I had my third wipe on the same character 23 days ago right after that day's patch hit:

Asking for information I had already provided or asking me to delete the game, install a random demo, and install Outriders again. Of course this didn't fix sh*t.

Support also impossibly wanted me to restore my backup savegames for a game that does not have local saves.

Only after multiple e-mails support informed me that they are 'investigating now.'

Since then silence. For weeks. I had tagged u/thearcan multiple times to no avail while more people kept reporting this wipe.

Till today. u/thearcan finally replied to one of my posts and asked for my ticket number:

I finally received a support reply that you can see in the imgur link.

They wanted me to name my wiped mods (I had informed them multiple times that I had all but one or two mods for category I and II and three or four for category III). This was ridiculous because without screenshot how would I know all the names and - more importantly - when mods are locked, hovering over them doesn't even display the names.

I still went into the game to see what info I might be able to provide. And lo and behold...

  • All my mods were still locked, all shards still at 0

BUT

  • All my resources had been set to 999.999
  • I had been showered in god rolled legendary items that I had never acquired before

Now you might say: Great, you can finally enjoy the game!

This report is 8 hours old. Exactly the same wiping bug.

My character had been wiped during release weekend. Then again the week after with the wipe that also led to character corruption. It took PFC about a month to restore characters back then. This 3rd wipe took them more than 3 weeks for this partial kind of restoration.

Out of 4 months since release my character was basically in bug limbo for 2 months.

And why would I play now with the next wipe just right around the corner?

This game, PFC, and SE support have been one big sh*t show.

TL;DR

After my third wipe SE support didn't restore my unlocked mods but instead set all resources to 999.999 and showered me in legendaries. But people.as of today are still reporting this wiping bug.

The amount of legendaries were granted so that you could re-obtain your lost mods by dismantling your legendaries for them. I don't believe we have the backend tools to restore specific mods yet, so this is what the team is able to do in the meantime.

I can see you're annoyed that I haven't personally responded to you sooner.

I currently have over 419 chat notifications and 680 reply/username unread mentions on Reddit. I probably have 500 unreads on Discord and another 1500 on Steam. I try to stay on top of things, but the sheer volume of discussions coming through can make keeping up with individual cases almost impossible. Please do not take offence that I didn't take notice earlier.

That's why I always recommend going to the support team with these specific account related matters, as they are the only team who are able to access your account. I am not. The support team should have dealt with your case a bit better in the beginning, but with these situations, the fewer people encounter such problems, the less likely it is that we have encountered something previously and have a direct and specific solution to hand. As explained previously, we can't restore mods at this point in time, so I worked with the support team to come up with an alternative, which was to give you the Legendaries that carry the mods.

Personally, I also need to prioritize my time to deal with issues that affect the greatest amount of players across the board. These wipes are an important issue, but compared to the overall player count, they are still happening very rarely.

Our teams are also already investigating the matter and have been for some time, but without a clear trigger, it is very difficult to replicate the issue on our side. If the issue were more widespread, we could identify a pattern much quicker and thus fix it. For now, given the low volume of people encountering it, information is very scarce.

I'll see if I can include this issue into our dev updates post in future, but the dev updates have never been a conclusive list of all things we're working on. Furthermore, I have acknowledged this issue and asked affected players to contact support in every thread that I've come across.

Note 2: “Investigated” means that we have been able to successfully reproduce an issue on our dev environment and are currently looking at the root causes of said issue. I can see that you are annoyed when a customer of the community you are a manager of tags you continously because the support team that you suggest is not only utterly incapable of doing their job (not only with Outriders but also with something like Avengers btw) but also takes endless amounts of time to address problems. This is the third wiping bug PFC introduced (4th of you count the demo).

"I am so busy and have to prioritize" doesn't cut it. This is a - presumably - full price AAA game that I havent been able to play basically half of the time since release.

What is the intention of your post here?

I am supposed not to tag you when my character gets stuck in wiping limbo and support doesn't do anything?

May I remind you that support ignored me for literally more than 3 weeks before you finally asked for my ticket number and they finally could magically solve the problem in an instant...

And SE support ignoring people for weeks is the standard experience you can read about here.

So again: what is your intention here?

When I get wiped again or whatever happens and support ignores me for more than 3 weeks (even though they could solve the problem instantly when contacted by the community manager) what am I supposed to do?

Contact support again so they can ignore me for 3 more weeks?

The point I'm making is this:

  • Me not responding to a specific person =/= ignoring or not acknowledging an issue

Please do keep tagging me if you do run into issues, I will always try to help, but If I'm dealing with a lot of tags from multiple people at once, there are no guarantees that I'll be able to work through all of them.
