100% of the models that have been graphically updated would look better if they were reverted.
Why even refer to the elf quest series as "iconic, all the way back from 2004" if you're going to then completely change the look and feel of the entire thing.
Graphical team resources should be devoted to studying the art style of the original game assets, to make the entirely new content that DOES get added align as closely as possible with the rest of the game stylistically. If your art is going to slot into an existing context, it needs to match that context.
NO WHERE in any poll has "should we graphically update X?" ever appeared. Stop graphically updating stuff without polls.
It straight up does not look good and makes the game feel worse to play.
I feel like there's this "update/productivity culture" of loading devs with completely unnecessary tasks, like graphical reworks that will definitely look worse, just to justify their existence to shareholders or whatever, and it's gotta stop. Part of their job should simply be to know what would look best in-game and make good aesthetic decisions.
Let the art team do what looks good, and also let them NOT DO, when THAT looks good.
