So... SOMEHOW... I accidentally bought bonds for Runescape. The new one, Runescape 3, or whatever you call it. For some reason, I guess the "Check Out" page for Runescape 3 and OSRS are exactly the same - because as numerous mods have stated to me, this happens a lot. I could have sworn I double and triple checked yet somehow my 3 bonds, $22, ended up going to RS3.

While I played Runescape back in the day, I have just got back into it by downloading it on my phone. Why? I don't own a computer. I do own a Chromebook, but it is unable to run Runescape at all. So I can't play Runescape, only OSRS.

The only "solution" that support has reiterated to me over and over again is for me to login to a game that I can't play, in order to put bonds in a pouch on RS3. It must be their standard operating procedure to tell unlucky folks like myself to borrow a friends computer or "go to the local library to play Runescape", otherwise they can't transfer the bonds over to OSRS.

So I asked for a refund. They can only offer me a refund if I log into my RS3 account. Oh, what a mess!

So I said no problem, I will simply chargeback my $22 since you:

1) Cannot offer me a refund

2) Cannot transfer the bonds for me

But lo and behold, of course, they said they would freeze my OSRS account if I were to chargeback this purchase for a separate game. A game that is played on the computer while this one is on mobile.

Now look. I live in the middle of god damn nowhere. I can't get easy access to another computer. And it was an honest mistake that I can't imagine how I made, but the websites look so similar. But why is there no policy in place to offer a refund or make it right?

Honestly, I was looking forward to OSRS. I started playing this month, paid for a one month membership, purchased more in bonds than I should have, and then this happened. It's left a sour taste in my mouth for the past few days, and it frustrates me every time I play the game knowing that I have 3 bonds on RS3 that I will never be able to touch. I've cancelled my membership and all there is left to do now is let the time run out.

I know it's not ideal you've had to resort to posting here on Reddit, but I've pinged a message over to the support team to see if there's anything further that can be done for you here.
