How long does the team expect the refinement stage to last for sailing? I know it’s ultimately up to the community to decide, but what are your expectations?
I was out of office the past few days but the team has made a plan of how we're going to handle refinement and I'm back now just catching up! We'll be releasing a blog soon (aiming for this week) that explains what general topics we'll be discussing each week, and a rough timeline of how it will look like over the next 1-2 months. It is largely dependent on so many factors including the community so it's very ballpark for now but we'll share more news ASAP.
How long does it take you to make these transcripts ? Thanks for your work !
We have a wonderful outsourced CM team handling this for now and it'll typically take 2 working days to create these. It's important to ensure we do as good of a job as possible to sanity check it for the developers as we don't want to misrepresent anyone. Sometimes mistakes are made but hopefully these help to increase access to information for those who may not be able to tune into our livestreams. Thanks!
During the stream, the team was unsure about the possible scope of sailing / what could or couldn't be done, or what the skill might involve - and mentioned that this would all be discussed during a 'big meeting' the day after the Q&A.
Out of curiosity, why would you schedule this Q&A before rather than after the meeting? Wouldn't conducting the stream afterwards place the team in a better position to answer/discuss some of the questions that came up?
It’s important to maintain a somewhat regular schedule of livestreams so players can at least expect them to happen on a weekly basis. Unfortunately it wasn’t possible to schedule the meeting any sooner (it was an on-site). OSRS livestreams are typically on Mondays or Thursdays so the logistics didn’t work out unfortunately. It won’t be the last stream on this topic so I’m sure we will be talking about it soon. Also, we share our livestream resource with RS3, so we have set days that we go live, and it’s possible to switch those days but we tend to prefer not to if possible.
