Seriously.
I'm guessing this is because they took the criticism that DLCs 1 and 2 didn't add anything to the base game and decided to work on that, but that's so much further than I was expecting them to go!

That included. And I suppose now you see why this took so long :) there's a lot of cool stuff for the base game with the patch that will come with the dlc. I'll tease some in the coming weeks. Let's begin with the fact that the blood kineticist is finally getting things bloody.
new android companion
Hooo.
And she's pretty cool
"The Lord of Nothing is the fifth premium DLC for Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, wrapping up the story of the second DLC, Through the Ashe
So like You need to buy DLC #5 to wrap up the story of DLC #2?
Yeah, it's written confusingly.
Technically yes, as dlc2 ends with a cliffhanger. Dlc5 is the second part of the story.
The devs did say it would release fairly close to the other one, we might get it near the end of december if we are lucky.
That definitely isn't happening in December, I'm sorry!
Looks like lessons learned from Part 1 of Through the Ashes, with stuff also coming for the base game alongside the side-adventure - 15 new archetypes (these were datamined, no?) and a quest involving the DLC characters.
Good shit.
That's the point, yup.
Here’s hoping Tortured Crusader is among those new archetypes. It’s one of my favorites from TT
It is!
For good or ill, the way mythic paths are set up on the backend makes adding more of them, or modding them, incredibly time-consuming. It's probably more work to add an MP than Last Sarkorians + Lord of Nothing were put together. Yes, really.
There's a reason the game's approaching two years old and you haven't seen a single modding mythic path of substance yet.
Pretty much so, yes.
I think their rationale is that they don't believe dlc dependent on getting to a certain point in the main story will sell as well. They likely have metrics about the percentage of people who have finished each act. Then there's also that poll they put out a few months ago about the type of dlc content people want to see. That shows that they are at least thinking about this topic.
My personal opinion is that the vast length of a playthrough is somewhat off-putting unless the dlc is expansion sized, rather than a sidestory with a single dungeon.
We had such thoughts originally, but the player feedback on the first few released DLCs and then the surveys have revealed that our expectations were partly off. A vast majority of our audience is more invested in content that ties into the main campaign, rather than the sidestories. Even if it requires a player to redo the game or reach a certain Act first. I mean, most of you guys redo the game multiple times anyway :P
While the story of Through the Ashes had to be finished, we've made sure that even the players not interested in the side story had a meaty chunk of content to play with. That was one of the reasons it took so long. I'm certain the wait was worth it though, just look at the new stuff! And there are new armor mythic feats, lots of new spell and environment VFX and Assassin redesign coming with the patch 2.2 together with the DLC, too!
As for future releases (RT in particular) though, it's unlikely we'll be exploring more full sidestories in the nearest time. Expanding the main story experience will be a priority.
So what you’re saying is that it’ll happen in November? Or possibly even October? :p
Would be great, but no :D
Technically yes, as dlc2 ends with a cliffhanger. Dlc5 is the second part of the story.
Actually, a small correction. You CAN play the DLC5 without DLC2, generating a party from scratch. But then you'll miss the beginning of the story, which I don't recommend.
Is it true that they're releasing close to one another?
Wouldn't say so, there isn't any special "let's make it faster" approach there.
Will be released when it's ready. It's unlikely the gap will be as big as between 4 and 5 though. DLC5 was heavily affected by community feedback, and we needed a lot of additional time to re-evaluate what content we were going to have and redesigning it/adding more accordingly. Plus, it got pushed back further by a switch to a new version of Unity (no, not related to the scandal), which paralyzed certain aspects of development for some time.
How do you know this? Is there a list?
Because I represent the company and see them being developed in real time? :D
There will be an article about all of them in the following weeks.
Hi Starrok! I was wondering, do you have any idea which part of the main campaign DLC 6 will take place in? I was just thinking of starting and playing through the game a little slowly in November with the hope it might come out in February/March, thinking there might be enough content there to last me until DLC 6 comes out and I can finish the game. Just wanna know when I should be parking my save, haha
Hi! The plan was to have it in Act V if I remember correctly. So if you don't go too fast, you will probably have the time.
You can always simply return to it later too, like I'm planning to do for example. I've long finished the game, but I definitely wanna have another round of story with my companions and I'm just gonna load an older save for that.
starrok what place is the next pathfinder game going to be in? trying
Good attempt
I'm new to this community, is this the last DLC for this game? What is the plan for the future.
There will be at least one more, DLC6, as the final part of the Season Pass 2.
Will there be season 3? 🙏
It isn't 100% decided, but more likely that it won't happen, unless there will be some crazy success with the two remaining DLCs.
I personally think it would be best to focus your resources on rogue trader. Wotr is amazing, but fixing bugs and having the team work on integrating community feedback is more important than working on previous titles for a new dlc.
Rogue Trader and Wrath are two different teams.
Ooh, can i ask if the weretouched shifters is one of the new archetypes? I really like werewolves and playing as one in this game would be a dream come true.
Yes!
Speakin' of, how is the team weathering the Unity Scandal™? I was thinking of you almost as soon as that was announced, and I hope you've got a plan to hang in there, especially now that Unity's walking it all back.
It doesn't affect anything directly at this time, but may affect the future. We're investigating the possible consequences, but it's too early to say anything for now.
