merge.

We will not move forward with merging Eridu into Delos at this time.

That said, however… we will continue to closely monitor Eridu’s overall health through a variety of Key Performance Indicators and if it appears that the world can truly no longer reasonably sustain itself we will again consider another merge. A reasonable arrangement, yes?

I understand that this reversal will also disappoint another subset of the Eridu community, but for now, erring on the side of providing more options of worlds is likely the better route at this time. Individual world transfers remain available for those who’d like to continue their journey to Delos meanwhile.

Kindly. :grinning:
